  • But hopefully not as eccentric as Zappa!

  • Thanks

  • ha you kinda look like frank zappa....good playin

  • Thanks...glad you liked it.

  • This is very difficult song. You played it slower but it's great Man! Good job!

  • Thank you, and your Bron Y'Aur is really great. I have put up one too but doesn't come close to yours! Nothing like the sound of a good acoustic.

  • Thank You :) Regards

  • i thought this song comes after "your time is gonna come" why does it say white summer?

  • the song that comes after your time is gonna come is black mountain side, this is white summer and it has black mountain side riffs mixed in it

  • this isnt the song on LZ1, its on the box set, and its kind of a mixture between Black Mountain Side and White Summer

  • sounds good :)

it's damn difficult i know it... i have a version of black mountain side played by me in my profile.

  • Thanks.

    And yours is absolutely FABULOUS.

    Really really superb.

    Keep posting

  • thanks :D

i have 2 other videos in my profile, one is a led zeppelin solo but it was like 6 months ago and i was pretty sloppy back then watch it when you can

  • What's the tuning for this?

  • It's tuned DADGAD from high to low

  • you look like borat but i love u!!

  • Wow. You love me in spite of that!!

  • I must praise you firstly for that excellent moustache then also on the great guitar playing

  • Thanks on both counts.

Though I must say that the moustache was simpler ( all I had to do was ' not shave' ) while the song took some effort!

By the way your little wing is awesome

    Cheers

  • Jimmy page has played this song many times with an electric guitar. ther's nothing bad with it.

  • Why the hell would you play an acoustic song on an electric? The whole beauty of it is how well it comes out when the only sound is it reverberating out of the hole in the center, not a digitized wail.

I'm not saying that I dislike songs done with electric guitars, I'm just saying that some acoustic songs need to be left as they are.

  • So why don't you buy me a nice acoustic guitar?

    I don't have one!

  • true its beutiful on the acoustic but jimmy did play it on his electric for his show in 1970 at the royal albert hall

  • Yes, but then Jimmy is,well....Jimmy. He's brilliant even on a bad day!

  • page played it on electric, his danolectro

    look it up

  • he was also known to play in on his acoustic electric

  • Amazing

    Very good

  • Thanks JimmyPage 159, Thorzak and darraghok for your comments. I'm not trying to be modest or anything...but half the trick is in the tuning...the alternate tuning ( DADGAD) makes the song a lot simpler to play ( compared to a standard tuning with which I initially tried and very promptly abandoned playing this song)

PS - Page is THE BEST guitarist ever

  • fantastic you did the fast part really well

  • this guy looks like super mario ,,, and he kicks ass .. 9 out of 10

  • Awsome job man!!!

  • Thanks a tonne

    Cheers

  • u do such a good job at this, as ive mentioned before. i can play the whole thing now, but i have a 'little' touching up to do... :-)

  • Thanks again.

Why don't you upload it? Would love to see it.

    Cheers

  • great work, it's interesting for me to see the work on your right hand (especially the harmonics)

  • Thanks

  • I like your play.

this song is difficult for me.

  • damn thas was great

  • Glad you liked it.

  • wow great work. great work.

  • Thanks man.

  • Every video I have seen, shows people playing it terribly wrong. You do a nice job though.

  • Thank you very much!

  • "white summer" is pretty much a cover of "she moved thru the bizzare" by davy graham, which is a guitar arrangement of the old irish folk song "she moved through the fair"

  • Is that an instrumental too?

  • ya, search for "davy graham folk britannia", he plays it in that clip

  • Just saw it. It's fantastic!!

    Thanks

  • I have that guitar but in red. Is that a 112 or a 012?

  • This guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica. Nothing spectacular. And it's my only guitar. After I make buckets of money I'll get a Les Paul!!!

I see that you like Sabbath. They were a great band. The genius of Iommi can be appreciated on 'Warning'. It has some amazing guitar. Some of his solos have the same guitarin both speakers with one lagging a fraction of a second behind...and sometimes the 2 tracks vary subtley...often not even evident until looked for... And Geezer Butler was phenomenal too.

  • Les Pauls are worth it trust me on that. Check out my Life on Mars Solo to see my les paul in action

  • the tone is real authentic!

  • Thank you very much. And lets all thank Jimmy Page for writing this lovely piece. Have you heard the original White Summer by The Yardbirds?

  • yeah, but jimmy wrote it too right? can't really remember... liked the version on the led zep dvd though

  • Yeah, Jimmy Page was in The yardbirds right? Initially he played bass This was after Eric Clapton left the Yardbirds and Jeff Beck took his place on the lead guitar. After Paul Samwell Smith, the bassist left the band, Page played bass until Chris Dreja took over the bass guitar and Jimmy played lead guitar along with Jeff Beck. Subsequently Jeff Beck left the band and Page was lone lead guitarist. Their album 'Little games' has the original 'white summer'.

  • yea its gr8 but i belive black mountain side was actually from an old folk song callled blackwaterside tht had been recorded a couple of times b4

  • This song certainly has a history!

  • Great work, that must have been very difficult to learn. Keep up the wounderful sound!!

  • Thanks. Its actually much easier than it looks. Page and most other great guitarists sorted out half their problems by alternate tunings. This song is tuned DADGAD.

    Arvind

  • hey if you want morw instrumental songs to learn ill give ya some :)

  • 13 years old

  • really great im trying to learn from your video your a very good musician

  • Thanks. I'm honoured.

Your ten years gone is nice too. How old are you?

    Cheers

    Arvind

  • is that a fake mustache?

  • Certainly not

  • that was really good.

  • Thanks

  • Great!Your guitar is "TRUE MUSIC"

    I reconsidered.

    Thank You Very Much.

  • I am honoured that you even saw my video. You play the guitar as well as Jimmy Page! I especially like your 'The Crunge' and 'Since I've been loving you'. Really fantastic....every note is correct and no improvisations...Amazing!!

    Thank you.

  • I loved it, a couple of things needed to be fixed up but other than that, good job. It looks like you self taught yourself based on the White Summer from the Royal Albert Hall, and I honestly respect that.

  • Thanks man, yeah I did try (unsuccessfully) to repeat it note for note from that concert. Sacrificed a whole day of studying ( I'm doing my post graduation in anaesthesia) and neglected my wife and son the entire day tying to get it right!
