My Calais V-Spec with aftermarket twin-turbo setup and a neat Polk audio setup from a statesman make this car much faster than the G6E - it's also much better to look at..

@razehey The VF isn't going to be radically different - it's on the same floorpan and will share many of the mechanicals used now. GM keep their platforms for 10 years, so with the VE introduced in 2004, this model has many years left yet.

i don't think the RB20det is superior far from it. But you have to admit the VE is a brand new car pretty much with a 5.7L putting out well over 250KW what does it run a 1/4 mile??? my car is 18 years old with a 2L 165kw running a 13.8 with only a cat back exhaust, id would want to hope a brand my LS3 could beat a tiny 18 year old 2L engine.. thats all i was getting at.. but for the age and size of the engines small capacity engine jap cars do hold their own no one can deny that.

i have driven a lot.. just my personal opinion i feel they r too heavy and chunky i will agree they do pull hard.. but obviosuly need the 6L for the weight and they r not 1500kg try 1790kg to be exact and the calais is 1,825.. thats almost 2 tonne!.. im not hating on v8's just that big isnt always better just as turbo isnt always better.. have a NA r32 skyline with a RB20 2L vs a VE V SS with out the v8 and a 2L from an astra.... who do u think will win???

its a pointless argument, they are from two COMPLETELY different markets. One is a family saloon with a 6.0L and amazing pull for what it is. The other is a sports coupe' aimed at a performance market, hence why for a smaller size it makes good power. I love both markets, but you can't compare them like that.

Being that I had an EB-GT and that car pantsed pretty-much every Subaru Liberty or Impreza of the day, and that they pantsed any EB XR6 - I'd say you are full of shit.

You can't argue with the numbers - 1600Kg car with only 150 or so kW and a puny amount of tourque against a significantly more powerful V8.

I've just turbo charged a V6 Alloytech... Pantses pretty much any normally aspirated V8.

I just bought a brand new ss-v ute and its the best car i've had yet by far. The exaust sounds so mean. My mate used to work for ZF doing they're gearboxes and he says they are the best in the buisiness (automatic wise). SS-V utes need to be 6 speed manual becuase lets face it, its a mans car.
