  • Oh and another thing. Ratings were actually up when Smallville and Angel were together for Angel's fifth season. They were up more than the previous season when Dawson's Creek was paired with Angel I think it was. We deserved a 6th season.

  • Love that they put this promo after the series finale. When i saw the msg, I'm sorry but it really made me mad. I think that was when cracks started forming in The WB. Sorry but this is what I call a halfhearted Thank You.

  • Wish they could have had a better ending! Heard they have been doing a comic book.

  • I miss this show! It use to be my all time favorite show! :'(

  • Angel did not deserve this, Season 5 alone was better than all the Buffy Seasons put together, i hope that they make a season 6 or an Angel Movie cause even in 2011, they all look young as ever

  • I dunno, S5 seems to be a good ending point for any show. Especially a Whedon show. If Buffy had ended in S5 I would have missed characters like Buffy, Willow, and Xander instead of hating them. A lot.

  • joss whedon was about to make a spike movie but it never happen

  • i'm sad that it ended and all and though this wasn't the ending i wanted i'm glad it ended because the last season was really boring compared to the rest i only enjoyed like a couple of episodes. especially the one where cordelia came back and the last 4 or 5 episodes of the series. cause after cordelia died it wasn't the same and just after she died fred and wesley died so the show was just going to be empty if it continued.

  • To be fair, season 5 ended the series the way it should of ended, I think any other way would have ruined it. Those moaning about wanting new seasons, get a life lol, they were infact struggling with buffy to keep it fresh, it got rediclous from s5.

  • Comment removed

  • @mandukar They weren't struggling with Angel though. In fact they had a huge thing being set up, and cancelling the series just ruined it. Whedon knew Buffy was tapped out and he was ready for it to go; but he felt like Angel was just hitting its stride. That's the dissapointment. That the series gained viewers in season 5 and had so much good ahead of it, and got cancelled anyways because of a stupid power play.

  • To be honest, I wasn't the least bit sad the show was cancelled when it was. After the character assassination of Cordelia my love for this show died. Season 5 definitely had its great moments, but it wasn't the same. I miss it, though. :(

  • @MrAquar1us i completely agree with this :) i loved angel but it wasnt the same without cordelia :(

  • Buffy and Angel were the best and smartest shows on tv. The wb are idiots Buffy and Angel should still be on!

  • how did it end

  • this felt more like the wb giving the finger to the audience

  • It was great. No regrets

  • I miss Angel and Buffy :(

  • The 6th season would of been there last season anyway, it was WB's second highest rated show they couldn't let us have are last season so that we could finally see the Apocalipse that they talked about since season 1?

  • instead of "thanking" us in this, they should have thanked us by giving us another season. i'm so mad they cancelled it.

  • Thank you??? THANK YOU??? Your the bloody ones who canceled the show! I still haven't forgiven them for it :(

  • @fergmaster At least it got 5 seasons, unline some shows (*cough* firefly *cough*) plus I loved how Angel ended.

  • 277? I think not. He said he was 241 in Season 1 of Buffy so that would make him 250. (v-v)

  • @WillowMaclay They add in the 27 or so years he was actually alive before he was turned into a vampire. I think he was born in 1727 (on his tombstone you can see his birth and death years in one of the episodes - "Darla" maybe?) so that makes him about 277 in 2004.

  • @DamnSkippyToo Remember he spent an extra 100 years in a hell dimension when Buffy stabbed him. When his son was in a hell dimension he came back as a teenager.

  • @Corleone2239 Yes, he did, but the show never accounted for that time whenever they mentioned his age.

  • @WillowMaclay Vampires tend not to count the years when they were actually human when discussing their age, feeling that they became "alive" only after they were turned. You'll notice when Spike told Willow his age in The Initiative that that he said he was only 126, 1880s being when he got turned.

  • @DamnSkippyToo lol the ''power walk'' your probably right because in buffy(if you watched buffy) the power walk usually took place in the beginning of the season or the end of the season.

  • @DamnSkippyToo yeah i don't like season 5 that much either and i have 2 more episodes to watch. but i haven't seen this part throughout the whole season.oh well =(

  • @diana42807 Then it's probably in one of the last two. It looks like it would be, since it's all of them doing a power walk and that, seems to me, would only have happened in one of the final episodes.

