  • This really makes me want to go give my dog a hug.

  • I can't hear this song without tearing up in gratitude for all of the unconditional love and sharing I've been blessed with from my furry four legged family members. Truly a masterpiece. Thank you!

  • This is a beautiful song and your montage was a perfect pairing. Animals show unconditional love and appreciate us for every little thing we do. No back talk, no back-stabbing, no hurtful comments...only love. To experience a bond of trust, appreciation, and loyalty, hard to find amongst human beings it sometimes seems, adopt a pet and love them as much as they will love you. The rewards will be immeasurable.

  • @camo2lace This is truly God's own love being manifested in our lives.

  • Lovely music

  • Great photos... we will never know who the photographers were .. but they did a great job as well.

  • Good job! Thanks for posting...

    I miss my dog JAKE....

  • thank for the video my papillon i had to put him down last year it been hard on me i miss him so much

  • This video is awesome, I adore it. Thanks for the big smile on my face right now.

  • I have seen James in concert twice and also Livingston twice. My first Livingston was many years ago and I sat front row center in a very small auditorium on the campus of Earlham College. It was magical. His voice is so peaceful. Put his voice and lovely words with pups and wow....so touching. God put dogs on earth to soothe our souls and lower our blood pressure! I love them!! Thanks for the video!

  • Hi Bill, it's susancarol with a new channel. Had some computer gliches and starting over. It takes time to recover all the music. Yours is so memorable, and as always, in my favorites and playlists. :)

  • my dad met livingston taylor and james taylor when he was in his motorcycle days on cape cod. both of them sat on his motorcycle and my dad drove livingston's to try it out. they then were invited back to james's house on the cape and had desserts. cool, huh?

  • yeah, this video solves two problems the overpopulation of dogs and the scarcity of water, although, I think tears are salt water so not good for drinking. Very very sweet...I think you should apply to ken burns for a job. Beautiful.

  • I'm way beyond a lump in my throat; tears are running down my face. That was perfection. The combination of a wonderful song, beautiful visuals, and a terrific purpose is just magical. I hope some humane does use this, in some form, with your & Liv's permission, of course. Thank you.

  • WFD: What perfect harmony. This song together with dogs. As you said, I've the same lump in my throat. My wife passed away only recently. A dog was always a part of our lives and each one has its own place in my memory. Now it seems I've nothing but time.

This film created by you reminded me how much I've missed having a dog. I agree with Doc here, a masterpiece, and no doubt the idea must have come from your heart. Thanks.

  • Hi DDV, isn't tha a Doctor of Divinity? You must be ordained. I sent a PM to you, when you have time. Thanks, Fred.

  • I've never heard this one from Liv. Well, he continues to bring good tears thinking of my Misty Girl in heaven. Still not over her!!!! A wonderful, loyal hugging Aussie.

  • Hang around on YouTube long enough, and occasionally a masterpiece like this surfaces.

I've loved this song for decades (as well as dogs), and when the two became connected through this video, it hit my heart like a ton of bricks when I viewed this.

Isn't it great to know what unconditional love is all about? Thanks.

  • I've visited youtube before, but as you said, this is a masterpiece, to combine a Liv composition I've always loved, along with the photos of dogs, I love even more. My golden is now blind, yet loves music. Even she responded to this song by coming closer to the desk here, and is actually listenin, wagging her tail. To me, this is as good as it gets. Thanks!

  • Your note is about as good as it gets. Especially the part about your sweet golden. Bless her heart.

Thank you for taking the time to write.

  • @FNewman46 I have a Golden, too. Your comment touches me. Cheers Peter

  • God bless you. I'm a mess now, thanks :). Loved the video. For all doggies everywhere and unconditional love. Rest in peace Alex and all the Taylors.

  • What a beautiful song and photos, perfectly go together. I'm fairly sure Liv dedicated ths song to Alex, but wrote it many years before Alex passed away in 1993. Liv was only 16 when he wrote this song. I was fortunate to meet James once. He was in town and stayed with a family friend. He is so kind, I'm certain he, Liv, all the Taylors would highly approve. Thank you very much!

  • Great video. Thanks so much for posting this. Susan sent it to me, so I had to sign up. We've worked together many years. She's a hard-working volunteer. Five*****

  • This is by far, the best video on youtube right now. I would like to thank you for posting. I sent to several friends and all positive feedback. One wrote me, "this makes me want to run out and get a dog, it's so moving." Great, great video. Thank you.

  • Liv's brother, Alex, died in 1993 of a heart attack. I have a CD by Liv which mentions him as the inspiration for this song. Beautiful. Fitting, too, for this video as the Taylors are animal lovers.
