  • hmmm filipino to si brader heheheh

  • Helping Me Alot , Thank You.

  • Thanks for this video i have my car for a week now the first 3 days no one teach me i just doit my self I used to drive an automatic for more than 10 years is a lot better to have a manual the only problem is if you are on the fw and there is traffic i get a honda si 2002. good car.

  • Thanks for the video, i found it extremely helpful!

  • @barleybosh same here, hopefully I'll get my car by April

  • I need to prepare for my new car...

  • If you do downshift when slowing down the engine doesn't take any fuel, this happens also when you go downhill with a gear on

  • question, are you in an evo by any chance?

  • um the no gas method doesn't seem to work with my car.... i looked and slowly let go waiting for it to go... it just stalled..

  • Thank you watching these video's is making me understand how to drive a stick alot better... Thank you

  • good videa tutorial :)

  • Thanks for this video :)

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! :D

  • when u shift do u have to let off the gas then press the cluch and then shift?

  • In my Honda which is a 4 speed I can "wiggle" the shifter even in gear. I asked some mechanics about it and they said that it's the way it was designed. What's your opinion?

  • i always bunny hop its laaaame

  • ive got my driving test tomorrow but my instructor got a new car and i just cant get the hang of it i keep stalling every time i go and try and take off its so annoying i cant find the point in which the car starts to take off.

  • THIS GUY LOOKS LIKE A STALKER

  • Most helpful manual transmission video I've seen. Thank you very much :)

  • if you're shifting up, do you have to let go of accelerate, or can you keep the pressure, while clutching, shifting, then letting go of clutch?

also, when you are going from reverse to first, do you have feet down on clutch and brake, then shift to first, then switch right foot to accelerate, then let go of clutch slowly while foot is pressing lightly down on accelerate?

  • @halopwnmaster ur comment is a lil confusing x) but from what i see in the vid you take your foot off the gas then clutch then shift up then gas + let go of the clutch.

and yeah that sound correct for going from reverse to first

  • @HaRdCoreDgk

haha thanks, and sorry i had to make you decode that.

  • @halopwnmaster shifting up with gas n clutch its the worse thing you could do it will decrease the life of ur clutch n if ur trying to go fast as in like a drag race or sumthing like that shift faster

take it into nutral then hold clutch shift to 1st n slowly let off n put a little bit of gas as if u were taking off in an automatic

  • @foriegnkidmusic ohh ok i see. thanks for the clarification.

  • before watching this vid , my knowledge bout cars was 0 . Thank u , it was very useful .

    X

  • Nice sound to that car what is it?

  • how much did those pedal covers cost?

  • Hey nice tutorial :D

  • Manuel.. manuel.. who cares.. blah blah blah.. I drive a manuel I'm better than you blah blah, get a life fuckhead..

  • i just got my first car yesterday and its a manual and damn is it hard staring from a dead stop into first gear. its frustrating as hell but fun.

  • @TheAlexLeko what car is it?

  • @GoDzxFuRy 2007 mazda 3

  • @TheAlexLeko it's easier to take off in second, or for me it is.

  • @TheAlexLeko i know what you mean. i just started yesterday and im already on the roads. I got it down with the starts but i get the occasional stalls and it's damn right embarrassing but never have i had more fun driving a car.

  • @axelfbomber yezzir

  • @CCAASSSCCAAAA ya I heard downshifting just makes it so the axels can't move so fast and results in torquing your engine that's nice for going up steep hills, but I have paddle shift so it may matter on standard?

  • @RM13CRIP take your foot off the gas and put the clutch to the floor and than shift and release the clutch

  • do you change gear with your foot still on the gas? or do you need to take it off to change gear? someone tell me please

  • Thank you !!!!!!!!

  • Since when does downshifting hurt the transmission? I can see if you don't rev match the car before downshifting it can put wear on the drive train but rev matching and letting the car's engine vacuum do a lot of the braking is safe.

