J'avais oublié la mise en scène ! Le souvenir que j'en garde est celui de June Anderson complètement aphone à la fin du 1er acte (représentation du 20 juillet). Puis il y eut une annonce nous informant qu'un médecin venait de lui faire une piqure… un entracte qui se prolongeait… et finalement la représentation put reprendre.

@khalao68 Merci beaucoup pour ce témoignage et j’avais effectivement eu des échos sur la piqure… Rien d’étonnant compte-tenu du stress monumental qu’ont dû connaître les interprètes à se produire dans de telles conditions et face à un public souvent déchaîné. Cela ne fait que rendre ces interprètes encore plus grands ! Anderson, Blake et Giménez : quels artistes et quel trio ici!

I was there, that day! The setting was obnoxious. A great scandal! But Miss Anderson was fabulous!. Maestro Masini was angry angainst the audiance who has boo! the overture! He yieled to the audienc: "with only 2 rehearsal it wa enough! "In fact the Nice Orchestra was playing so flat!

I remenber how the set was ugly and riduculous/ most of the audience was laughing! As you can hear. A pity for miss Anderson and other singers who tried to save as much as possible. But It was a wreck!

Thank you for uploading. I cannot believe these rare operas with unbeatable casts are not released on DVD!!! Tosca and Fille du Regiment are nice but there dozens of versions around.