  • @diana42807 I did like Season 5 but I felt like it had very little continuity form ep to ep. Most of them were stand-alone episodes.

  • @gorboy Because the WB was demanding more stand alone episodes. Idiots at the WB.

  • can somebody plz tell me which episode was @27 sec where they're all walking toward the camera?i've always wanted to know.

  • @diana42807 Hmm..I don't know. It's from an ep in S5 and since I didn't like S5 I only watched it once.

  • @diana42807 It wasn't from an actual episode. It was probably from a promotional spot they did for the show. Just re-watched the whole series a few weeks ago and I'm sure it's not there. I miss this show. At least I got Supernatural.

  • @Psycho1386 It was from an actual episode... I just wish I remembered which one... but I remember vaguely that the situation surrounding that moment was somewhat comedic and not overly serious... or maybe I'm confusing it when they're all walking toward the camera with Angel as a puppet leading... Yep, never mind, I think it's the latter... :/

  • :( it sucks they ended it

  • wat episode is at 0:24?

  • @dramaprincess94 Angel checking out his vamp face? That's from Spin the Bottle in S4.

  • angel was a great show

  • check out Angel: After the Fall trailer on my profile!

  • This is so much better then Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Man, to bad i couldn't see when they fight in the last episode. I did know that he and all others where going to die but it's still to bad...

  • this is on everyday on syfy :) i laav it and im so pissed on now lol becuz im in the middle of jasmine bein born and stuff and now i know the ending :( and i dont like it when show end they should keep goin 4evaaa! (lolz)

  • What a load of crap!!!

  • this is the best spin-off of ever...

  • Did the WB have one of these for Buffy?

  • You know what sucks is that the guy who played as Angel has already said no to ever doing show again and never wants to do a movie what a bastard

  • That's not accurate. He said he would consider doing a movie depending on the script. But since there's no way there will ever be an Angel movie, it really doesn't matter what he says. Besides, he's getting too old to play a vampire that never ages.

  • @DamnSkippyToo Which is also not true Joss Said he wanted to make a movie to close Angel And buffy.... I guess he never got around to it or is trying to figure out a mind blowing movie...

  • @PsychoticKingAJ He wants to make a BUFFY movie that might have Angel in it. That's not the same thing as an ANGEL movie. All the talk is about a possible Buffy movie when there is talk. There has never been any talk from Joss about a movie centered around the Angel verse other than lip service after the show was canceled saying there might be TV movies or a film version).

  • @DamnSkippyToo No it was the close to Angel, and the Close to season 8 of Buffy, And yes There was a season 8 of Buffy but it was comic books, It was a close to Angel... He said it in a interview, He wanted to end the Series (both) With a Movie, The interview was At comic con i believe now who it was with i don't remember.

  • @PsychoticKingAJ Then JW changes his tune every day. Because he also said if he did a movie he would toss out the comics if he wanted. And the last serious talk (pre Comic Con) was a BUFFY movie which would not even include the TV cast. And I imagine David wouldn't have much interest in a movie that wasn't centered on Angel. He was over being Buffy's lapdog many years ago. IAC, I'll believe when I see it - if I'm still alive.

  • @DamnSkippyToo i believe David boreanaz could pull it off but he probably be to busy with bones considering now he and Emily are part of the directing team

  • @mattsmt20 Why does that make him a bastard? That's kind of harsh.

  • Talk about being hypocritical. Not to mention they canceled the show and then call themselves our friends. With friends like the WB, who needs enemies?

  • @TheCrossoverJunkie it wasn't the cast and crew blame joss whedon he asked for wb to renew the show to early wb didn't even have a schedule if he had waite they would have been picked up but he wanted to go ahead and ask and the show suffered for it.

  • @TheCrossoverJunkie The WB/CW cancelled it to make room for more of thei bullshit "teen drama's" that they shove down our throats. The idea that someone other than a 15 year old girl or male with an "alternative life style" might actually watch the network if more shows like Angel were on it must seem silly, silly I tell you in their minds. Thank God for Supernatural, I can't stand any more gossip girl type bullshit.

  • @stoivan85 preach lol all these reality & chick shows make me sick, what happened to real shows and real ACTING?

  • WE WANT A FUCKING 6th SEASON:C´MON WB

  • the comics are amazing and you would love them

  • i am just happy they showed doyle briefly in this thing. such a good show.

