  • you've copied from another vid

  • @TheBombBros i understand perfectly fine. Charcoal works longer than an hour (which is when you added the wood). It "cooled down" because it stopped flaming. "smoldering" is what it's supposed to do. When you need high heat with charcoal, cook directly on the coals (as in put the can in the coals) not a few inches over them. It would've been fine if you did that. Adding wood is fine too if you want to keep the can on the grate. I wasn't trying to insult you. Just explaining how it could be fixed

  • Obvious, huh? You seemed to think it wasn't supposed to do that in your vid.

  • @cheesynerd117 Im sorry you dont seem to understand, I added wood because charcoal doesn't burn long. I used to cook on that grill.

  • The reason your cooking charcoal stopped flaming is because that's what it's supposed to do. Cooking with charcoal is when you want to cook on coals rather than flame. It's more even and it's long lasting.

  • @cheesynerd117 Thanks for sharing obvious information with us all!

  • Cool but I've always wondered since wood has impurities that wood would make shitty coal. Scientifically speaking if you did the same thing to sugar, the sugar would break down into pure 100% carbon. No impurities. So wouldn't sugar be the best thing for making coal/carbon? Has anyone tried using pure carbon instead of coal for blackpowder I would think it would burn quicker, unless its too dense or something.

  • what would happend if you used paper instead of wood making charcoal?

  • @Aqlor It still works. I have made toilet paper charcoal before and it works well for black powder. but you want wood charcoal for stars and rocket fuel.

  • Do you have to burn the wax off? Couldnt you just melt it off? I dont have a torch.

  • @MasterXxploder well, it was not really necessary for the can I used, but some cans do need it. If you do not have a torch just set the empty can over the fire for a few minutes.

  • i wanna see a video of this stuff in action just to see if this method really works...

  • @stigmatic79 Look up my video fast black powder testing. I used this method.

  • Well, you need an ATF license to store explosives on your property, along with a signature from the fire marshal. you also have to build a special "magazine" on your property that has to meet very specific standards. The list of red tape goes on and on. I'm surprised they can even sell any kind of firework here in california. (i live in the valley-by the way).

  • @allthingsdestructive is this to me? i already have talked with the fire marshall and have all the papers i need. i am perfectly legal. dont like it when people tell me what to do especially since i try to be as safe and legal as possible.

  • @TheBombBros can I do this on a stove?

  • @nunvikingsofthesea well, yes on a gas stove or wood stove, but not indoors. a hot plate or something like that wont work though.

  • @TheBombBros I heard people use newspaper charcol to make BP, is that possible? have you tried it?

  • @nunvikingsofthesea never tried newspaper. but i have tried toilet paper. it works very well for fast bp. i have a video about it somewhere. its called fast black powder testing.

  • @TheBombBros is it the same procedure for making toilet paper charcol??? put it in the can and heat it up?Thanks, awesome video btw!

  • @nunvikingsofthesea absolutely. its the same process, but its alot quicker becuase there is no oils and sap in the paper.

  • @TheBombBros alright thanks man

  • what's the best way to grind it into a powder?

  • @NickPech i break it into chunks by hand, then use a ball mill.

  • good job, thanks.

  • so what is this for or use for?

  • @jerrydff7 for black powder, star mix, rocket mix and other mixes.

but not all stars or rocket fuels use charcoal. only streamer type stars and motors.

  • @TheBombBros oh ok Thanks!

  • Great Grade Pyro Win

  • @JHAYTOT1 thankyou

  • 以碳換碳環保嗎?

  • @xy31416xy sorry, i only speak english. you can comment again in english and ill answer it.

  • @TheBombBros

he asked: Your torch was using hydrocarbon, which release CO2 during combustion,. And you make the charcoal with this torch. After u burn the charcoal, the charcoal also release CO2, and he wonder whether it is a kind of environmental protection.

  • @02151d14 thankyou for clearing that up. honestly it coulnt be too bad. no worse than having a campfire or using the torch for something else. i dont make the charcoal with the torch, i just burn off paint from the inside. i cook it with wood.

  • @xy31416xy cool!

  • hey , can you tell me what wood is the best for black powder and what wood is the best for stars , thankss

  • @TheMosh97 read my comment to Vilius128. it explains most of it.

