I don't know where you get your statistics, but recent INDEPENDENT polls show that over 2/3 of Americans identify themselves as conservatives. That's not the official reason why Reagan wasn't prosecuted. He was cross examined by Congress, he just had no memory of the incident. :) Reagan was GREAT!

I really can't get past the total ignorance of some of the people who post here. Ted Kennedy was one of the greatest senators ever, and you can't dispute that. People loved Ted Kennedy because he got things done, there wasn't one major piece of legislation in the last 30 years that he wasn't involved in.

Um, That was the President Kennedy, Not Senator Kennedy. And yeah, The USSR was setting up Missle Launchers not mor than 50 miles from Florida! Reaction time to a nuke attack then was 0. It was either blow up the launchers and take physical control of a Threating Country which would have held the US at continuious threat and hostage on a daily basis and whim, or stop the Soviet's from delivering the missles to those Launchers. President Kennedy avoided war with the USSR on his watch.
