Kudlow is without a doubt a child molester and a scumbag. Should he ever run for anything I give him a week before he's chewing a bullet. I don't condone violence, but would be thrilled to see him in a chalk outline. Here's to HOPE.
Mr. Kudlow is, unfortunately, the last of the Reagan Democrats that believe in the economics will save us from financial oblivion. I, however, can't speak for Iceland and Russia.
Actually Iceland will come out OK with a modest IMF loan. Russia does not need any help, it has no real debt and has only been effected in stock prices, not real estate, industrial output, exports or consumer spending. If anything, it will emerge stronger compared with countries in the EU and North America which will have a very hard time of it. The only people hurt in Russia with the stock crash has been the robber baron oligarchs, not normal citizens and companies.
Yeah sorry, Russia depends on commodities. Especially oil, those have completely tanked. And if the West uses this opportunity to allocate it's resources via governments stimulus to green energy/energy independence than Russia is truly fucked.
jpbalkenende: I am afraid you have been reading too much whitehouse propaganda. The general economic plan for projections and budgeting was set at $65/brl oil prices. The stock market did drop a lot but has little effect on average citizens who;s primary investment is their home, most of which have no mortgage. Major industries are growing very quickly in areas such as automobile, aircraft, chemicals, contruction etc. Ford's most profitable unit last year was their Russia division as were others
Con't. The outlook for Russia is actually quite good, it sells very little oil to the US,but many strategic materials ARE sold to the US which have no easy replacement. The fast growing customers for the oil have been Asia and India which are not highly indebted states so will do ok in the recession. The countries with massive foreign debt are likely to be hurt badly in this cycle, Russia is not one of those. The people handled '98 ok, a devaluation that would have caused the US not to survive.
What does it matter who it is sold to? The problem is the global prices are little more than $40 right now instead of $140, it's a global market and prices are going down. That's why you see Russia canceling big construction projects like the Russia tower and why the stock market in Russia especially has tanked so much. I see no reason to assume why Russia should do any better than any Western country this cycle. Debt is reflected in currency exchanges and the dollar is doing ok.
The suspension was based one of the foreign banks funding the project went bankrupt. Talks are going on now with local banks and investors to resume as an entirely Russian financed project. The price of 47 for oil is still not a loss, and OPEC promises to reduce supply with a target well above the $65 that the Russian projections are based. Demand is growing in all but the US.
My home here gains 30%-40% a year in value but my house in California lost $300,000 (20%)in 2 months. My mom's; 40%
What are you talking about? I'm not sure what world you are living in but the US doesn't have the pull anymore to get oil prices from 140 to 40 with it's own recession. The whole deal why this is such a crisis and commodities are tanking is because it is global. China isn't turbo charged anymore and Russie certainly isn't. And seriously though Russian growth hasn't been that impressive. I mean they were at 1989 levels for the first time again in 2007/2008.
The Corporate Crooks run wild with their bonuses and their bailouts - Meanwhile, that poor 17 year old kid is probably having God-knows-what done to him while he rots in Jail for a really minor offense - some justice system we have...
The judges are republican and they side with the corporate hitlers and are ignoring the evidence and the lawyers in this country are terrible and should have stop Enron early on and the SEC should have notice the fraud early on! Author Anderson the accounting firm is still cooking the books for other corporate hitlers. Like CNF inc. and Consolidated Freithways, just google SEC on those corrupt companies.
Here's the issue.. they KNEW all about it, but just let it go on because they (the government and the partisans) had their hands in the pockets of hard-working Americans who had to invest in enron in some direct or indirect way.
People lost so much and EVERYONE knew that some illegality was going on. Even if they didn't know how bad it was, people knew that something was going on, but no one would investigate until thousands lost their jobs and billions of dollars "disappeared"
Adversary complaints when the declare ch. 11 bankruptcy help us to stand up to evil, the Constitution is very powerful and we need to have the courage to use it! I have been in Federal court for 7 years because Consolidated Freithtways never secured workers compensation, nor were self-insured in 2002. The union laywers were dumb asses, and most all lawyer don't know all the laws, that is why we need to help one another on the laws of the land and stand up to evil in the courts.
I'd like to add that the Democrats have a LOT of blood on their hands considering that they're the opposition and haven't done much at ALL. In fact, they've sided with the Bushonites on many critical points.
I'm so disgusted that they did so much sitting around and for those who did speak out, they were silenced.
I really think both sides need to be overhauled in a major way. To have to choose between two poisons.. that's unAmerican.
