  • He's right- the Power Glove was bad!

  • Wayne's world made me lol

  • I cant even believe people would (EAT DORITOS)stoop to this level the whore award should be annual

  • How do you know THIS isn't product placement!!! Hmmm...

  • What a shock things got commercialised in the 80s.

  • someone got a assignment about product placement, that i can get :)?

  • how about the movie the greatest movie ever sold

  • I'm not agianst product placement, sometimes its a nessacery evil .After all films have to be funded somehow.Sometimes it's also pulled off with taste,Fight Club and Waynes World demonstrates this. But my god theres alot of whorish examples.

  • @oliviaisgod

Even though it is basically uses psychological manipulation which we all fall for into buying things unknowingly though little or no merit to the produces function

  • I actually never realised how much product placement is in adam sandlers films.

  • I am now going to watch Career Opportunities to watch Jennifer Connelly ride a mechanical horse.

  • Song in the end is "Flying Lotus - GNG BNG"

  • The only restaurant left in Demolition Man is Taco Bell? If that ever happens, I choose starvation.

  • Josie and The Pussycats has WAY more advertising than Transformers! The entire movie is about advertising through subliminal messages, and they place at LEAST sixty or seventy brands in the movie.

  • I don't think The Wizard can be topped for product placement, since the entire film was really just a Nintendo commercial and the true stars of the movie were the Power Glove and Super Mario 3.

  • Nice work, but I always notice Pepsi and Coca Cola and very often women are driving Volvo stationcars .-)

  • Well what the hell can you do with TRANSFORMERS? The fact they use licenced cars is the whole reason why people watch it.....name one movie that isnt satrical where people actually like fictional products. I dont like blatant advertising, but some is good, in my opinion.

  • It's sorta funny how you can get payed large amounts of money to advertise something you could buy for less than $5.

  • @ACluelessKid American?

  • Grüße Fräulein, Sturm-Verbot-Führer, Well of the smoker eleven, whom it sucks certainly

  • Wot? No "Josie & the Pussycats"?

  • Spider man was a real whore for advertising

  • "The Wizard" is not an atrocity!

  • POPEYES CHICKEN IS THE SHIZNIT! LULZ

  • For white castle, it just sounds like a place to go when you have the munchies. Not like it is a national brand, it is a regional brand like Whataburger.

  • Adam Sandler can make product placements work lol

  • You forgot the soda can in Wayne's World haha

  • i just watched waynes world a while ago Dana Carvey is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!

  • best product placement was jennifer connelly riding that horse

  • Its like some people only do things because they get paid, and thats just really sad.

  • lol... they forgot superman 2 with the huge truck of marbs and the Cocacola right in ur face :P

  • The Wizard...first complete feature length commercial

  • I seriously learned more about product placement from this than I did from all of The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.

  • Didn't Fatty Arbuckle choke someone later?

  • Waynes World is and will always be , the greatest movie of all time...

  • @TheBeatlesRUL3 IKR there is no movie funnier its like amazing

  • @TheBeatlesRUL3 It will be mine, oh yes!... it will be mine..

  • at 5:55 is the originakl xbox not the 360.

  • At least with the Michael Bay movies no-one can tell what the fuck's being advertised because he can't look in the same direction for more than three seconds in a row.

  • How about "Evolution" by Ivan Reitman (Head and Shoulders Shampoo)? The film was like one giant freaking ad for the stuff.

  • Great video. If i remember correctly final destination had tonnes of apple advertising in it as well. and random boxes with the apple logo on it Lol

  • I never understood, honestly, when people go ape shit over produce placement in movies. If a movie is going to present itself as taking place in the real world, having real products is a given. Sure, it can get annoying when ever frame has the produce 100% in perfect view. But if it is just there, then so what.? What was Michael Bay supposed to use for earth cars in Transformers? --Magical FAKE vehicles?

BTW... check Return of the Killer Tomatoes for a real direct stab at Product Placement.

  • @spooieVAULT I think, at least for me, that it takes people out of the experience of watching a movie. I like going to the movies to escape the woes that I’m having in the real world and that’s why I’m so damn picky when I go to the movies. It’s all a cognitive thing really.

  • Then you look at the Adam Sandler Subway bit, where the character needed to pitch something famous. None of those spots exist without directly referencing the product, so even though it's still product placement, it's also something more and to ignore that aspect of the situation is ignorant. There's a world of difference between things like that and Peter Parker shooting webs at a a Dr. Pepper can, where the only reason to show the logo is for money -- it adds nothing to the scene.

  • It's just irritating to see a "look at how awful this is" video with no apparent analysis as to why these things were done. There's appropriate an inappropriate uses for name brands in television and movies and this just feels like a knee jerk, "greed-is-bad" reaction. If I'm missing something or off about something, please feel free to bring up a counterpoint.

  • And honestly, The Wizard? The movie was basically a 90 minute Nintendo commercial, and we're getting bent out of shape about the Power Glove line? Just because the scene sucks doesn't make it any worse than the rest of the film.

  • @Hoff1282 It was Nintendo and Universal Studios in Florida, which opened in 1989.