That technique saves brakes and gas (in some vehicles). And when used with the normal brakes of the car, shorter braking distances (which is good when you're trying to stop before hitting something).

Seeing that this is a BEGINNER videos I will let it slide =P

  • Dude where do you live? my streets are so damn hilly.

  • If I only had a stick shift at hand while watching this video...

  • @ThinkerSociety try using your d**k

  • @TheAlexLeko good idea...oh wait I have none *awkward*

  • @ThinkerSociety so are you a female?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAlexLeko It shouldn't make a difference in the case of driving, but since you're asking, the answer's yes.

  • @ThinkerSociety i was just wondering

  • @ThinkerSociety I think its called your penis

  • @ThinkerSociety just use ur penis thats what im doing

  • thanks a lot!!!!!!!! really helpful!

  • safe this help me alot thx

  • this really helps a lot!

  • what car is it?

  • watching this video makes me miss both driving and driving manual :(

  • hey, do u need to hold the clutch to start the car in when in nuetral?? or is that only if starting in first gear

  • @r0manraven press clutch, (start car) release clutch make sure its in nuetral when you let go of the clutch.

  • yeh pilipino!

  • this reallyhelped.thxa mill

  • basically,i like this guy,and yes im not gay

  • Nevermind

  • When u stop in first gear do you have to mash the clutch back in

  • U don't need to press the clutch down to start the car if ur in neutral. If ur in gear then yes u do. But not when it's in neutral

  • @1994JoeTurner really i always thought you had to do that at start. yeah your right though i never thought of that. well im also a beginner at stick shift anyway.

  • Ok! i was wondering if i should get a automatic jeep or stick, i want a manual, i had no idea b4 this video how to drive stick

  • i wonder how are you recording while your driving? hella pinoy hahha

  • 09:36 did you hit a child? nah just kidding, this helped me a lot, Thanks!

  • he's driving a 2g eclipse, i just bought one standard, nervous as fuck to start drving it >.<

  • @Se7enxNinja Same here..gonna buy one this week standard..hope i dont mess it up on the first try XD!!...

  • really the trick in using a manual trans is getting a feel for the clutch pedal. Even though i have been driving stick shift for 26 years if i drive a type or make of car with a manual transmission i never driven before it takes a short while to shift it like a pro. I suppose this has to do with that certain makes have long clutch pedal travel and the amount of pressure to depress the clutch pedal also varies with certain makes as well.

  • He says basically a lot.

  • This is a good basic video on this subject. I hope viewers who are new to driving a manual transmission car will recognize that this video does not address conditions such as needing to downshift when going uphill or when moving in traffic that requires slowing down to a point where a lower gear must be used.

  • @farmpondfun Or you can do what My Mum Did, Teach me how to drive a manual out in the rural area's then I drove for the rest of the time on my L's (in NSW Australia we have 4 stages of License L's (learner) P1 (Red's) P2 (greens) Full unrestricted License takes 4 years to go from L's to full license) drove an auto then got my red P's mum bought me a manual Car in the middle of No where took off with Nan and said Now you drive home (and I live in the blue mountains twisty and Hilly worked it out)

  • you would think troy polamalu would have a fancier car...

  • what car do you have?

  • car lessons with manny pacquiao

  • useful video ... thank u

  • You did a good job videoing this yourself .

  • nice clip on racing pedals! lol, u get those from wals-marts bro? those must add atleast 2.5 hp!?!?!

  • for a 4 cylinder u shift gears at 3 or 4 rpm

    for a 6 cylinder u shift gears at 2.5 or 3.5rpm

for a 8 cylinder u shift gears at 2 rpm

  • @8747800 Such absolute statements are silly. The rpm at point of shifting varies depending on the situation. How quickly does the driver need to accelerate? If mild acceleration fits the situation and driver's preference, a 4-cyl engine can quite nicely be shifted below 3K rpm. Also, your statements about 4, 6, & 8 cyl engines is, I believe, not necessarily true.

