again another stupid comparison between a little girl and a grown woman? Your voice changes when you reach certain age. As you can hear in this video Charice still has a child voice. Regine is in her prime voice I don't even know her until somebody gave me free ticket to see some Pinoy concert.

Regine's last album can still earn gold certification in one week, your idol's international album didnt even earn one here in Phil. Talk about numbers. lol! And in FN's last poll, Regine got more than 3x the number of Charice votes as best Filipina vocalists. even in dwindling state, Regine can beat Charice because until now she has a bigger fanbase.

@amorablee i am talking of regine's recent achievements and how she is maintaining her status as Phi's top diva until now that she's pregnant at 40. She remains the standard. The idol of idols. Singers joining diff. talent shows on tv are still mirroring her influence in singing. An evidence that RV's effect is still strong :D Cha doesn't bother me. I actually like her because she is my next bet compared to other young artists that we have now. She lacks commercial appeal lang talaga.

Anyway, the first Filipino act to land a top hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart was a group Rocky Fellers of Manila (1960). REAL first and having a consistently topping single sounds more of an achievement.

I think I have more credibility saying that since Im living here. in some instances she joined singing contests in nearby municipalities there wasn't a single chance that she went home with a top prize. well dont tell me that all the judges rigged the result, as well, cause she's supposed to be the best. lol
you do know OPRAH has everything money can buy... but to get into her heart and get her attention... not many people can do.. but charice can with her voice...

@istatowin2 lol her 1st us released album did good for a newcomer.. not everyone knows about charice yet... 1st us album and hit #8 on the billboard and the FIRST and ONLY asian ever to do so as a solo artist.....and yeah i'm sure a lot of people cannot sing pretty much anything... and no, it's not just the best sound from charice but the way she enunciates and delivers it in English... better than almost all from the philippines.. and that's coming from an american listener

@dungled what I meant was there maybe a lot of singers and surely a lot of Asians who did better without limiting the basis for achievement to make it favorable to the other. :) Coco Lee of HK got a star in hollywood walk of fame. Does it count, too?
Time out, fellas! lets just be thankful that we produced two great singers. One who contributed and changed the pace of Philippine music industry and provide an inspiration to many young aspiring singers and another one who was given the chance to prove herself abroad. Lets accept the fact that Regine will always be the queen of Philippine stage and wish Charice a long time success and good luck in her endeavor.
@thevoiceize of course it also proves something. Why are you spending money for one's concert? It's because you are expecting a good and quality performance worth of your time and money. Numerous best concert act trophies, Best selling artist of all time and being the standard of live singing in the country and gaining the respect and superlative praises from fellow artists here and abroad, young and old, then and now, proves her self-worth as a vocal artist, an institution and a legend.

Kaya nga Queen, walang other female that reigns supreme over you. We have different idea of best voice. If she's not the best for you it doesn't mean that we can't claim otherwise. Besides, Regine proved that she can win the top prize in a prestigious vocal competition here and abroad. Meaning, she is UP there vocal-wise.

Kung 50K siya sa Thai di sana double paltinum na di ba? saka ikaw rin nagsabi na double platinum sa japan album, lol, yung pala di pa nakakaabot sa 250K threshold. so more or less HINDI accurate ang mga statistics mo. :D anyway, charice is charice. the YT sensation. @chrlsmendoza LOL! di ba pinagmamalaki niyo na mas malaki ang market ni charice? so bakit bumaba ang standard mo? kinompare mo pa rin sa pilipinas na for philippine distribution lang? lol! ang japan 100K ang gold ang thailand 10K not sure kung natuloy na ibaba sa 5K ang gold! Yan lang ang lehitimong gold success ni Charice. Again hindi sa US, sa Asia pa rin. Yung 1st asian album release ni rv 3 mos. 300K sold na (source: EMI,BMG Garner pacific rim success). not just GOLD but Multiplatinum.

@chrlsmendoza o di ba nga 3 na album ni charice pero once again mas mabilis pa ring mabenta ang album ni Regine. yung last nga sobrang tagal na di pa naggogold. while regine almost monopolized the album sales averaging 3x platinums/year in 25 years charice is yet to prove her commercial demand in the market for 3 years now. Kung talent, album sales, concert tickets and achievement ang paguusapan, TOTOO namang mas lamang si regine. Being in america doesnt change anything if u dont have all that.

