ok, i have a friend who knows THE manager of Universal Orlando Resort, who is also overseeing the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, and my friend just talked to him today and he, the manager, said that everything is going great for that Rockit, and that if things continue to go well then the ride will be opening on Sunday, August 16, 2009!!!!!! I promice you I am NOT making this up, and that means that for now, the official opening date for the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is August 16, 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!

It only does that for testing. It actually goes pretty fast up the lift hill. The speed is 11 feet per second, and it takes 16 seconds to get to the top

Its slow because their testing the ride. Its probly the first time that motor has ever been used and they dont wanna ware it out so fast by running it at full speed the first time. Besides, it has to pull almost a ton of weight.

It probably won't be opening for a while. When I went to Universal just a few days ago the top part of the tower was taken off (I have photos if you want evidence) and they had a large crane by it. Maybe they had some problems with that section of the track?

Manta didnt copy Superman in any way. It's the same type of roller coaster, it has a pretzel loop, and the same creator. Manta is just a more complicated design. Superman was just a smaller version of a Flying Coaster. Superman is actually a copy of the one in Georgia.

Your stupid it's called a flying coaster. Just because another park buys the same ride type doesn't mean their copying it. Thats like saying if one park has a wooden coaster and another park gets one their totally just copying! there are hundreds of flying coasters other than superman at six flags over goergia.

For the record, the rides actual lift time will be FAR shorter, as the lift is designed to run at 11 feet per second

For testing purposes, they run it slower

I think it will open early i july, maybe if we are lucky middle-late june.

This delay is due they had some issues on the lift design and the work stopped for a little bit.