  • can use any woods izit ?

  • @TheMosh97 it depends. hard woods and sappy woods work good for streamer stars. soft woods like balsa and willow are great for black powder and H3.

  • Why do you do a exactly same video as Nighthawkinlights?

  • @Iolfish well, it inspired me. i look up to him like a teacher in my hobby so i decided to try hisd technique. then i liked it, so i filmed it. it was just a video. i wasnt copying his video. i just wanted to be like him. if you dont like my videos, dont watch them.

  • Wat do u do hafter it's done

  • @MrBbomb21

put it in a blender to mill it fast. then actually mill it in a ball mill. then it is ready to add to a comp to make black powder or streamer stars. sometimes its even used for H3 lift and burst.

  • where can i get a this kind of can for free? I don't whant to buy a new paint can for only thee can

  • @Vilius128 i used a empty coffee can. then i used the bottom of another coffee can for a lid. you can buy an empty paint can for around $2 or $3.

  • well, anyways i just found a nice big cookies can,so i will probably use it tomorrow

  • @Vilius128 anything will work as long as it wont burn. the fire needs to be nice and hot otherwise it will take very long. i tried it on a propane grill and it never smoked, i looked inside the can and the wood sweated. it needs to be a wood fire or grill. you can use rolls of toilet paper if you want fast charcoal. if you want charcoal for streamer stars like Tigertail or C6, you should use pine. pine makes many sparks, while toilet paper or napkin charcoal burn with less sparks, but very fast

  • what if i don't have a torch?

  • its only necessary if there is a wax layer on the can. this was a folgers coffee can so it had waz to keep it fresh. if you dont have a torch, just leave the can empty and put it on the fire without the lid on. this will burn the wax.

  • after the charcoal then what? do you add something to make the good fireworks stuff

  • it needs to be milled in a ball mill to make it a fine powder. the finer the better. it is then mixed with potassium nitrate and sulfur to make black powder. them milled to make the bp faster. then granulated or coated on rice hulls. the charcoal can also be used for streamer stars. (black powder based star compositions)

  • Thank you. I'm just now getting into making my own fireworks and this sounds like an awesome hobby.

  • check out a few of my newer vids. they are helpful for people who are learning. i try to give info that is helpful and neccessary.

  • wat is charcoal for and wat is in the little bucket jar thingy

  • @scootercraved

charcoal is the main fuel in black powder and many star compositions. the crucible is a coffee can with the bottom of another coffe can i cut out with a can opener. (for the lid) there are other methods but this is an easy one.

  • pyrotechnics can be cool. i myself do not agree with bomb makers becuase it can be dangerous to the maker. i can kind of understand trying to blow a hole in the ground but thats different than trying to blow a building up. i just dont want anyone to get hurt thats all. your welcome for the answer two the charcoal question. and be safe.

  • Using charcoal to make charcoal...

Your friends must think your crazy :P

Although, I do understand why you are of course.

  • you see, i enjoy legal and safe firework and pyrotechnics building. im not crazy like people who make pipe bombs and such. any metal device is illegal and dangerous. i was just using this charcoal to make black powder and tigertail stars.

  • Yes of course, I only viewed this video because it was a respone to nighthawk's.

You are right, pipe bombs are dumb..

I am still trying to get into pyrotechnics, still not sure if it's legal in California.

  • yes nighthawk inspird me to make this video. i would say his video is still better. but about the pipe bombs, if anyone comments about making them or such, i will delete their comment. bomb makers irritate me becuase im the one who promotes it legally and safely. they give me a bad reputation.

  • dont u think that making bombs is still quite cool though

  • no not at all. they are for idiots. dont say anything positive about them. bombs are usuallyt not made properly and can be harmful. also they arent usually made of paper. pyrotechnics are made of safe materials

  • well that is an opinion, like i could say; ''pyrotechnics is for faggots'' but thats not my opinion.

but anyway i make bombs and they are really fun :)

+ i have a vid on my page plzz watch it:) TY for answering my Q though

  • isnt it coal that you used to heat the wood/charcoal

  • yes it is grilling charcoal briquettes.
