  • hello travis, im a huge fan, your technique is amazxing , as well as your stylistic, tasteful and creative drumming fills. i wanted to know whats your opinion your opinion on the pearl demon drives, im really interested in them and theres not many good vids on it, can you help me

  • People bitching about this not being one take have obviously never recorded. Parts change constantly while writing and it doesn't have to be a perfect take every time.

  • @CANdavidFLY Exactly. Like when a singer records, they don't sing through the whole song one time. They sometimes take it chorus by chorus and such. This is the sound that's going to end up on the album, so they want to make sure that it's perfect, even if they have to go back and revise some parts. These aren't covers, but actual "recording sessions" that we are witnessing.

  • OH I GET IT. I understand the hater comments now. When some one is so ridiculously good at something, people find a need to nitpick and find flaws. Travis Orbin is a drum god - Nuff said.

  • Hey Travis, you should leave equipment info so we can see what drums your using every video you make :)

  • Because Traivs is a hard-hitter, they have to adjust the stand each take to keep the same audio level... now calm the fuck down. It was funny the first time someone said it, but now... -.-'

  • i'm getting off on the added splash. the mix is so damn solid. that kick sound is hot!

  • Is that an invisible floor tom I hear @2:40?

  • @gaigewilderdrums I think that's his bass.

  • @romeo13x I was thinking that too but its hard to tell. I am looking at both of his legs and it doesn't seem to me that either landed on that down beat.

  • @gaigewilderdrums Pretty sure it's his left leg which is somewhat hidden. He doesn't always lift his leg too high. Listen/look at :16- :22, most of those bass beats are played with his left leg, but u can hardly notice any movement, but it's obviously him playing it lol.

  • @romeo13x If you count the triplets he is playing, it's a total of 6 notes with the bass drum followed by the snare on the 7th note. He begins the sequence with his right foot, so the final note of the 6 must land on the left foot(because he is using straightforward footing--RLRLRL). It does. On the 7th you never see the right foot come down. Unless he played some retardedly sneaky set of two triplets with his left foot at the end, I don't see how it could be the bass. I'M ONTO YOU ORBIN.

  • @gaigewilderdrums Taylor must've added it for effect.

  • @shaftninja You have no idea the level of satisfaction that I have just achieved.

    LOVE YOU.

  • @gaigewilderdrums to me it sounds like a bass slide down.. just sayin..

  • Something china. Something, something, something, china.

  • He can't get away from the china comments even after he mentioned it in the info, not that many people will read it.

  • @ 1:10 those cymabl crashes were SOO tight and fast. unbelieveable. then he goes right back into the groove seamlessly

  • Wow, the drums sound fucking awesome in this. What equipment do you use?

  • In Soviet Russia, china cymbal moves towards Travis Orbin!

  • Just wondering, but why do you keep your cymbals so tight?

  • @XxMAXYPADxX Because Simon says.

  • I was watching some 38 Special and Alan Jackson videos...and I ended up here.

  • your set up and style are so unique and just awesome haha love your vids

  • Roll at 3:10 was so cool sounding it was awkward in the measure but i think thats why it sounded so great.

  • taylor's recordings sound so freaking good. you did this with him, right?

  • not feeling the vox but music is sick though there drummer is gonna have fun learning this guy hope he can read tabs[=

  • travis don't listen to them. i won't comment on your china. i'll comment on your awesome beard.

  • im in that weird part of youtube where the china moves by itself

  • Hey Travis, is this a pearl kit in this video?

  • @cahslundglass Looks like a Pork Pie to me.

  • @cahslundglass As he says in the description, check the description for "Splinters". It's pretty clearly not his new Reference Pure kit, that's in a natural maple finish like his old Truth kit.

  • Press different numbers going up from 1 on your keyboard to see the slow but steady movement of the China. Keep rockin Orbinator!

  • Chiodos + Stray From the Path = this band.

  • How many different videos are there in this one?

  • I don't get how people can watch his vids and leave worrying about a damn china..

  • @duvaldrummer china's are a metaldrummer's treassure ;)

  • @duvaldrummer Thank you!

  • @duvaldrummer Tell me about it. I always wonder how can these people can keep repeating themselves over, and over, and remain sane.

  • @duvaldrummer No doubt. The guy has 1 or two comps in a song and people shit their pants.

  • Still my favorite song by these guys. Probably would've helped a lot if this was out before I tried learning it so I could see what you were doing!

  • after 120 videos he still doesnt secure his china hahahahaha

  • duct tape that china down man

  • I take it you messed up somewhere shortly after 1:23 or you had to move the china back?

  • @CaseyTheDrummerBoy Nevermind. I noticed you cut it a few times afterwords to move the china.

  • The Set Apart sessions are fast becoming some of my favourite videos from you, great work as usual!

  • came home from work to this? thank you so much mr orbin :D

  • love. your. art.

  • that china and over head mic need to calm the fuck down

  • So solid! Damn this makes me want to go tear it up on my drums! well atleast i have my trusty pad to kill my thirst

  • @Funkysajmi Tear 'em up!

  • china hittin the mic stand= epiiiic

  • tearin it up eh?!

  • Oh man, thank you for trying to quell all the "YOUR CHINA MOVED" bs. Great drumming, man. This is quite a catchy tune from these guys.

  • uh oh
