  • this is getting more interesting as we go back and forth. I lived at 1319-A Ponape. E-mail me at tth6830439@aol com so we can figure out who each other is

  • I used to live on Ponapei street right across from the field that the superfort and teen club and pool were on. I played football with Kenny White and Ernie Pinder. I was on the Rams and we lost the championship to the Bears against Rick Dolbear and ? Joiner. {cant remember everyones name} I lived across from Gail Berger and next to the Bird's {Pam and her brothers}. I used to listen to Burlington express practice. They were the next block over. Good times!!!

  • yes, I too went to Dededo, I was an office assistant to the secretary June Evangelista. The others in our band was Terry Farnham-lead guitar, Tom Farnham-keyboard, Steve- I can't remember his last name- bass, and Mel Vaughn-singer. Mel was a black airman . Do you remember Steve Fausch that played lead guitar for the Watch Band, who drowned at Tarague Beach? I used to run around with Mike Burke and John Carroll. Mike is in NYC, and John was killed in a car wreck in New Mexico in the 80's

  • @peepintom2 I believe Terry had a White Telecaster and a Fender bassman. A guy named Jerry Welch bought the same rig. I do remember Steve drowning at Tarague. He was a great guitar player. John Carroll had just bought the Beatle White album when I met him and he showed me some Guitar he had picked off of it. I had just started playing at that time. I hate to hear about John. He was a nice guy and a good player also. I can't place Mike Burke but that name sounds real familiar. Hafa Adai!

  • anyone remember the teen club on andersen from 68-70? bands-burlington express, the watch band, yellow brick road? i was the drummer in yellow brick road, sure do miss those times and the island and all my friends

  • @peepintom2 I was on Guam from may 68 till May 70. I remember Burlington Express and those blue shirts they had. Dale Ball played in a band in Louisiana named Magenta that was real good after he left Guam. I do remeber Yellow brick road also but can't place who was in the band. We probably went to school together at Dededo as I am 56 also. Those were good times.

  • @peepintom2 Yes I remember the teen club! My dad was stationed at Andersen from 68 to 70. I went to the Navy Hospital with the Burlington Express on a CYO trip to hang out with wounded Vets Christmas time 1969.

  • My dad was Vap 61....I can remember the "funeral procession" to the O CLUB when Vap 61 was decommisioned (not sure if that's the right word for it" and I believe it was then combined with VW1, possibly? I was around 11 or 12 at the time and remember that someone had "wisely" added a water buffalo to the funeral procession....I believe that I remember that they brought the beastie into the O club, where it promply had an accident on the carpet....

  • Wow, Agana as I remember it...such a nice piece of sea duty.

  • Thank you for posting this. My Dad was in the Air Force Stationed on Guam when I was born at the Navy Hospital in 1960. My Mom and Dad do not have very many pictures of their time on Guam so I am thrilled to see the ones you have posted in your video. Thank you again!

  • Really enjoyed the pictures, brought back many memories. I was on Guam during the same time period, July 67 to Dec 68. I was a Hospital Corpsman, (HM-3) and assigned at the field hospital at Asan Annex. Have 'google earth' tryng to find the Annex but apparently one of the typhoons or progress has wiped it out. If you have time respond back with your details of your time on Guam.

  • Great pictures! But it's not Andrews AFB, it's Andersen. Thanks for uploading this!

  • OOPPSS - I guess I live to close to Dc.

I'll correct it and repost the show.

    thanks

  • 1:09 is actually someplace in Agat, not Tumon Bay...nice vid though :]

  • I'm happy that you uploaded this video!