  • Of course Michael Bay uses a lot of product placement, where do you think those 200 million dollar budgets come from?

  • POPEYES CHICKEN IS DA SHIZZNEEH

  • why did white castle wanna be asscociated with stoners?

  • When Product Endorsement in Movies Goes Too Far...

    Gorillas in the Sierra Mist

A Box of Raisinets in the Sun

    Dial M&Ms for Murderous Munchin'

    Lord of the Onion Rings

    Logan's Snack Bar Run

    Mars Bars Attack!

    Refreshment Stand By Me

Raiders of the Last Clark Bar

  • combination pizza hut and taco bell!

  • @HotmoMma7383 What the fuck has that got to do with this video, spam slut?

  • Wow, Kinect in The Island!

  • CAPITALISM AGAIN and AGAIN !

  • they forgot the the small pepsi advert wayne did in waynes world, and also in the same movie where garth gives wayne 2 tablets for a headache. but otherwise its a savage video

  • u spelld placement rong @ 0:31

  • ...It's like people only do things because they get paid... and that's just really sad.

  • Power Glove sucks

  • Hi cool Video :) i have one error. In "the Island" it is not Xbox 360. It is the first Xbox but otherwise SPOT ON

  • I wish you would have mentioned the terminal, a movie Tom Hanks was in which took place inside the shopping district of an airline baggage claim. I think that may have beaten out Michael Bay since product placement of as many things as possible was actually the heart and soul of the film.

    Still a great movie though.

  • Why is there no ad at the beginning of this video?

  • What, no mention of the Josie and the Pussycats remake? That movie was all advertisements.

  • not to be "that guy" but what is the song that starts playing around 6:16? thx.

  • @PrfktTear Flying Lotus - GNG BNG

  • Fascinating, thanks for putting this together.

  • HOW CAN THIS NOT INCLUDE HEAD&SHOULDERS IN EVOLUTION?!

  • Sometimes that's just what it takes to pay the production costs. Advertising is a necessary evil.

  • I love placement product .. It's so bad

  • With piracy comes the new revenue models.

  • revenge of the fallen is from 2009. yet you say he broke his own record in 2007

  • watch, dont fish and drive!

  • I heard Nicorette didn't have to pay for the placement in Meet the Parents, since it showed their product making the cat go insane and destroy a bunch of stuff.

  • you forgot about "evolution" (alien comedy with David Duchovny)

it ended with a commercial for head & shoulders

  • how can he possibly forget about Scott Pilgram vs the world CocaCola Zero ?!?!

  • Ever heard of Return of the Killer Tomatoes? They mocked budget-increasing product placement like hell in that film.

  • harold and kumar ftw

  • Bringing Mac And Me into this is almost unfair... that movie is on its own level of atrociousness.

  • I wonder why "Runaway Bride" ist not in the video. When she jumps on the FedEx-Van: "Where is she going?" - "I don't know, but she'll be there by tomorrow morning."

  • What about Vanilla Sky? I believe it holds a significant amount of product placement just in the opening scene.

  • the director is not responsible for product placement deals.

These are approved by the film's producer, and the director has to deal with the compromises

therefore Michael Bay is almost innocent (he was only one of some 10 producers...)

  • I so loved Knight's Tale, I always thought it was just a gag. I didn't know it was paid product placement.

  • Only Michael Bay.

  • I actually groaned out loud at the Knights Tale one.

  • 'Mac and Me' is pure evil. It's like a 2-day old Happy Meal in the form of a movie.

  • In Richie Rich, there's a McDonald's in Richie's house. You've missed it.

  • What all ways stood out to me was the Superman movies, I thing it was Superman 2 that had all the Coke and Marlboro ads.

  • harold & kumar was in 2004

  • One of my favorites is Head & Shoulders in Evolution (not in this vid). They do even a hilarious ad at the end of the movie, saying: wow, fighting the alien menace can be tough work. So is keeping your hair clean, shiny and dandruff-free.

Well, I still don't use H&S but maybe if an actual invasion will ever accrue, it might be the first thing I can think of.

  • But nowhere is it done so badly as in James Bond: Casino Royale...

  • How about Cast Away? That whole movie is about fedex

  • @ElizabethSpencerW and Wilson

  • @BuRushood Wilson!!!

  • Now I understand the "Walmart Joke" in the Looney Tunes movie with Brendan Fraser...

  • The Ethan Hawke Hamlet sucks. Terrible movie.

  • How could you miss the Marlboro truck in Superman II? I know it was 1980 but still, pushing smokes in a comic book movie?!? Evil.

  • Demolition Man was really sneaky... But wtf was the franchise war anyway?

  • i still wants the Rick's nike tennis in Terminator 1

  • Fedex starring in Cast Away

  • what about the kitchen table scene from talladega nights?

  • FLYING LOTUS THUMBS UPS!

  • They call me Professor Wagstaff!

  • I guess we can take the name filmDRUNK literally, judging by the atrocious SPELLING on those slates, huh?

Oh wait... it was of course ON PUPOSE, right? Or is it just because you went to school in THE US??! In which case you're forgiven. :-D

  • LOL... "puRpose" of course... :-))))

  • I love it when a vending machine just says "soda" or "orange" on it in a movie.

