@hibber25 Don't quote me on this, but I think the Japanese have a tendency to assume all foreigners speak english. (I'm basing this on a liner note for Excel Saga which said as much, not saying the Japanese all think Germans speak english or some nonsense.) I'd suspect it's a shortcut to make characters sound "European" without needing to coach voice actors in proper pronunciation and such.
