  • hey just subed you love your videos

  • Have you looked at S&W 1911? I had a chance to shoot my uncles. It was NICE

  • Yes, there are several reviews up on our site. Check the ARCHIVES page.

  • expensive

  • Thanks for the reviews, I really enjoy them. And, thanks for the music, God bless Dixie & this great country.

  • so this is what santa does the rest of the year

  • I'll bet HANK WILLIAMS JR. got the first one off the line!!

  • my next 1911 !!

  • I wish Bill was still around to see the Ruger 1911. I miss that guy.

  • Jeff, do you know if they have any plans to make a compact model?

  • There are plans to make a variety of models, including a compact, sometime in the future.

    jeff

  • looks like zz top are big gun fans lol. nonetheless great review tho

  • And I'm a big ZZ Top fan!

  • between this and a baretta 92fs, which would you prefer?

  • I personally prefer the 1911.

    jeff

  • Great review Jeff. A buddy of mine got one in stock tonight, and I bought it based on your input. I'm sure I will love it. Thanks!

  • Wow! Great shooting! That dude is DEAD!

  • Can't wait to get this pistol

  • I'm looking at getting a 1911 would you get the Springfield mil spec GI 1911 or the SR1911 from ruger I'm stuck between the two

  • I'd go for the Ruger. They are super-nice, and made in the USA.

  • @Gunblastdotcom ok i think i will get that one i did want one that was made in the USA and have always liked ruger firearms thanks

  • I have one of these, it's the only 1911 I've ever handled. Is it normal for the slide to be fairly hard to rack? And I can't cock the hammer with one hand, it takes to much to make it move?! I'm not a weak little guy, it just has a lot of tension to it.

  • That is normal.

    jeff

  • 100% made in the USA. This is my next pistol. I'm going to be stimulating that economy. The question is if I should do it before or after the election.

  • @jbranstetter04 Buy it now, it can only go up if and likely when Obama gets re-elected. Not that it really should because there's really no basis for it but people will try to make money any way they can. These wont fall under any bans or anything so the price shouldn't be effected even if you do wait.

  • @pac6010 I kind of lied. Yesterday I bought an old break-open 38 S&W for $50. In a way it doesn't really count. I'm still going to use my money that I let the government have all year in the form of tax overpayment. It should cover both guns and a lot of ammo and accessories. The problem is that I can't find the gun anywhere. It's the same as when I wanted to buy my Ruger .380 a couple of years ago, had to get on a waiting list, and now I see them all over the gun shows for cheap.

  • @jbranstetter04 Ya I was looking into getting one myself but I hear they are having supplier problems that's why nobody has them. They sell fast then they cant get them back in stock fast enough. You will find one eventually if you put your name on enough lists or you could always get a Rock Island or a Springfield.

  • @pac6010 I'll checkout the Springfield's, although for some reason I really want a Ruger. I've always liked Ruger's since my first rifle and pistol that I bought were Ruger's, a 10-22 and a Mark II 22. I can still remember walking into the hardware store and pointing to the Mark II and saying, I want that pistol, then I bought it. It was a thing of beauty....still is.

  • would it be safe to carry condition 1 even tho it dosent have a hamer drop safety or would u have to carry it camber empty? thanks for tne info

  • Carry it chamber loaded, safety "ON".

    Jeff

  • Buy one? I'm goin' for two of em. One thing does one thing. Two things do four things. Think about it.

  • @misterfats123 where did u purchase your talo edition

  • Great review, very detailed too. Thanks again

  • Very nice handgun. Thanks for the review.

  • Great job on the description. You are very concise, answered all my questions for this gun and hit the nail on the head with the one piece bar stock explanation.

  • After seeing this weapon shot I have to buy one.

  • ordering mine today thanks for the review......looks like a great 1911 and all made in usa is important to me too

  • @Gunblastdotcom Which would you choose between the SR1911, and Smith and Wessons SW1911, I'm trying to decide, before I go through the horrible licencing process here in S.A. I have liked the SW1911 since it came out, but they both seem like great guns??

  • They are both excellent pistols. I would find out which is easier to get there, as the Ruger is in very high demand in the US, and pretty hard to find.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thanks, according to the agents here they are expecting their first shipment in January/February, they just can't confirm how many!!

  • any chance of a compact 1911 from ruger anytime soon?

  • I do not know, but if i had to guess, i have my doubts. Ruger could be selling twice as many of the SR1911 pistols than they can currently produce, so are busy filling those orders first.