  • imo, it makes the movie more real and immersive.

  • It would be funny if this comment section was full of ad spam.

  • In Britain product placement has been illegal on TV. So I notice it all the more in American films. It can really ruin a scene. When you submerged, then the character brings a coke can into shot and somehow the can turns itself during the scene so that "Cocacola" is constantly facing you. Its annoying and ruins it a little. Also, TV shows like "The Apprentice". The US version is basically a commercial for a brand. With Trump obsessing over Disney or a new Pepsi drink. Ugh.

  • 3:42 THE best part of this video

  • the onyl reason i watched this was bcuz i saw waynes world in the thumbnail

  • I Love The Power Glove...It's So Bad...

  • what about burger king in iron man

  • product placement make me sad *takes a cool refreshing mouthful of coke*

  • Does product placement really affect sales? I would think people are numb by seeing ads integrated in most aspects of life... I don't even notice when they've placed one in a movie, seeing how something like a vending machine would be common place anyway.

  • Waynes world owns

  • its stupid ...some movie put some famous product to be realist , not because of trying to sell it... u se a kid drining a CORA COLU is relalist ? no , so make hil dreink coca cola.

in fight club , they destroy rich' car , they not gonna re-call it BWM just to avoid the shit...

  • Placing products in movies, radio, and television shows is contrary to "Kate plus Eight" promoting birth control...

  • Waynes world doesn't really Count though because it's parodying the whole advertisement thing

  • @celticsisthebestteam Its still an advetisement though. Its not like they could still do it for free....

  • Transformers itself is just one big product placement...for Hasbro lol

  • waynes world HAS to be my favorite example

  • Harold and kumar came out in 04....

  • popeyes chickens fricken awesome

  • I remember all the Coke products (Including Jolt cola, the cola of the elite hacker) in Hackers (1995)

  • Popeyes chicken is the shiznit!!!

  • Oh crap I always thought E.T. used m&ms in the film.

  • A lot of those worked with the film though so I'm okay with it.

  • the only one of those that actually makes me want to buy a product is little nicky popeyes chicken, the shit really is fuckin good and its a lot crispier than kfc even their extra crispy

and everyone knows white castle fucking sucks, the movie was funny but it only tricked the most retarded of our society into actually attempting to consume the garbage

  • i watched the whole video and i only noticed jennifer connelly bouncing up and down on the bull, and i want to buy a bull now, bastards

  • Down with rich corporations and billionaires, the reason why more than half the world is suffering

  • i believe in product placement. its the only way to keep the rich people rich and the poor people poor.

  • everyone already knew michael bay is a whore

  • Michael Bay killed the transformers.. RIP bumblebee.. :(

  • @MoOtErFiCk1 bumblebee fucking sucks, and i say that never having watched the cartoons but only the movies

the movies made bumblebee out to be the lamest transformer ever, they save the world and the bitch still doesnt get a new voicebox. i expect optimus to sodomize him in the next movie

  • @KojachBaumherr Don't waste your time or money on the next Bay film.. He raped the transformers like Spielberg raped Indiana Jones.. I haven't seen (nor will I ever) the second transformers movie, better yet, I walked out of the first one and demanded my money back.. :D

  • I clicked the video cause garth was in the thumbnail

  • @Kridane YES. GARTH FTW

  • @Kridane Sha-Wing!

  • i don't see a problem with ads in movies..... * THIS COMMENT BROUGHT TO YOU BY YOUR FRIENDLY LOCAL ALLSTATE AGENT* THAT'S ALLSTATES STAND :)

  • Interesting story, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle did not receive ANY money from White Castle. At all. So does that count as Product Placement?

  • What a bout the film the Joneses thats all product placement its what the film is about.

  • watch,toby kieth dis!

  • I'm an advertising creative and I approve this message, but

I'm also a cinema lover and disapprove this message.

  • Agreed on Talledega Nights. Also Fantastic Four and Garfield are distractingly rerouted by ads (and, y'know, horrible films) Josie and the Pussycats pulled the Wayne and Garth gag through an entire film.

  • What about Talledega Nights?

  • In the Terminator, Kyle Reece slips into some Nikes

  • This video brought to you by your mom

  • @JimmyFatz fucking faggot....

  • thx a lot

  • They forgot one very important whore of a movie: CASTAWAY!! With nonstop fedex FEDEX fedEX!!!!

  • @owenvich I Know How Can They Forget Castaway.

  • it makes the movie feel real

  • @RealBigfootFilms - Yeah, real dumb.

  • I love the Power Glove. It's so bad !

  • I don't understand why the hell people dislike product placement so much. In my opinion, it makes movies more realistic. In real life there are ads EVERYWHERE, much more than in movies.

  • This video is gold.

  • One of the first movies ever made had product placement in.. 1896!! Check Your FACTS!

  • @RockNpicS im sure this is a wikipedia study

  • @enburst sadly it's also the subject of my thesis

  • Comment removed

  • Don't forget Josie and the Pussycats (2001) Its fucking insane!

  • What about Leonard Part 6?

  • I don't understand, so many films are so awful! How do they get away with it???
