I'm very serious now about obtaining my black belt more than ever before, a lot has happened in my life, my body and mind has become weak, I gave up many years ago, but now I have 2 sons, one just born, and I will train my very hardest to achieve this. Wish me luck my friends. Karate is once again the oath I chaise for this life. OSS
@syrusx21 Most (if not all) the techniques are in the katas you learn throughout. Unless the katas in whatever school you go to are drastically altered (which shouldn't be the case and if are then you should leave) then there shouldn't be any problem obtaining these moves. One thing is that most american schools do not strongly emphasize on body conditioning as strongly as it's origins Okinawa. Those guys toughen even their fingers for strong open hand techniques.
@jarmo58 thats a spot under the ear where alot of nerves cluster. you can see it on accupuncter charts and even western medicine such as chiropractor charts. poke your finger there and its tender. its a lousy place to get hit, the ridgehand puts a knucklebone right into it and often causes a ko. a fist may work, but doesnt fit well. thai boxers and karateka often shin kick the same area for the same reason. you can see it often in full contact bouts. great question!
