  • Hey, im not sure if i have heat rash or not, but when i stay for about 30 min sweating (exercising) my skin begins to grow red rashes they arent exactly spots they look more like mosquito bites. They appear on my face, neck and basically upper body rarely on legs. They itch a bit but they arent very itchy i can resist it. i have it for 4 years now but i never rlly searched for treatment. this also happens when i take a shower. They go away after 20min when i go to a cool place. HELP! thanks

  • well...doesn't work when you live in Vegas -____- its hard to stay away from the heat during the summer.

  • We'll i have Ichthyosis vulgaris but this prickly itch/Heat rash that i have occurs during the late summer all the way thru winter, spring, and early summer. My skin somehow sheds for the summer allowing me to sweat so i think my prickly itch goes away then comes back the early symptoms when summer nearly ends. Process all over again. And this itch is strongest at my back than any other part of my legs and arms and scalp? Anyone else

  • I have this now, and it frickin sucks... especially when I'm about to leave for bootcamp! UGGH, now I may be delayed :(

  • I've picked this up a few weeks ago and it's really annoying me. I get it whenever I exercise or even after I take warm showers. How long will it last like this? Is this is a life long condition?

  • @Kerekzy no no no i get it every summer on my arms above my forearms for wearing tshirts in marching band it goes away especially when it gets cold

  • @guitaristave110 Okay, but even when it's somewhat cool I still get it from light exercise or being in a warm area for a matter of seconds. I've never had this before, but should I expect this to continue for a long time?

  • @Kerekzy it shouldnt it usually dosent i guess you need to continue to whatch it if it gets bad in the winter maybe see a doctor

  • @Kerekzy I have the same condition as you i cant even exercise no more or go outside because the sunlight gets me warm or when i get goosebumps it triggers this awful prickly itch...for some reason i tend to get the early symptoms late summer then it gets me on winter, spring and early summer then it stops...then it comes back. Also the people that have this some suffer it during summer and the others thru the other seasons? i have to stay air conditioned...

  • yeah, this pisses me off! every time i work out or drink a cup of coffee then my body gets warm then starts itching

  • Okay i finaly consulted with a dermatologist , Heres the answer ,first go visit one.2nd he will guide you as to what type of skin rash u might have ,or of any other skin issues , I my self has a skin condition known as "Atopic Dermatitis" (look up if need help on it ) unfortunatly it's heriditory :( and cant be treated ,the doctor will prescribe special tablets known as "Antihistamines" this will help the agrivation on skin ,and u wont feel the itch ,but this will not clear the problem

  • I have a heat rash on my back and chest for a little under a week now. 1% hydrocortizone cream (not ointment) and gold bond medicated powder seem to be helping it a bit. Also taking some benadryl after I get home seems to help deal with the itching. It is mostly gone on my back with only my chest still a bit red.

At first I thought it was from an allergy after wearing a new t-shirt but my girlfriend recognized it right away as a heat rash. The prickly sensation in heat is very itchy.

  • Two weeks of what seems to be me playing baseball and i get this lol i would be scratching everywhere

  • omg i have that! i thought it was poisen oak, thank you so much for sharing!(:

  • Can you suggest some type of treatment that I can put on it...?

  • what about sweat rash how do you cure that?

  • Ohh i thought this was a mosquito bite lol thanks.

  • How can you cure a rash that you have gotten from a wet shorts from the pool

  • Uhm can heat rash occur on the inner thigh? cuz ive had a rash since last year. and is it possible for it to spread? because its gotten bigger and it is now on my 2 thighs. its also changed to a weird light purplelish color. any1 know if its heat rash? it cant be stds. im still a virgin.

  • is it okay if i use aloe vera and non itching cream?

  • its not freakin working

  • I having heat rashes up to not, from young to adults.

  • i have had sweat rash in my groin a few times and i use canesten creme, sorts it out.

  • I can't believe it! I just tried the extra virgin olive oil 1981...Camero suggested, and my heat rash has been relieved!!!! I rubbed it on thinking it wouldn't work but I was willing to try anything. As I was getting ready to run a few errands, I realized I wasn't itching OR uncomfortable anymore. Extra Virgin olive oil really works and you probably already have it in your home. Good luck everyone. It worked for me, try it. :)

  • @soaringsolo I was wondering if your heat rash left you any scars. I usually have the most beautiful skin but my face at the moment looks monstrous!!!

  • @SandraLondon63 I got finally cured and regained my velvety skin again! Thanks to Calamine cream! It is a miracle!!! Very nice for sensitive skin.

  • I think i have it I have a rash on my chest and i think it may be heat rash. I worked 15 hours in about 95 degree weather sweating my rear off in a dirty I mean a really dirty home. I guess ill have to see if it goes away in a couple days.

  • i take body showers with selsun blue, it helped somewhat. but theres still an area of skin in my legs which is a different color due to the intensity of previous heat rashes I need another remedy .

  • I'm going to tell people the only thing that I found REALLY works.

I tried tons of difference creams, and they never work, at best they just irritate the skin.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil!! it works, first of all it repels water, secondly it's good for your skin, thirdly it keeps your skin from drying up, which prevents itching.

I only decided to try this a couple days ago, after months, upon months of using other junk, and having nothing work, and it's almost 100% healed, and not itchy! :-)

  • @1981z28camaro What about corn oil?

  • @dakidtag maybe, not sure, lol

  • Yes, this "avoid heat" is crap. And you need to use extra strength GOLD BOND POWDER. Put it on, it will burn like HELLS FIRE for about 5 minutes, and then a cooling sensation will come over you, and then REAL RELIEF. TRUST ME. not wearing underwear will help, too. but if your'e a guy, "break yourself in" at home for a couple days to get used to the new sensation of not wearing underwear, or else you'll be walking around with an erection all day.

  • @Hittman305 Lmao at the at the balls part.

  • LOL Hittman305!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

  • A good thing to do is keep your skin well ventilated. Don't cover yourself with heavy fabrics especially when exercising, as it can stop moister from evaporating, which may encourage skin reactions to bacteria and fungus.

Sports shops usually sell light clothes that can help with this.

  • i have alot of it on my forehead its so annoying and i know taking hot showers dosnt help but i just cant not take a hot shower

  • for the love of god don't use baking soda, no matter what you hear on the internet.

  • Hey! i was talkin to her not u,fukin bitch!!

  • i have it on the inside part of my arms where they bend.

  • Uh-huh, that's practical. You got heat rash? Try to escape the sun. What are you supposed to do in the city? Continously stop in airconditioned environments at every block? There has to be some remedy more practical than that.

  • well, she DID mention corn starch or some other powder...so maybe that would also help.

  • Mmm but powders won't actually stay with your skin for long periods of time.

You know what I suggest doing? A) Check with your doctor to make sure this isn't an allergic reaction adjectated by heat B) find a scentless antipersperiant and rub it on the irritated area. Antiperspirants were meant to functionally absorb sweat and dry skin as well as bonding with skin somewhat. C) Antihystamines!

I hate this whole "avoid heat" malarky. What if you live in California?

  • I agree
