If you had read all of the comments (I really don't expect you to so), I had transferred the DV tape to PC with Ulead Software, however the Ulead software was not set correctly to receive 15 frames per second.
So rather than upload nothing, I just uploaded what I had. No commentary, no notes. Sorry.
Why didn't I try again? Not worth my time twice. I had about an hour's worth of video, and DV tape transfer is 'real-time', 1/1.
I couldnt tell if you had taken the whole laptop apart to get to the jack...seeing how I am going to have to fix this myself, I really could use ome help, but I couldnt make out what was being done. isnt there any other way to slow down the vid? perhaps in some video software? Thanks

@rhomis thanks for advice, actualy on my zv5000 or 3 pins to ground but I suder only the left with the midle oane, and aplyed a little souder to (+) allsoo. Hoever the board look very frigel, but it worked perfect. I think next time if I have any problem I will use a more lower power ledcon.
well the power socket in my acer travel mate 5520 ( the power socket is inside the laptop and it plugs into laptop charger) has fallen into a different place like right into the laptop so i cant charge and im gonna open it and move the power socket to its normal place
You can probably fix it with a replacement part, but it appears that your jack may be broken from the mother board, with damage to the board. It can be fixed by installing an external "pig tail" connector that matches your AC power supply.
Never pigtail off the board - repair the board. boards can be reattached and traces repaired. Pigtailing is a bad repair. Also anyone that takes laptops in for money for repair should replace the jack - reflow is BS and the DC (not AC as stated in the description) jack solder breaks due to stress and wear and for $5 wholesale for a jack there's no reason a shop shouldnt replace it. I get $50 flat and the jack is included and I have 35+ yrs in electronics military and civilian equipment.
dear mr. blakeman, I have an HP Pavillion laptop with a broken power plug. I bought a replacement plug off Ebay but chickened out after watching videos. Can you fix it? What would be the cost of repair? Thanks so much. Reply to: bushfilm@gmail.com
There are some Sony, Toshiba and Acer machines that are slipped into the base plastics and have a harness on them to a molex on the mobo rather than the jack being soldered to the mobo. The plastic holder in the base breaks and either epoxy repair of the holder in the plastic or replacement of the base is needed. It could be that the center pin has broken loose and gone into the machine, the HP V2000's are well known for the same thing,
If your are doing regular for-money repairs on laptops you need known good adapters such as a good quality universal with all the various tips. You can use an adapter with higher current than posted but the voltage has to be within a volt of the labeled voltage. Under current it wont run, voltage too high or low can cause damage to the charge circuit, make error lamps flash or at minimum it wont work.
I took my laptop apart just once. It was really scary like defusing a bomb or something. I'm taking it apart again once I have the proper replacement parts
The only tricky part is removing the old jack. Desoldering isn't the easiest thing for little parts like these. Use of a desoldering braid ($3 at radio shack) makes it possible. That and a little time and you'll get all the solder out..
$5.40 for the part (plus shipping $5.00). Most websites, like hp, have service manuals that you can download for free. They have clear step-by-step instructions on dissambel and assembling.

Did HP make its laptop's DC adapters weak? As im typing I have this problem. I had it last year. They told me it was either the motherboard or the DC adapter. Lucky for me it was the DC adapter which was cheap to fix. They resoldered it but right now, about a year later, I have this problem again. I twisted the cable under the laptop to hold the cable from moving or else the PC starts to run on battery power. I've got a Presario. Did these come out with a defect or is it just mine?
I have one of the dv1000 series and it has the same problem. It sometimes doesn't have any input charge to the computer. And it had 20% battery last night, and when I turned it on this morning, 14% (on standby, switched to hibernate at ~ 4 hrs later)
It is NOT hard at all. Go to the manufacturer's website of the laptop and download the service manual. Follow the manual exactly as they say and you'll be fine.
thanx this video was really a help for fixing my problem in 25 seconds u asshole. /sarcams

@MsDeeWilliams
I did take it all apart. I found a PDF file "service manual" by chance, and it helped me a lot.
To download the video, use FireFox browser and install the DownLoad helper plugin. Very easy to use.

hey man I saw that 2 of the contacts go to grd on the main board,is any mistake if I solder those contacts bettwen them allsoo?

@KEEVVY
As long as both of them are "only grounded", you should be good. The replacements come with extra prongs for more stability anyhow.

Every time I tried to transfer the original video from the JVC camcorder to the PC, it captured it fast motion. So I posted what I had to work with.
Originally it was going to be a detailed "How To" video.

cool man. I was just joking around. a how to would be nice though. my jacks broken as well. HP needs to do a receall

hey did that fix work cause my charger stop workin and im tryin to find somewhere to fix it or some site i can use to fix it
sonofgun007 3 years ago
That fix did work. The charger was fine, because I used a meter to check it,
Definately the power jack was broken. you could see that it wiggled and made no contact.
If you need a PDF service manual PM me your e-mail address here, on YouTube.

If was my laptop that I was reparing, I'd install a flexible "pigtail", or wire, with a female connector hanging out for the power to connect into.

I just fixed another one. You need a service manual. PM me and I can send it to you.
I take the laptop apart one step at a time, and label the parts (and screws) with tape and tag each step with a number {sticker}.
I also use a marker to jot notes inside of the actual laptop, "Long screw here", or "sliver screw here".
I'll take a few photos too.

The power jack is where you plug in the charger I assume. Is it expensive to repair, as mine is broken.
