  • So this guy thinks Precious is racist, but Norbit and Little Man aren't? No professional critic can make these statements, mean them, and expect to be taken seriously. How exactly did he graduate with a film degree again?

  • sarcasm.

  • What Armond White actually said. "Excellent recent films with black themes—Next Day Air, Cadillac Records, Meet Dave, Norbit, Little Man, Akeelah and the Bee, First Sunday, The Ladykillers, Marci X, Palindromes, Mr. 3000, even back to the great Beloved (also produced by Oprah)—have been ignored by the mainstream media and serious film culture while this carnival of black degradation gets celebrated." So that's 10 more movies than Mark Kermode mentioned. He's not a serious critic.

  • Little Man? Sorry Precious was tough and hard going but it was well made, well acted and the story was true to life.

Little man was racist, sexist, heightist, ageist and an insult to the cinema.

  • Armond White is a genius and you just don't understand him.

  • @SagaciousSilence Being able to use the thesaurus on Microsoft Word and using in on every third word doesn't make you a genius.

  • You know, just like Armond White, I actually have disagreement with critics sometimes. I can't think of a lot off the top of my head, but I remember that I actually liked Old Dogs and Tooth Fairy. Anyway, why is it that people do hate them movies?

  • america has white we have kermode.

  • Anyone who knows what a troll is and knows who Armond White is knows that he's a troll. He's as much a 'movie critic' as Christian Bale is Batman.

It just happens that he writes for a very popular newspaper, where a lot of people who don't know about trolls read him and get angry, because they don't know that's exactly what he wants. His 'reviews' are just a way to piss people off and boost his fragile ego, same as any other troll. Ignore him, and hopefully he'll go back to flipping burgers.

  • Armond White is the man

  • Armond White: Possibly the most successful troll ever.

  • Armond White is batshit crazy.

  • Armond White is quite possibly the most careless, incompetent and offensively irresponsible film critic working in the industry today.

  • Armond White is merely moulding himself on the likes of Pauline Kael however Kael's criticism was usually genuine. White is pursuant of sensational and utterly pretentious diatribes regarding the state of consumerism and popular media in the USA instead of reviewing a film on its own technical merits, so I don't take him seriously. Bluntly stated, White's a highly paid troll.

  • Armond White is a troll, and everyone falls for it. Dismiss him as you would any other troll

  • Armond's against consumerism in movies (Toy story 3) but loves Jonah Hex? This man needs a new job, I hope nobodies truly taking this guy seriously. His favorite films are: Step Up, Norbit, Meet Dave, movies of this shitty caliber.

  • Armond White is scum. He has no taste in films. He gave a bad review of Toy Story 3 and Inception but gave a good review to Norbit and Jonah Hex?! What?!

  • armond white liked jonah hex

  • Armond White is a professional troll. He gets paid to troll for the New York Post.

  • To any White haters, I wrote a parody on Armond White that I posted on NY Films Review Examiner. Go to google and click the Art of Trolling: How You Could Be the Next Armond White

  • Armond White tries way too hard. I was just listening to him on /filmcast basically saying that Michael Bay is a better film-maker than Christopher Nolan. He does these things just to get attention- and it works. Mark Kermode on the other hand is my favourite movie critic.

  • @certificate18flix i fully agree :)

  • @nixsogutstudios It's a shame that there is still room for someone like him in the world of film criticism. He's an intelligent guy who seems intent on making dumb statements. I may not always agree with Kermode, but he is thoughtful and intelligent and knows good a good film when he sees one. Armond White on the other hand exists solely to go against the grain. Michael Bay a better filmmaker than Christopher Nolan? I mean, come on! He ran rings round the /filmcast guys though, unfortunately.

  • Norbit...Jesus, this man lives in bizarro land: Norbit supports positive stereotypes of black people? Norbit? Lord...

  • apparently armond white surely does get the attention he seems to want. how about you people getting a life?

  • I HATE ARMOND WHITE HE SAID TOY STORY 3 HAD THE SAME PLOT AS TRANSFORMERS 2

  • @skaterk11 Well he is a satire reviewer. Would you take Stephen Colbert seriously in his criticisms of Liberals?

  • @Sloth7d fuck you

  • @nixsogutstudios Haha, peace and love bro. =)

  • @skaterk11 and mr white liked transformers 2

  • @skaterk11 Dude Armond White gave Transformers 2 a fresh rating while giving Toy Story 3 a negative one he's an IDIOT!!

He also gave The Dark Knight, and Inception a negative review while giving a fresh review to Jonah Hex and G.I. Joe

Okay yes every human being has the right to their own opinion but this. No rational human could ever think that way and if one does that human is retarded No he's even lower than retard cuz even a retard doesn't think like that. He's an asshole.

  • @skaterk11

Not to mention he called Lotso Huggin' Bear "Lotsa Hugs".

  • @skaterk11 Very late, I know, but this is strange since he liked TF2... a lot!

  • 0:30 ... Armond White speaks highly of NORBIT!? Are you fucking kidding me?

  • @SeeYouNextTuesday0 Even Jonathan Ross said Norbit was 'poisonous'. And he thought Dr. Doolittle 2 was one of the all-time great family films.

  • of*

  • Wheres Kermodes review or Toy Story 3?

  • @SpideyFan1993 he has not reviewd it yet

  • @SpideyFan1993 he has reviewed it now. he calls toy story the best trilogy of all time ^_^. speaks very highly of it. funnily enough, armond white gave toy story 3 a bad review. such a tool

  • Verbatim? Mark Kermode is bullshit, he only says the three most questionable picks from Armond's list of "excellent recent films with black themes" which includes Next Day Air, Cadillac Records, Meet Dave, Norbit, Little Man, Akeelah and the Bee, First Sunday, The Ladykillers, Marci X, Palindromes, Mr. 3000 and Beloved Yes, some of those choices are iffy, but White's not nearly as crazy as everyone says he is. Next Day Air truly is a great film that would of gone unappreciated if not for White

  • @hirschhorn Have you even READ Armond White's reviews? He is contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. His reviews are only meant to drive traffic to the New York Press. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but if you look closely at what he writes you'll find what he says to be highly laughable. He bashed film studios like Pixar because they make popular films, and to White that's "capitalism." However, in his review for Avatar, he bashes it for "giving capitalism a bad name."

  • @captpan6 You fucking rule, dude. Seriously. Fuck Armond White and fuck anyone who agrees with him or defends him. His "reviews" are like you said contrarian for the sake of being contrarian.

  • @hirschhorn No, just no. Norbit is far beyond questionable: it savagely stereotypes black culture, as many Eddie Murphy films do.