  • @MargflowerProduction RIP Glen

  • i loved the series finale but heres my problem with WB doing this stupid thank you promo after cancelling the show.... its the same thing as a rapist thanking his victim for the good times

  • Stop crying guys, this was probably the single greatest finale in history. Ending on such a high note and not stretching the series out like they did with Buffy. Angel was a great show and I'm glad the way they ended it.

  • Season 5 was the best season, but they kind of ruined it by ending it the way they did, without us knowing what happened next. That kind of sucked, big time!!

  • I felt satisfied with the ending.

  • they wanted to go out in a BANG and they did... i just finished watching the series on dvd yesterday i was SOOOO beyond POed when it ended then i realized that i was actually an amazing ending to an amazing series, plus they realesed the comic book series Angel: After the Fall which is guess explains eveything that happened and is happening

  • Wanna know what would have thanked us? giving us another season you fuckers.

  • excellent fucking point logan

and they maybe they could have also

thanked us the people who fought to save

angel by writing letters and protesting by

not giving us a shitty comic most people

cant even find and if they do it's too damn

    expensive

  • Not Fade Away was easily Angel's best episode and anyone that can't see that the finale is the perfect metaphorical ending to THIS show is a lunatic. The fight never ends.

  • This would of been good if they would of let us have are 6th season. David Boreanaz had said he would do the sixth season but then that was it. Plus we were finaly going to see the Apocalipse. I have no problem with the ending(I know a lot of people didn't like it), but still the 6th season was what they'd been talking about since the last episode of the first season. It was a big wait for nothing.

  • ure a bloody puppet

  • Yeah that "Thank You" was a joke. Can't imagine what Joss was feeling when he saw that as well. Although it is a nice gesture, the fact that they cancelled the show to begin with and messed up Joss's original intent of wrapping up the show, really pissed me off. And the whole, "We want to do Angel movies!" never came into being. What a joke. The only thing that the WB has done since was bring on Supernatural. Otherwise, I could care less about them.

  • fuck the wb the show was immensely popular and every one involved wanted more but they thought they where offered and ultimatum when joss whedon went to them and asked to get sired early or something like that instead of the wait or cancel them and the sons a bitches canceled it.

  • I was at the edge of my seat, literally. As I watched the gang meet back at the alley and then the horde of demons descend down on them...And then just as Angel's about to kick some demon butt...

    'THANK YOU'

    (What the hell?)

  • I remember watching this right after the finale and I wanted to run my fist through the TV. I was crying and then the Thank You, your friends at the WB part just pissed me off!!!

God I miss that show (and Buffy).

Fuck the WB. I don't think I will ever get over how mad I am at them!

  • i would press thumbs up 1000000000000...... times for you comment ! but i can only do it once... anyway FUCK the WB !

  • The WB sucks for canceling this show...long live Angel!

  • Friends? What kind of a "friend" gives you the axe before its your time. Cancelling this and everwood were 2 very bad moves on the WB's part.

  • Good send off but dang, a Season 6 would have been nice.

  • yes i agree with harleykman upn did pick up buffy after the WB canceled but im sure the WB had a good reason because the show pretty much sucked after angel left

  • it shouldnt of ended.. i love it... plus he isn't 277 he is 253 !... and if you work it out he was 27 when he was turned... and 245 when buffy started... so... do the math... he is 253 ! ( 8 years of the show) and if they were counting from his death 253 + 27 he would be 280 not 277 !

  • I believe they were inconsistent with his age. In "Darla" (I think) they show his gravestone and it says 1726-1753. If you subtract 2004 from 1726 you get 278 or 277 depending on when his birhday landed in the year. So whatever he said his age was on Buffy wasn't consistent with what they established his age as on "Angel." They went with the AtS canon.

  • Actually, I just checked the transcripts. It was during "The Prodigal" that they show his gravestone and it read "1727-1753" so 2004-1727 is 277 years.

  • @DamnSkippyToo If you really want to go in depth you could count the 100 years he was in a hell dimension after Buffy killed him so... 377.

  • This was a total slap in the face to the fans... "Your Friends at The WB"... please. We still hate you.

  • we all still hate you .. good point !

  • Umm...as of Buffy season 3, Angel had lived 247 years, making him 252 at series end. That is, if you don't count the time he spent in hell. So why does the promo say 277 years?

