Yea, but the drum was tuned way to high to make it sound right, improvise a little to get it to sound right IMO.

Also the tenor part was wrong at the end, my HS played it as a solo with the rest doing what you guys did essentially, but there is much more to the end than that on tenor.

I understand where you coming from, but it's a memorial cadence made by FAMU, it would be disrespectful to "remix" any of the original parts. Our own original cadences however do try to implement technicality, creativity, and musicality. Unfortunately as of now only a mere few of our own pieces can be found on youtube and their what we consider warmups.

Out of all of the high schools that I've seen or heard play Duckmouth they performed it the best. Georgia high school lines south of Atlanta and North of Tallahassee cannot funk this cadence properly. The ATL schools don't run it as clean as this one did. They looked good doing it too. The basses are fine. They don't need to overplay

This line now uses longer lasting Remo heads with a better quality of sound that suits this line and their intentions well. We aren't trying to sound like ATL bass drums or anybody else. I assure you in this particular year this bass line would've shattered many others with their features, you could come at them with a whole lot of knock if that's what you're all about but when this bass line responds with their rolls, the winner would've obvious.

the version we play is diffrent, wayy diffrent.

but they have similar parts. but at the begining, snares play 8th notes alternating butt of the stick and head. and the tenor thing somewhere in the middle is longer and varies from this.

Duckmouth, someone who got shot or something, cadence resembles different type of guns firing off, R.I.P. Duckmouth, whoever they are.

Duckmouth's real name was George Saunders III. He graduated from Miami Central H.S. He came up to FAMU in 93 and he played toms until he was shot and killed in 95. The cadence was originally from Miami Central but it was revised by FAMU and dedicated to George. It is now 1 of 3 memorial cadences that FAMU plays along with Goolsby, and Q. Smith.
