most international kpop fans will say that Super Junior, Big Bang, 2NE1, SNSD, etc. are their favorite korean artist same way as most koreans say that Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber ,etc. are their favorite american artist. pop music stands for popular and it is music that tends to get spread internationally. Taylor Swift is very popular in US but I dont think many Korean know about her and Ra.D might be very popular but we wont know them.

@Cassaayy12 but korean music is like this... idol groups are not all of korean music, not even all of kpop. Try kim dong ryul 김동률, sung shi kyung 성시경, park hyo shin 박효신, Lucite Tokki 루싸이트 토끼, Portable Groove 09, Humming Urban Stereo, Clazziquai, Yiruma, Peppertones, 더클래식, Younha 고윤하... those are just few I can recommend. It's there it's just not as easy to find as the idol groups songs that were produced just to make money... (that being said I also like some idol groups ^^)

Idol groups music is made for the masses - for fame and money, whereas this guy is more interested in making music he loves. So, of course not so many people will no it... especially if we are talking about foreigners.