  • They'e counting the years he was a human (from his date of birth). The years he claimed on Buffy were just his years since he was turned into a vampire.

  • look at my comment.... the maths.... you are still right though why 277 ??

  • Angel was born in 1727, so that would make him 277 in 2004.

  • i think it should've been longer, but it was stil good lol...

  • I was so pissed when they canceled Angel. I had never hated a tv station more than them when I found out.

  • WB was also stupid enough to cancel Buffy. Fortunately UPN came to the rescue and gave us seasons 6 and 7...

I think whoever decided to kill Buffy and Angel helped bring WB to its knees and eventual forced bankruptcy. (From the ashes came CW.)

  • I was shocked that they canceled this. Infact they canceled this about the time that I was going to start watching it. I think it was a year after Charmed started :S!. Which is why I never understood how Charmed survived yet buffy or angel didn't :/

  • Buffy did survive, Joss decided to end it at season 7

  • Not quite true. WB canceled Buffy after season 5... but then UPN helped save Joss' job by agreeing to fund two more seasons.

  • Oh God was I so pissed when I saw this air after the finale it sure got the sight of my middle finger I'll tell ya that. note to the WB a nice way to say thank you is to NOT CANCEL THE SHOW!!

  • I wish they kept the series going because they're may be comic books but they're not the same as seeing someone actually bring life to a character. I HATE THE WB

  • they do have comics, but they suck.

  • I HATE THE WB FOR CANCELLING ANGEL. They also delayed the HP movies and made horrible decisions with eth plot of those. Also, they tried to cancel Buffy. Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and ANGEL re my favorite stories ever, so I REALLY hate the WB..AHHHHGGGHHH

  • When Buffy ended I was happy because I was starting to find Buffy very annoying. The ending of Buffy was alright. Despite that this was not the way that Joss Whedon wanted to end the series I still felt ok with it. Angel will go on fighting.

  • What really sucks is that they would of ended the show after season 6 anyway(since David Boreanez was going to leave after season 6), atleast we would of had the Apocalypse that they talked about since the ending of season 1. I read the comic, but that isn't Joss Whedon's version of what would of happened its just based on his plot.

  • Man, I remember when Angel ended, I was so sad. Buffy ended the year before and Angel was like the only good thing left on tv, now I only have one TV show left and if that ends, I'll have nothing to watch. I MISS ANGEL AND BUFFY, THEY WERE MY FAVORITE SHOWS!!!!!

  • I believe they were equally good. Buffy's went out with a bang as it should have. She was finally done being the one and only slayer and the hellmouth was closed. Angel ended with them fighting the endless fight, something they'd always done. They never gave up even when the odds were that much against them.

  • Thank you.... we are still cancelling your ass after you said there would be a season 6. fuck off. although I wouldn't have Bones if you didn't cancel it ... hmmm... dilema;)

  • Bones is bullshit

  • "Your friends at WB"????GO TO HELL,WB! Friends don´t steal and you stole Angel from us, so FUCK YOU WB!!

  • This was basically a big "fuck you" to the fans.

  • when i saw this after the finale i was pissed.

  • Fuck the WB.

  • yea..thanks for being an idiot WB

  • Hate you WB. Really do.

  • You're a bloody puppet!

  • GO F@#K YOURSELF WB!!!!

  • this ending sucked buffy ending was much better

  • Mainly because the ending was written before they were told it was cancelled. So.......the series was NOT supposed to end the way it did.

  • actually they were told earlier (i think at the end of season 4 or in the middle of 5) and joss whedon wanted it to end that way to symbolise that we are always fighting.

  • They were cancelled half-way through the 5th Season(Feb of 2004). The final Episode was in May. So a little more than half. He had plans for a 6th season. Just this is the only way he could end it. He would have done movies by now but they don't have enough funding.

  • he did have plans for season six and he wanted it to keep going but when he found out they were being cancelled he wanted the series to end that way because thats how he wanted to go out. if he wanted it to be different he would have changed it. so it was supposed to end that way and I thought it was brilliant how it ended. it was so Joss Whedon and so Angel.

  • If you guys want to know what happens after the last episode just go by the comic books

    Angel: After the Fall

  • they should make a direct-to-dvd movie based on Angel: After the Fall, that would make way more sense

  • Yeah it really was brilliant the way it ended. I know the show had plenty more to offer, but instead of it maybe eventually going downhill, they made the show go out with a huge explosion with viewers in awe. If ya gotta go, go with style!