    Jeff

  • @deafdeal3r

The Ruger rep at the Gun Show in Houston mentioned it was in their future. FAR in the future, but was a consideration, possibly 18-24 months away. That was the very first question I had, whether they would come out with a 3" model.

  • @rasey077 thanks, that will be an awesome welcome home gift when i get home in two yrs......that was great news

  • I just got the talo sr1911 I payed 850 for it was that a price can you give me some more info on that talo edi i love the way it looks .do you think i should shoot it or put it up to go up on money

  • @misterfats123 my talo sr1911 came with 3 mag not 2 is that wright

  • Good price. Shoot it and enjoy it.

    jeff

  • What kind of holster is at the end?

  • That's a Range Master holster from Simply Rugged Leather - simplyrugged-dot-com. Please see the referenced review for more info and detailed pictures.

  • The SR1911 is a fun all around gun. But very difficult to find. It took my Brother in law over 5 months to finally git his hands on one, and even then we still had to drive 1/2 way across Michigan. But like I said it was well worth the wait for him.

  • We spoke to Ruger about this at NASGW. They are simply having trouble keeping up with demand, but they are adding additional production lines just for the SR1911. They should be readily available soon.

  • Just bought mine today as a bday gift to myself, I love it, and it's really accurate.

  • Whats your opinion on this 1911 compared to the SA Mil Spec A1 SS?

  • I prefer the Ruger. Realy built well, very accurate, and made in the USA. For a Brazilian 1911, I prefer the Taurus to the Springfield.

    Jeff

  • Comment removed

  • @Gunblastdotcom Sweet I sold my Mil Spec SS and using funds to buy this Ruger SR1911. I have my name on several lists. GT dist has them for $609 but said it my be 6 months! Where can I pick one up today for $650 or under? Checked galleryofgunsDOTcom and they did not have any.

  • Demand is greatly exceeding supply. Ruger has an entire line dedicated to building only the SR1911, and they are adding another line that should be up and running late this year.

    jeff

  • Ruger 1911 is very attractive.

  • Great relatively inexpensive option for a 1911! This is my tax return purchase for next year. lol

  • This guy is awesome.

  • All american made is indeed important, but I also noticed your hat. I own a CK30 Kioti and love it. I also intend to buy the first SR1911 I see.

  • I have a DK55c. Excellent tractor, and I love the cab!

    Jeff

  • When will these be available to the public?

I've never seen one in a gun store.

  • They are available now. Check other gun stores, or you can buy online at galleryofguns-dot-com.

  • I'll take one! :-)

  • Please let us know if Ruger is planning on making a blued steel version of this fine pistol. Great video. Thank you.

  • Thank you for a great review. I was just looking at purchasing another 1911. Q.

  • Rugers are my guns ever since my first 22

  • Is it American made?

  • Absolutely.

  • this look alot like the Smith And Wesson 1911 Version

  • that is a beautiful gun

  • I am looking to buy my first 1911 very soon. This may be the one.

  • ALL Parts Made in the USA.....Thats all I need to know when picking a 45. This gun is a BUY ! Thanks for posting this video !

  • Thank you, Jeff. I can't wait until I am legally able to purchase and own handgun, especially this one.

  • The SR1911 looks like a mighty fine pistol.

  • Great info 5*****

  • Nice you're left handed. I want to get one of these

  • I called every shop around and no one can get this gun. I ended up with a Smith and Wesson 1911.

  • I like this gun, also looking at the Remmington R1 and spring field. Do you have a opinon on these other models.

  • They are both very good pistols.

    Jeff

  • Can we expect an officer or commander sized offering from Ruger at some point?

  • Looks like a nice gun. I just bought a Springfield 1911 A-1 loaded in stainless today. I'm very pleased with it, except for the magazines that it comes with, they're not the best. How are the ones that come with the Ruger 1911?

  • Comes with two very good mags - one seven-shot and one eight-shot with extended base pad.

  • @Gunblastdotcom Nice. Thanks for the reply. I plan on picking up some better mags next time I get a chance. What kind do you recommend?

  • I like Metalform mags, and CDNN Investments has them on sale right now. CDNNinvestments-dot-com.

    Jeff

  • Are the wood grips on the Ruger 1911 Replaceable?

  • Yes, they are compatible with standard 1911 aftermarket grips.

  • Do you think they will make a ruger GI version?

  • I have no information on that, but I doubt it.

    Jeff

  • so is this ruger 1911 more reliable than the mk3? someone told me to avoid getting any of those guns. not that I need a gun just yet.

