wow, not bad at all! (i wish it was more drums, less of the other instrumental accompaniment that i found a little distracting when there's already two male singers.) but i think he totally gets the meter and musicality of it! very cool!
non-Koreans: i know it sounds harsh and WAY different from anything in modern music -- my parents don't even like it! but i love it!
I rather liked the performance. Korean folk singing is rather sorrowful, heartfelt, and indeed quite stirring. Reminds me a bit of the American blues and a bit of North American native singing/storytelling ...there must be connections there historically...wish I knew more... Really quite amazing. Thanks for uploading!
@filmtrav Yes it is. I think music has common thread amongst all its genre wherever its from. I always thought blues, Pansori and various folk musics have something in common in expression and how it stirs emotion from the core.
@Xentradi97 Well, a year after I posted this Comment I didn't expect a reply, but thank you for your thoughtful response. Yes, emotion from the core, indeed. I'm not a music student but it seems to me that a lot of music, literature, etc -- artistic works by all cultures springs from the need to express/storytell the harshness of life. Life is hard, there is suffering and perhaps there is also hope!
I can see that they need work especially the first guy, he didn't even come close in the beginning.

this is awful. they have no technique or control, and rather sound like they're yelling.
