  • Mate I love those beat repeats you have going on at 2:04. (I take it they are beat repeats haha)

How you finding the mpd? I'm torn as to what controller to get.

  • now thats how you dj

  • What the fuck? Electric saxaphone? Do they even make those?

  • cool...dude!

  • what are the faders doing when you're triggering the scratching samples?

    nice stove btw

  • @patyxxx They're mapped out to transpose in the Simplers playing the audio files in my Drum Rack. Make sure you loop the audio files so when they speed up they still play long enough.

PS: I like my stove too.

  • yeah man fantastic

  • @davebones Cheers mate!

  • Great.

  • Hi Vesper.. You are a god in my book.. So .. i got totally influenced by this video & music of yours, & i have ordered a MPD 32 and plan to do some live key playing, and singing.. hooked onto a macbook pro all running thru ableton.. Would you please tell me ur setup as in what have you mapped on o the knobs faders, etc.. Sorry if im sounding amateur, but i m a new to controllerism.. please give me a detailed mail at sherrin.varghese at the rate g mail

  • @Sheerrean Hey mate. Thanks for the kind words, but please don't put me up on a pedastal. I've just spent some time with the program and you're perfectly capable of everything I'm up to. For mappings, I'm using Sugar Bytes Artillery II VST, samples triggered in Ableton Drum Racks, then faders mapped to transpose on the scratch samples. Cheers!

  • How do you record and then have it loop like that? Is that from the EWI looping (what is that exactly?)

I'm very interested in doing live dubstep sets but I'm a bit lost as to where to start...

  • @torment3d Yep, it's the Looper plugin from Live 8. Sick plugin.

  • hahaha, that was friggin SICK!!!

  • @BillyLongacre Thanks mate. Had some fun glitchin in the kitchen.

  • so i have to ask... how did you make the rediculous scratching samples? sounds real nice.

  • @Juiceboxdubstep They're sampled off a scratch record actually. Then I loaded them into Drum Racks and presto! Little bit of midi mapping magic and good to go.

  • Hi DJ, At the moment I'm hooked on to my WX7 which I plug into my Yamaha Foot Pedal board and then by midi cable to my VLM-70 module (which I have upgraded with a Patchworks Turbo VL chip which has much better sounds than the default Yammy set) then with audio cables off to my Mixer and then to the Amps. The EWI will use the MIDIJET Pro.The EWI (which I have only just bought) has the new Patchworks set of sounds which gives much better than the default factory set.

  • @wx7yamaha Nice, the Patchman stuff is ACE!

  • What's that thing hanging off the bottom of the EWI?

  • @wx7yamaha It's a wireless midi pack. M-Audio Midair system. Cheers!

  • @DJVespers Hi ,I bought a MidiJet Pro which does the same thing but 1 How did you attach it and 2 How did you enable it?

  • @wx7yamaha Haha, you'll think this is ghetto but I attached it with black electricians tape. For enabling it, how are you plugging it in to Live? My MidAid system plugs into the laptop with USB and shows in Live's prefs pane as a midi controller. Simply enable it like any other remote. If yours plugs in via a midi cable to another midi interface, ensure it's ports are all active as remotes. Cheers!