  • Both are very reliable, but with the Mark III, no pistol is more reliable than the ammo, and lots of 22 ammo on the market is junk.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom yeah that makes lots of sense. the mk3 is relatively cheap and you can get a bull barrel over the normal tapered one. and I think they have one with a 1911 type grip.

  • Hey Jeff, you seem to like this pistol a lot. Would you recommend it over the Remington R1 and Springfield G.I. 1911's?

  • Yes I would. All of those are good pistols, but the Ruger is 100 percent made in the USA.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thanks! i'm looking for my 1st 1911 but I think i'm going to wait for Ruger to make a blued version of this gun and hopefully it will be of equal quality and made in the same fashion.

  • Jeff another great video. I gotta quit watching yr videos cause its hurting my pocketbook. LOL

  • Great review and I gotta say I love that flag waving at the end!

  • Jeff, I am looking for a stainless USA made 1911, with an accessory rail. What would you recommend? thanks,

  • Smith & Wesson.

    jeff

  • @Beamlokr IS THE EXTRACTOR EXTERNAL OR INTERNAL?

  • Thanks, Jeff. Something else I have to buy now....

  • I'd heard Ruger was making frames for other companies for a long time. It makes sense for them to start making 1911's. All they need to make now is a pump action shotgun, and they'd have it all covered!

  • Great review! I'm inspired to go buy me one of these. Ruger sure had been doing a great job over the past few years. I bought an SR40 last fall and the gun is shockingly good, even compared to my Glock 22, M&P40 and my Springfield XD40.

  • SR1911 and SW1911 are real close. I would like to see a torture test, weather test and accuracy test between the 2. Then a show on how they can be made better without changing factory parts ( polish etc). The 1911 is reborn, I cannot get parts because everything is out of stock. Could shooting sports be coming back? I hope so and I hope my Titanium parts get here soon. The cool thing about 1911's is they can always be made better. RUGER makes very durable guns and you get your money's worth.

  • Great video. I've been looking for an all American made 1911 for my first 1911. I am proud to say that every "working" hand gun I own is American made I and intend to keep it that way.

  • Good for you, we need to support our American industry. The SR1911 will not disappoint.

  • whats the trigger pull on this gun?

  • Most run right at five pounds.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom thanx i heard something about it being ajustable so can u do it by ur self?

  • The trigger over-travel screw can be easily adjusted.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom thanx

  • Mr. Quinn thanks for the in depth honest review . I had a Springfield Armory Mil-spec that was finished in the U.S. but I had to sell it due to financial woes. I was the market for a 1911 again and I was tempted to go with SA agian but there no way of assuring that I would not get one that was finishes overseas. After watched your review I was impressed with Ruger's 1911I went to my fav shop paid a very reasonable price for a USA made Stainless steel pistol. Now the hard part is waiting.

  • I worked for ruger at the arizona plant for a while and would not buy any other semi-auto pistol from them. but the 1911 seems like they spent some time on it. I have not shot one yet but I wouldnt mind owning one

  • Did you really shoot that quick and that accurate at 20yards? Wow. You should compete! Have you had a chance to do an accuracy test?

  • I did an accuracy test. Look at the review on Gunblast.

    jeff

  • @mesohappy1234 yea this guy can shoot, hes probably been doin 3 times longer than ive been alive and im 18

  • The price sounded really good, and I love stainless steel and it is made in the States

I just hope it gets on the Cal approve list soon so I can finally have a .45 in my collection. (all my pistols are 9, 38 and 32 auto)

  • I just came to the realization that every handgun I own is a ruger except for 1. Ive never been a single brand kind of guy I just bought what I thought was the best gun for the value/reliability and it now just occured to me that they are all rugers except for one. I almost was going to buy a taurus pt1911 but now that ruger came out with this Im definetly going with the ruger.

  • When I was young, I didn't understand and appreciate the importance of American made. Now I do. Buy American and help keep America strong.

  • "Certain south American versions", Lol we all know who you are referring to. I am so glad ruger has made a All American 1911 that a 9 to 5 American can afford!!

  • @TheHobbyistChannel 9-5, eh? Dang, lucky you! :)

  • Hi Jeff. At the Gunsite shoot, did you see anyone accidently drop the magazine because the mag release is extended too much? Do you think this would be an issue if the pistol is carried inside the waistband? Thanks! Love the vids! God bless!

  • I never noticed anyone having that problem. In a proper holster, it should cause no problem at all.

    Jeff

  • Great video.I think this is my next pistol.is it picky with what ammo it will feed?hollow points?

  • Fed and fired everything that I had available to put through it.