Si rv kahit anupang sabihin niyo established na 'yan. di na matatawaran ang kontribusyon sa music industry at sa mga sumisibol na young singers. si charice she still needs every help and support she can get, Filipino man o hindi. Regine = Philippines' Best because of her ACHIEVEMENT (in terms of vocal prowess and album sales here and in Asia) and INFLUENCE to new generation of singers like charice.
Charice = Was given the chance to TRY her luck abroad with the help of oprah and foster. :)

@chrlsmendoza kung consistency at kalidad ng popularity at achievement ang pag-uusapan sino pang tatalo sa isang regine velasquez. Even charice cannot hide the fact na may tatak regine ang istilo niya. her mother, who trained/supported her, even admitted that shes a fan of regine. Nakakatawa lang na MAS MAYABANG pa kayo kaysa sa mag-ina.

@amorablee again, is there such a thing like a future achievement??? we are not like you who's so good in counting chickens before they hatched. Regine's last album can still earn gold certification in one week, your idol's international album didnt even earn one here in Phil. Talk about numbers. lol! And in FN's last poll, Regine got more than 3x the number of Charice votes as best Filipina vocalists. even in dwindling state, Regine can beat Charice because until now she has a bigger fanbase.

@amorablee i am talking of regine's recent achievements and how she is maintaining her status as Phi's top diva until now that she's pregnant at 40. She remains the standard. The idol of idols. Singers joining diff. talent shows on tv are still mirroring her influence in singing. An evidence that RV's effect is still strong :D Cha doesn't bother me. I actually like her because she is my next bet compared to other young artists that we have now. She lacks commercial appeal lang talaga.

Regine = Philippines' Best because of her ACHIEVEMENT (in terms of vocal prowess and album sales here and in Asia) and INFLUENCE to new generation of singers like charice.

Jaya's US debut single stayed in the Billboard Hot 100 for 26 weeks. So that makes her the first and only filipino to have a longest chart run for a single. Anyway, the first Filipino act to land a top hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart was a group Rocky Fellers of Manila (1960). REAL first and having a consistently topping single sounds more of an achievement.

I think I have more credibility saying that since Im living here. in some instances she joined singing contests in nearby municipalities there wasn't a single chance that she went home with a top prize. well dont tell me that all the judges rigged the result, as well, cause she's supposed to be the best. lol

@istatowin2 lol her 1st us released album did good for a newcomer.. not everyone knows about charice yet... 1st us album and hit #8 on the billboard and the FIRST and ONLY asian ever to do so as a solo artist.....and yeah i'm sure a lot of people cannot sing pretty much anything... and no, it's not just the best sound from charice but the way she enunciates and delivers it in English... better than almost all from the philippines.. and that's coming from an american listener

Kaya nga Queen, walang other female that reigns supreme over you. We have different idea of best voice. If she's not the best for you it doesn't mean that we can't claim otherwise. Kung 50K siya sa Thai di sana double paltinum na di ba? saka ikaw rin nagsabi na double platinum sa japan album, lol, yung pala di pa nakakaabot sa 250K threshold. so more or less HINDI accurate ang mga statistics mo. :D anyway, charice is charice. the YT sensation. @chrlsmendoza o di ba nga 3 na album ni charice pero once again mas mabilis pa ring mabenta ang album ni Regine. yung last nga sobrang tagal na di pa naggogold. while regine almost monopolized the album sales averaging 3x platinums/year in 25 years charice is yet to prove her commercial demand in the market for 3 years now. Kung talent, album sales, concert tickets and achievement ang paguusapan, TOTOO namang mas lamang si regine. Being in america doesnt change anything if u dont have all that.

Regine = Philippines' Best because of her ACHIEVEMENT (in terms of vocal prowess and album sales here and in Asia) and INFLUENCE to new generation of singers like charice.
Charice = Was given the chance to TRY her luck abroad with the help of oprah and foster. :)
