What, my goodness, Agnes Zawadski just got 66 in the sp at Nats. She's been falling down all season. When did she learn to stand up? LOL Congrats to Agnes on a great skate. Oh, and um, Alissa got a 63.14. Alissa has a great Freeskate. She'll win because the gods on Mt. Olympus ordain it.
And THIS is what I call skating above the music (pretty bad choice of music, btw) with no transitions... And also, no jumps. The deffinition af a disaster.
Yes the spins are amazing. But the jumps are very bad and she has absolutely NO transitions. She has been very much overmarked in this because she looks pretty. Carolina deserved to win this even with the absense of the lutz.
@sk8ingcoach1 After Alissa won the sp with her uniquely elegant and superb rendition she had the competition sewn up. She couldn't have lost even if she had skated into a Zamboni, crashed into a wall and toppled over a tv camera. Alissa is the best.
@gallantrycross She shouldnt have been so far ahead in the short. She won because she has a pretty face, good spirals and because the competition is called Skate America.
@sk8ingcoach1 I appreciate that you think Alissa is pretty (she's gorgeous and has the beatific face that photographers like to put on the cover of Vogue), that her spins are amazing, good spirals (her spirals are incredible) and so forth. But she did not win 19 national and international Gold Medals just because she was "pretty". She'll win Nats and she'll podium at Worlds. Alissa is better than Kostner, who is propped up by the Italian Skating Union (ISU).
@gallantrycross Hmmmmm i beg to differ. I believe that Wagner could beat Czisny at nationals because she has a triple-triple. And if Czisny performs like she did a the GPF then she will not place at worlds. I think that the podium will be Mao, Kostner and Suzuki because they have jumps that are going to get positive GOE. Where as Czisny's jumps ( even performed good ) are not as good as her competitors. But well have to wait till worlds
Why the hell is this girl wearing this long dresses down to her knees? Her coaches are making her look like a 1920's figure skater, OLD!!!! With her elegance, she should be wearing short, elegant, tight dresses.
I love Valse Triste, but this music cut is terrible. I do think her overall skating has improved a lot this year though, her speed is excellent and she looks very sharp out there in all of the steps and in-between movements.
The program started off great, but then oops! and I started seeing the Gold slip through Alissa's fingers! I swear, that girl is going to drive me to drinking.
Ashley won Nats with 187 and Alissa was Silver with 180. Next year Gracie Gold will make this all moot. LOL Congrats to the podiumettes!

@eelbjorn She performed a triple lutz/ triple toe during skate america in 2005 I believe. Its posted somewhere on youtube.