  • @farmpondfun ok, belive wat u belive.

  • So when you brake just depress the clutch and brake as normal, THAN downshift when your completely stopped?

  • this is only for disel

  • @dan82tl no. every fuel-injected engine will rev up when the revs are dropping below idle. i can do this on 71 hp 110 nm lada.

  • @0fg4 What point are you trying to make? Are you saying the driver does not need to use the gas peddle to increase rpm? If so, that's non-sense. Normal driving of a manual trans car does require increase of rpm via pressure on the gas peddle right at the moment the clutch peddle has been released to the "friction-point".

  • @farmpondfun I said that it's possible to start moving without the gas pedal. I didn't say you should do it.

  • @dan82tl No, it has nothing to do with gas vs. diesel. Obviously, the vehicle in the video is a gas-powered car.

  • it is very useful thanks for your effort

  • nice pedals!

  • awesome vid! thanks :)

  • He seems so bored, lol.

  • Thanks for the upload!

  • Don't you need to let go of the gas when shifting? And then put in clutch ??

  • nice filipino flag im filipino too

  • THANKS FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO.IT WAS VERY HELPFULL

  • I thought the video was helpful, I plan on buying a Civic Si and I need to learn this.

  • Thanx... But YOU ARE SO BORING!!!!!!!

  • oi kababayan!!!!!

  • ur video sux bro

  • How r u holding d camera

  • Basically, this video helped me understand how to drive a manual car. I will basically say thanks!

  • @deviatea I agree, but this is a video for beginners. Those are more advanced techniques so they can learn those later. Also it's not really necessary to downshift every single gear and double clutch in everyday driving.

In fact, where I live there are lots of hills and It's safer downshifting while braking but I just use heel and toe to synchronize and I usually do just one downshift, as an example, if I'm in 5th gear I downshift to 3rd and then press the clutch again just before stopping.

  • than you, very helpful :P

  • wats the advantage to a manual car? speed^_^?

  • @christiansthename Fuel economy and effective shifting in order to reach speeds faster.

  • the other day for the first time i drove a manual... it sucked hard! it was a brand new ford ranger 3.0 disel engine 3,000 cc .... fucking stalled 4-5 times at the lights fml!

  • what genius put the reverse gear below 5th gear!. Reverse gear should be close to the 1st gear just incase the driver is new or not paying attention.

  • nice pedals, do you recomend putting a little gas then letting the clutch go slowly,

  • @05Mosh05 It needs to be done simultaneously.

  • When i change gear do i need to let go of the gas?

  • do u deliver takeaway ?

  • excellent video thank you. I drive motorcycle which are manual. So i just reverse the process right? hand is gears foot is clutch ? :)

  • what is that high pitched noise??!

  • Ones you try a stick car you don't want anything else. Also automatic cars suck because you can't make it to the full power in emergencys

  • @foreverblue04 yes I am... =)

  • @dgcpinoy slowly release the clutch while pressing down on the gas right?

  • @dgcpinoy Ganda ng makina ! ! !

  • @dgcpinoy what car was that it sounds awsome

  • @foreverblue04 lol that would explain the filipino flag hanging close to the end of the vid

  • alright i got all that down but how do you know 2 shift gears pls explain when 2 change gears

  • @bigpappabear69 Your car will let you know when to shift gears by the sound it makes.. Usually when your RPM goes up to around 3-5,000 you should shift up.... You should shift down when slowing down to a complete stop, or making quick turns, etc

  • I like the approach man. Hoping to pick up a manual Ranger soon and gotta know what to do for the test drive, lmao

  • omg parallel parking is gonna be a bitch

  • I guess im gonna need Stick Shift for dummies ...... or something

  • wait.... i have a question

so when you brake and you're about to put your stuff in park do you put your shift stick back at first gear or when do you put your shift in first gear
