  • Did u het a deer ...i did i live in vermont

  • A lightweight space blanket would be a worthy addition along with some 100mph tape for repairs or to tape the muzzle of your rifle when its wet or dusty.I find my deer hunting load out is a little heavier these days but I think that at least I am a lot better prepared if I were lost or injured.

  • Gerber made the a ultimate survival knife that bear grylls use they sell it walmart and I going to buy on black friday

  • nice selection of items, but in case you get lost or take a deer at dusk, how do you find your way back to the truck/camp, after dark ?

you dont have any led headlamp or torch. not to mention some spare batteries for your etrex,...

also carry a small UHF radio to keep in touch with other party members,...

a $5 spaceblanket could save your life on a cold nite, if you are lost in the forest,...

  • Pretty good. Only thing I would add is at least one other way to start a fire. The lighter is good but "Two is one, and one is none."

  • The bible paper is outstanding fire tinder. When you're shit out of luck, that bible could save your life. It a very nice item carry for the woods. Plus they are often handed for free at various place of whoreship.

  • do you use any bug spray or no???

  • Not everyone uses them but what about some latex gloves for the successful hunter? I also carry a battery powered glow stick that flashes (Home Depot 3/$10)so if I am tracking a deer I can hang it in the area I shot from to know what way to come back.

  • Glad you disclosed, even if not necessary. I have the same Gerber my wife gave me, only thing I don't like about it is it is so heavy. In my opinion, you should change the way you wrap your cord to take advantage of space. Most round objects do not do that. Good Vid, keep it up!

  • Great info thanks for sharing.

  • lots of great info thanks i add my cell phone in my kit also.

  • @hogkillerjp Thats a good Idea. get one of those Prepaid ones just in cause you smart Phone goes dead. Course I don't Hunt I train in the woods for Airsoft a lot those. I like to Find a Small Koran also.

  • kjv was published in 1611. what do you suppose folks used before that?

  • @xenoptryx if you are referring to an English version it would have been the Geneva Bible. It was not until The Council of Trent (1545-1563) that the canonized Bible was determined by the Roman Catholic church. Before that i suppose it was the Septuagint. Which is a Greek version. Before that I suppose you would have had to do what MANY should do now and that is seek the elders! You had the Torah and then all the prophets. There is a Old and New testament Apocrypha that was not canonized!

  • @xenoptryx the kjv he has in this video is not the 1611 kjv..i love when people say that they only read the original kjv..most of them couldnt even understand the 1611..xeno, im not saying ur one of these people, i was just responding to the 1611 comment..

  • the bible why did u mention the internationl version?they have on one i thought there was only the old and new

  • Nice set up!

  • what is your deer rifle?

  • nuts

  • what if it snows? lucky guys hunting in warm weather.

  • All the way with the KVJ..

  • great looking kit

  • great video kev! :)

i would think about adding a firesteel(lighters are crappy when wet, and do wear out), and a ziploc bag with a few first aid items.

  • Thank you for this Kev! -- I've been trying to take way yonder too much stuff! Gettin' too old for the pack mule routine!

  • Good to cya again brother, another great vid! Thanks.

  • Was that Bible both the Old and New Testaments or the New Testament with Psalms and Parables? Good fortune out hunting!

  • Great vid.

  • nice, good luck ou there and be safe, take care.

  • you oughtta throw in a small birthday candle or two, you can use the light if you find a deer that youve been tracking and its too dark to gut it properly. also you can start a fire with it

  • Is that the only water that your carry or do you carry something else?

  • No tp??

  • I personally hate Gerber.

  • Not bad, agree with the first aide? Dont like reviews with gifts just my opinion though, otherwise great vid as always kev !

  • It makes me feel really good to know that someone I watch on youtube carries a bible. I am a follower of christ myself God bless and great video Bro.

  • WOW - Just getting back from Elk hunting myself, I think I have seen it all now. No First aid, I'm guessing the mutli tool is your back up blade. I hope you sharpened up the main blade. Keep your lighter dry.

  • Great vid! GOD BLESS!

  • No first aid?

  • nice

  • AMEN! on the KJV!

  • At barnes and noble there is a Outdoor New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs-KJV-God's Country Sportsman that looks sort of cool. Check that out.

  • Where did you get that bible? I'd to get myself something like that. Nice day carry too.

  • @elbauzan - I bought that bible from a store in Beaumont Texas in the early 1990s. I have been unable to find another one exactly like it.

  • @survivalistboards When I was in the army I received bibles like that periodically. Also most military PXs have them for sale.

  • @elbauzan

This may help. There's a small version of the Waterproof bible. When I say water proof I mean read it underwater and it's fine. :)

  • thanks for the disclosures, nice of you to include them.

  • Just curious, im not a Christian, would you use the bible to start a fire too?

Im talking in a survival situation where its all you have.

  • @JoeDurobot I think there are blank pages he maybe would use.

  • @JoeDurobot I am a Christian and I would use pages out of the bible to save a life. That copy of the word of God is just that a copy. I purchase extra small new testaments just to have on me in the woods. I am sure that Kev's reasoning is the same.

"The word of God hath I hid in my heart ..." It is more important that the word of God be in me, believed by me and acted on by me, than a copy of it found in pristine condition in the pocket of my frozen corpse.

  • @TheGrayman1234 I would think the same if I believed in god.

You would be just burning pages and paper, not the actual meaning of words.
