To end all argument:

Chrona's gender is UNDEFINED! In the manga it says Chrona is a girl, now if you read the English translation manga, the translator (on select sites) believes Chrona is a girl. Now it may vary. As for the anime, the directors wanted an easy solution so they announced Chrona as a boy. I believe Ookuba said himself that he has not and probably will not reveal Chrona's true gender. Now idk if he did say it but for right now CHRONA'S GENDER IS UNDEFINED!!!

As for Carona's gender...The creators say he is genderless witch makes sense because in some episodes he appears more girly then in others.
