Did anyone read the story that came with the game? I'm talking that huge text file. It was very detailed and gave both sides a real face when you played the game.
if they are going to a dead planet to begin with why not just go back to earth after the asteroid hit, it would seem all the same and you could just skip traveling light years looking any other planet.
Sure that would make sense but I don't remember that part but that would make sense. One thing I remember from Outpost 1 was that if you choose the wrong solar system you would lose the game at the begging of the game.
Most likely that when Earth got struck by those two asteroids, it not only cause massive destruction, it changed Earth itself to the point that it cannot support life anymore by those impacts.
OMG, i haven't played this in like forever. This game was sweet back in the day.
Hey, can u please upload the FMV that comes on after every mission, the one that shows the truck driving over the hill away from the exploding base in the background???
I am also a fan of the Outpost series. Well sort of. I first played this game in its demo version that was released along with other game's demos in a bonus edition of 3D Ultra Pinball: Creep Night.
I liked it. I admit that it gets redundant if the colony gets too big, though.

Most people hated this game but there's a group of players such as me who think it was great, and it was.

I for one did. Outpost Universe (toss that in Google) has been in touch with the writer of that (or we were a few months back).

Ha! Good point, but I suppose they'd have to wait until the atmosphere stopped being on fire.

I remember some non-released backstory to this that knocked Earth into the sun or something...if I find out I'll be sure to get back to you!

As I said, non-released backstory. If I figure out where I read it and if the source was valid I'll tell you. :)
Man, it's been forever since I played Outpost 1, hah. But remember, we're talking about Outpost 2 here. :)