  • "If ya gotta go, go with style!"

haha so true. that's definitely joss's style.

I loved how it ended. I didn't think I would like it but I did, it couldn't have ended like Buffy did because it was an entirely different show.

But i love them both :)

  • Re: Angel's age. They added his human age to his vampire age. I loved the final episode, cuz they refused to back down and went out in a blaze of glory. But its saddening that it's over now. Except for the comics. Cordy shoulda been in season 5. Angel 4ever :)

  • Cordy was in season 5...one episode when she died.

  • I agree about Cordy. It really pissed me off how Joss screwed over Charisma Carpenter like that :(

  • Very funny. "Our friends at WB" were actually the ones whom terminated whole show. Time Warner's CEO could be great as one of the Senior Partners in the final episode.

  • The last episode sucked everybody was fighting and you could tell it wasnt going well but they were all so strong together that it's hard and weird to see

  • love this one, very very sad no more angel, i wish they had more seasons. it's funny, it's cool. it's unlike other shows. is there a movie coming out?

  • our "Friends at the WB cancelled it YET they keep shit like Charmed on it makes me ill!!!

Angel was starting to majorly suck without cordy tho, humf! maybe they would have brought her back xx

  • WB Cancelled Charmed 2 years later, shortly before the merger with UPN to create The CW.

  • the last episode was so short!! i mean they could of given us one more at the very least!

  • Screw you WB!!! Canceling a great show!! Yep indeed they got his age wrong!

  • No they did not, they put his human age in it to, from when he was born in 1727.

  • They ever got his age wrong.

  • OMFG! I MISS IT SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!! *sob*

  • I still can't understand why the canceled such a great show !

  • Rest assured that if Hell does exist, there is a place there for Levin and the other WB thugs who canceled this show

  • I miss it so much :'(

  • It should of had alteast 2 more seasons.

  • Ha Thts Nice But Funni

Fucking Cancel Them Half Way Through A Series, A Few Days After The 100th Episode Was Filmed, & Then Give Then A 32 Second Goodbye!

  • 30 seconds was NOT enough. We should've gotten, like, a whole freakin hour of thank you. They should've had a special where they went through every season and picked out the best moments and gotten interviews from the cast and crew. And, jeez, should've of done some comemeration for the actor that played Doyle.

  • This thank you is not enough. They cancelled one of the best shows to come on the WB ever- and a 32 second video is their way of "thanking" them? BS.

  • lmao they screw them over and give them a 32 second goodbye as if it makes everything okay!!

  • "Thank You"? More like "Fuck You!"

Stupid WB. Anyway guys, read Angel: After The Fall! It rocks so far!

  • Bastards. Try to be nice with their "thank you", although they're the ones who cancelled a show that didn't even have ratings that were that bad.

  • i thought the series just ended. now i find out that its been canceled? why was it canceled? is there a specific reason? i wish they made another season. who all agrees?

    ***Caitlin***

  • WB got rid of the show because they said shows like that ran their run and now shows like Lost are the new thing people want oh and WB hated Joss so they did it to piss him of but a month after the last eps of Angel Wb said to Joss that he could have a sixth season but would have to wait a year to start shooting so Joss told them to stick it up their ass.

  • its their loss. WB screwed over everything good that ever came to them. They got rid of Buffy, Roswell,Angel etc... and 2 seasons later the channel was destroyed

  • i miss angel so much! i have all 5 seasons and i watch them religiously!!

  • so do i!!

  • WAH! I miss Angel all the time! I watch seasons 1-5 over and over and whenever i finish i say 'DAMNIT I WANT A SIXTH SEASON!' stinkin' WB...

  • I watch Angel everyday still

  • Bastards. They should have shown a C/A kiss.

  • This is my favorite series. ANGEL RULES. WB SUCKS

  • Thank you? Man, I wanted to punch the WB execs for that one. If they really appreciated the fans, they would at least given Joss a full season to wrap things up. Season Six would of been great. *grumbles*

  • Yes but Joss didnt have the time to end I started the season with the intent of one more but he didnt have that so He chose the best way he wanted to series to end it would have been awesome to see one more season of Angel

  • Amen!

  • They really shouldnt have canceled Angel. :(

    Thanks for the upload though!
