  • I loved this entrance! Not a Warrior fan but he had an incredible body

  • It must be end of 1990...i taped many of those superstars shows. When it was on "Eurosport" on PRIME TIME 8:15 p.m.!

  • WWE really bent over backwards to get this guys charisma going

  • This intro was most probably the inspiration for Warrior's 'Super Pin' in the WWF In Your House video game.

  • This was definitely late 1990. I really miss these days. WWF RULES. WWE who?

  • @rufus317 wwf and wwe are the same company, just they they had to go from wwf to wwe because of the ( wwf panda)

  • @domamania I was figuritively speaking. WWF was Macho Man, Hulk Hogan, Andre Teh Giant. WWE is John Cena, Randy Orton, and Seamus. WWF action was far superior than WWE. I've been watching it since the early 80s.

  • @rufus317 well you do have a point there, but , becuase i guess there running out of story lines, and the money in society is not here like it was 20 years ago to do some thing extravigent like we were able to do before, believe me money does make a difference in a business, even wrestling

  • luv this version of superstars, dee ultamite warrior totally rulez just like megatron & the deceptikonz.

  • Wow, what a cheesy intro. Hadn't watched this before.

  • This was when the Ultimate Warrior was the World Wrestling Federation Champion.

  • I need an animated GIF of 0:22 to 0:26. That's hilarious.

  • Warrior got a"Raw" deal from the WWF -- they were so lazy in how they pushed him once he had the title -- they pretty much expected him to sell tickets without doing anything to really promote him.

  • WOW! I never saw this ever b4. Im a big Ultimate Warrior fan! That brings back great childhood memories!

  • real talent.!

    the warrior forever!!!

  • destrucity =D

  • @DJReSatisfaction

and you thought it a new idea?

  • Holy Crap PIper looked So out of place as a GOOD GUY... ughhh lol

  • @elchicho25 It's hard to book that guy as a heel because smart fans would cheer him. It's hard to boo a performer that good. Piper is just too charismatic to stay a heel. I loved his heel work, but I have to admit... the coconut smashing on Jimmy Snuka's head made me pop big time as a little kid.

  • That intro shouted "Warrior Appreciation" when i first saw it back in the day.

  • HOLY FUCK, PIPER! <3

  • OMFG, talk about a trip down memory lane! I haven't seen this Warrior intro in ages! I remember when this came on right after Soul Train on Saturday mornings. Then when Soul Train was over, the announcer at the end credits would say "AND NOW IT'S WRRRRESTLING!" and I would get so excited with anticipation just to watch this! Nowadays, I can barely stomach the crap they have on Raw/Smackdown/ECW!

Watching 'Superstars' on Saturday mornings & Wrestling Challenge on Sundays = fun times!

  • Oh mine those were the day. I sometime wanted the Dodgers game to be in a rain delay or end early so I could see SUPERSTARS or Challenge LOL.

  • freaking awesome!

  • BTW, it seems that one poster made mention that "Superstars" came on Saturday mornings in his area. In Roanoke, VA up until 1992 (when it was taken off up there) came on Sunday mornings at 11am and Wrestling Challenge came on Saturday Mornings at 10am. Does anyone know what WWF's preferred method of airing their syndicated shows were???

  • It came on Saturday mornings in my area too. I lived in LA when it came on (Los Angeles, not Louisiana) It was Superstars of Wrestling on Saturdays @ 11am, and Wrestling Challenge on Sundays @ 12pm (both aired on Fox channel 11 in that area)

  • Not just in LA but in San Diego too on XETV 6 although Challenge didn't aired in San Diego.

The sad part is that XETV took SUPERSTARS off the air in 1995 for a fishing show so I didn't see any wrestling WWE or WCW until I moved back to LA in FEB 96.

  • The reason why the "Of Wrestling" portion of the graphic is covered up is because the WWE never outrighted owned the term WWF Superstars of Wrestling. Actually the term "Superstars of Wrestling" belongs to someone else and the WWF/E got the trademark for a limited time. Notice how in 1992 the name went to "WWF SUPERSTARS" only. SO to avoid having to pay royalities the video dept. covers up, blurs, and mutes out any mentions of the latter part of the show's title...which is frustrating!!!!!

