  • what is a good way of practicing 16ths? i can don anything up to 8th but i cant move my hands fast enough for a 16th

  • practise hitting high hats without bass or snare so u can get the feel for it hw i learnt mate

  • Just do it slowly until you can do it in the right way, then start to do it faster and faster, but try to do it the better way possible. ;)

  • people like different sounds, not everyone has to do it the same way

  • thehappytimpanist: you don't NEED to play it either way... it's all about what sound you're going for... a thud or a boom

  • kay yeah literally that makes almost no sense, do you read notes while playing drums? does anyone? even beginner.. its all memorization, well it looks like it is, ima start playing the drums and i dont plan on reading notes

  • Their are no "notes," to read while playing drums. All it is is rhythms. And let me also say that reading it is very easy. All you need s the knowledge of sixteenth and eight note combination's and what a few techniques look like and your set. But I also agree with Brae... If you're playing rock/metal on drums (Who doesn't?) their is no use in reading rhythms.

  • you sir, are mediocrity at his best, it doesnt matters what you play, its always best to know your shit

  • This was great :P
