A stupid spider crawled into the speaker through the bass opening on mine... I hate that spider... I don't see how you can take the speakers apart either. Oh! They have good quality though :)

I got these speakers for Christmas last year, so far they have been great, I don't know what people are bitching about to be honest =/

One thing I don't like BOSE is when you put the volume up the sound goes down other than that great speakers

I just bought these speakers off of newegg.com. They are by far the worst speakers I have ever purchased. Muddy as all hell. The bass drowns out anything and everything coming out of my PC. The worst part is you can't adjust the bass at all. These speakers should be worth 30$ instead of the 100$ they are. For 100$ you can by far better speakers then these. What a waste of time and effort. My ears hurt from listening to these things.

I'm sorry you bought into Bose's marking scam, I really am. Those speakers are pretty much junk, and you could have purchased much better speakers for much less money. Bose is a scam- google it.

Familiar with google? Just google bose sucks. How anyone can still be uninformed that Bose under perform, are over-priced and are made with inferior materials, is beyond me. And yes, you can argue with their engineering. Its terrible, and the end result shows. If you choose to be ignorant of those facts, I guess you deserve to get ripped off.

Bose only sound amazing to the ignorant. If you bother to do an iota of research, you will learn that you can get better sound for less money.

Sorry, I think I was a little more rude than I needed to be. I'm just a little baffled and annoyed that Bose markets their speakers as a high end product when they are not. And 90 percent of the public buys into it. I'm not annoyed at you- just Bose.

Have you heard of the Creative T20? Those have a separate woofer and tweeter, which results in a more accurate complete sound than Bose, which have just a single paper driver in each speaker.

Also, if you want awesome computer sound, you might want to check out a T-amp and some small bookshelf speakers. I have the Dayton DTA-1 amp and some JBL Control Monitor speakers. I paid only $110 or so for the setup (a tiny bit more than the Bose), and the sound better than many home stereo systems.

That should technically be true but I've heard thr T20 and they sound tinny and muddy compared to the companion 2's and the Bose have dual inputs without sacrificing sound quality or volume - unlike most RCA or 3.5mm Jack splitters - it also has a headphone port in the front which is very conveniant

The audio cable included are quite cheap. Better replace them with a better cable.

I have the companion 2 series 1 speakers and they look differnt from 2. I not sure I think series 2 are better than 1 right? Anyway they are amazing. I will try to get companion5 for Christmas

I used to have the bose MediaMate way back in '02, these are the replacement. These have a built in mini bass, very clear sounds even at high volume.

im 6'3" and i laid the wire out next to me and it was just barely shorter than me, it may be a stretch but i think you could pull it off