  • Hahaha! Vinny Mac!

  • too bad wrestling doesnt have these types now

  • Man!...NOW THIS! brings back sum memories!...thanks for posting!...

  • I remembered one time in 8th grade, some of my friends made plans to play basketball on a saturday morning, and I was like no way man.. I have to watch wwf superstars!!!!

  • They did indeed use green screen to make the announcers appear like they were actually in the arena. Sometimes they were, but not often. They'd tape Superstars at arenas and would do 4 hour shows so they'd have a months worth of matches and things.

It's interesting to note that at WWE Online they're showing episodes of Superstars now and for some reason they put a graphic of "Of Wrestling" so that it just says "Superstars"

  • I mean they (WWE Online) put a graphic over "Of Wrestling" so that it doesn't say Superstars of Wrestling, but instead it just says Superstars.

  • there bringing back this show next month cant wait

  • They really should bring back a Saturday morning wrestling show.

  • awesome!

  • I loved this entrance for Superstars! Thanks for the post

  • looks like they used a green screen for vince and roddy there like floating above the fans lol

  • Warriors powers didn't come from the gods, it came from a needle.

  • lol good call

  • @UltMitSinner78 Hahahaha you wish you had Warrior's awesome physique in your lifetime. hahahaaa you wish that sooooo bad.

  • Coolness personified

  • wow how they do that!?

  • they used a very very primitive 80s computer program by IBM. It's the prcoursor to Adobe After Effects of Sony Vegas

  • Watch out for the Purple Laser coming out of his Eyes.

  • siccc

  • siccc

  • He was the best of all time! Never again come someone like him in WWE! The WWE- "Stars" today are only Kiddies

  • FRICKING HILLARIOUS

  • HOLY SHIT. That was one of the funniest damn things I've ever seen. This is so getting favorited.

  • Ultimate Warrior for Hall of Fame!

  • @Nerdkiller316 Warrior was contacted by Vince to go into the hall of fame this year cuz Wrestlemania was in Arizona where Warrior lives, but Warrior told Vince no.

P.S. Warrior lives in New Mexico. close to Arizona lol.

  • @Jul2B Warrior's side of the story was if they could have a face to face talk about things then he'd agree to the HoF thing but Vince never agreed to the face-to-face so warrior declined on the HoF. He had some grievances about the Self Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior DVD as the way it was done was not with his consent.

  • @dealmaker007 Thanks for lettin me know. If you can ever get your hands on the ultimate warriors shoot interview dvd you should it is a must have! There were only like 1000 copies made so it would be hard to find. the wwe version of the ultimate warriors career dvd was one sided. the warrior tells it like it is on the shoot interview dvd.

  • @Jul2B He talked about it on his blog too. I forget which entry it was but he clarified the situation. Talked about his court case too.

  • Yeah, same here. It was nicely done.

  • best superstars intro ever

  • Ditto. The music really suits the intro. It's just brilliant.

  • I was looking for this too. I remember this was around the time I started watching WWF again after taking a break from it where I only watched occasionally. I'm sorry I took that break after how much I love those shows, angles, and events after going back to it in 1990.

  • i'v been looking for this intro

    thanx for uploading

  • what year is this from?

  • 2nd half 1990

  • Plus first quarter of 1991.

  • didnt lost warrior his belt against slaughter in january 91 at royal rumble? did they show this clip after this? cant remember...

  • Yeah, he lost the belt in January, but the intro was intact until maybe after WrestleMania.

  • No, and after Hogan beat Slaughter for the belt at WM 7, the new Superstars opening was Stars & Stripes Forever with Hogan holding the belt.

  • I remember this being used for a couple weeks after Warrior lost the belt.

  • @UltimateWarriorFan Nope. The company was realizing that Warrior was not reliable enough to carry the company. Hogan was already back in the company, so Slaughter was given the championship, just to drop it to Hogan at WrestleMania. They still keep Warrior a main eventer, but this was effectively the end of his biggest run in WWE.

  • Oh man that brings back alot of memories... Thanks.

  • Excellent! That really captured the larger-than-life cartoon vibe of the Ultimate Watrrior. Awesome intro to the WWF Superstars tv show.
