OK OK OK! I give up, I'm a fan!!! I am a snooty guitar player. I only play through old guitars and amps (blues). You nailed it... not just the notes but the feel. I applaud you.
sounds great ~ very down-home/rootsy ... nice voice, too. post some more of your stuff, podnah ... i like your groove. btw, where y'at? if you're near topeka, kansas let's get together & jam.
Just had to stomp my foot & wipe a little tear from the corner of my eye there, thanks for that guena56!
@freddiefarr: Nah, not really b.s. about that, but the raw beauty of the tune & playing here, you can forgive those ghost-notes from behind the bar, they are kinda distracting & considered "bad technique" when it comes to steel playing, unless you're going for that sound. If he'd muted those the tune would've been flawless. But hey, the tune still really worked!
There's a version by him on a CD called (imaginatively)'Ry Cooder' - it's got him leaning against a chrome trailer/caravan & it's available from Amazon UK at a low price
technical perfection and the blues are mutually exclusive. it just doesnt work that way. all the greatest blues tunes ever recorded were 'flawed' bukka white, robert johnson, tampa red, they all dropped a few notes. thats WHY they are immortal.
good!!!!!!!

Don't listen to them about the fingers down stuff, at least on this tune, it sounds wonderful.

guena56, wonderful playing; sounds like the key Ry is playing in too.
What open tuning are you playing in?

Re: butter flavored crisco27 - that's b.s. about putting the fingers down. (he's not playing a Stratocaster)
think for yourself and don't be so smug.

Got to put those fingers DOWN behind the bar to stop all those awful squeeking noises! Other than that, a fine performance. Congrats!