    Jeff

  • Great video.I think this is my next pistol.

  • I do not know, but if I had to guess, I would bet against it.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom

Thanks for the reply. I would like to see more USA companies make the double stack. I have a Para P-14 frame with a Colt MK IV Series 80 Stainless Slide. Some do not like the firing pin block of the Series 80 but I do not mind the block, in my mind it is a extra level of saftey. I want a made in USA milled Stainless frame for that Colt Slide.

  • Do you think they will make a double stack hi-cal version?

  • Should I trade in my Colt Series 80 Stainless and get this one? Seems better built.

  • Comment removed

  • Nothing wrong with owning two pistols.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Well said! As a person coming from the sad state of California, I am very happy with the thought of owning multiple firearm despite the venom from my fella countrymen here! God bless you, and the USA!

  • @garzacapitalist Do you haev concealed carry in Cali?

  • @valflyinf you cant do anything in cali.

  • @glock1963 Not true at all, matter of fact there are things in California that you cannot do elsewhere. The only thing wrong I see with that state is the lack of concealed carry laws. They are just a little weird about guns considering the fact that criminals will always be armed no matter what. LA prime example.

  • @rjake61 You cant go wrong with Ruger. Owned the sr9 and own the GP100 6 inch. Dream guns. If I had enough time to shoot I would get this one and not any other 45.

  • I have never been a 1911 fan but I will own this one based on two reasons. 1. It's a Ruger, I love their weapons and have never had a problem with their customer service. 2. it says MADE IN AMERICA right on it in plain view...gotta love it. Thanks for the review.

  • Jeff, I've been reading your reviews for years and I really enjoy them. Thanks for doing what you do, brother.

  • I really enjoyed this video. Good to see Ruger making this!

  • Awesome video! Definitely looking to get this as my first gun!! I live in WI and we might have concealed carry soon, so I might just have to get a second! Love the flag at the end!!!!

  • Thanks! Very Very nice!!!

  • great review Jeff!! And good shooting as always!

  • Outstanding shooting. What weight ammo were you using ? Ball round ?

  • 230 grain Remington ball.

    Jeff

  • Can't wait to get my hands on one!

  • Ruger got it right. I will be buying one of these before the year is up. I will buy a quality American made 1911 before I ever buy a Springer or any other non-USA 1911.

    Thank you Mr. Quinn.

  • Nice video, EPIC beard. Subbed :)

  • do you prefer this one or the GI springfield.

  • I prefer the Ruger.

  • 100% American is very important. I might have to pick one up.

  • Damn nice gun for the money.

  • I have to have it!

  • Any SW1911 videos?

  • nice looking gun..to bad they have to put the safety warning on it..ruins the nice lines and look to it..

  • I think Ruger is going in the right direction, but I think they made a mistake dicontinuing their alloy frame p-series line. No if they would only release a pump-action shotgun...mmm...a whole Ruger arsenal...

  • @VanDaRifleman idk how many times if wished the same thing..ruger bolt, semi, handgun, revolver,.22..and shotty haha their def my favorite gun manufacture

  • Accuracy is very very impressive on this 100% US gun !

  • nice video, looks like i'll be buying one when they put a rail on it, can't beat ruger quality, i'm a fan. thanks

  • it started with the 10/22 for me, now the SR40 .. and soon my wallet is going to hate me :D

  • Nice. I hope they make a blued version without the two-tone stuff. Although it is tastefully done, I'm not a fan of two-tone guns.

Now, I have to admit I'm skeptical that the target was shot at 20 yards. That small of a group, at that speed. You should consider having the video shot continuously from behind, where you walk up to the target with the cameraperson afterwards, to shut up the nay-sayers like me. :)

  • If I was going to lie, I would have stated that it was 100 yards. I do not lie. No reason to do so.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom

lol people making those idiotic comments don't make sense how about they start believing people by default until they have a reason not too excellent youtube channel you have and a great website as well

  • Wow, that Ruger SR1911 is quite a looker! Looks almost as good as the Kimber Customs at half the price! It's just sad that I live in CA and have to wait for the SR1911 to be approved, if it ever does :( All these damn gun laws are making me want to become a republican!

  • @mkygod Single Shot Exemption Conversion. Look up some FFL's who might do this for you. It's a way to get off roster handguns in CA.

  • nice

  • Meh, I'd prefer something akin to the springfield milspec...but actually made in the US.

  • God bless the USA - this is going to be my next pistol... your beard rocks by the way.

  • Just want to say love the videos, and love the 'come and take them' flag waving at the end too.
