  • this album is another example of why we don't need to rely on digital music only...try to find it i bet you you won't

  • @wrabit79 Hey wrabit, believe it, more people have the album and cassette of this then you would believe even the first PPP, then the digital era took over as you said, and these albums..without turntables became obsolete and remained in dusty bins of old albums. Until recently when Tony Re-Mastered and Re-Released Pink World, it was a high auction bid for fans on Ebay as are still many other Carey/PPP related stuffs. Tonys website for more about ppp is truebeliever.de

  • Stole the cassete from some chick, never looked back once since. Epic is too short a word!

  • Still have the album on original vinyl... :)

  • TC is with Over the Rainbow, correct? Or,is he still with this group, now called Go Out Dancing?

  • @mrmjb1960 Well Tony hasnt Told me about any group called Go Out Dancing, thats the name of his recent PPP trilogy. Part One is called 1931 (Go Out Dancing Pt.1) Part Two is called Levittown (GOD pt 2)

and part 3 is entitled and also the final PPP cd Out in The Rain (GOD pt 3)

Tony left Over the Rainbow due to some serious health problems, they fixed him all up, brought him back and he is churning out cds left and right:) check his site at truebeliever.de

  • -the music & production was all the rage in 1984.

the music holds it's own still - what it kinda freaky, is that THE LYRICS are more valid than ever!

Well, they might have applied well back then, but they CERTAINLY apply now!,

    & most probably tomorrow!

Strange, & kinda scary - AND quite comforting, too. Look forward to the sequel!

  • @drgrlitz WASS Up Dr. .Hey man if you didnt know there were three more Planet P Project cds released.

Twenty years after Pink World, the cd PPP - 1931 (God Out Dancing Pt.1) was released. In 2008,

Levittown (Go Out Dancing Pt.2) and in 2010, what has been told to be the Final Planet P Project cd called

Out in the Rain (Go Out Dancing Pt.3) Try these on for size if you want to hear masterful writing. You will Not be disappointed in any way or means Tonys Website For More truebeliever.de

  • @pinkwrld actually PPP - 1931 was 2004.

  • I had this on vinyl back in the day. I had to hunt it down on cd last year. I still love this album. Tony Carey is an awesome writer/musician.

  • had this on vinly when it came out

  • Thank you so much for posting these I didn't even know they existed. Pink World is one of my top 5 favorite albums of all time. I used to own the double album on pink vinyl, until someone broke into my apt and for some reason took it and threw it out the window, i found the smashed pieces in the alley. but I am over it anyway Thanks again. Tony Carey is phenomenal!

  • i hope we don`t have to wait 2 -300 yrs. have whole lp at my blog. google akashamans kosmos. have fun

  • Do better... that's the challenge. Saw TC opening for, um - Night Ranger (guitarist - go figure.) Had a great time back in the States after being in S.A. for close to three years as a kid.

  • its the true beleivers we have to worry about...this is one of the best albums of alll time..it played in my nakamichi auto-reverse tape deck for about 2 months....lol...

next up was KAOS by roger waters, and then Amused To Death....these visionary albums will be looked at in 2 or 3 hundred years as prophetic messages from the spirit....

    meanwhile..don't drink the water.....

  • This is such a great video and song. I still have the original album on vinyl from when I was in high school. A few years ago I had a hell of a time getting a hold of it on CD. Thanks for posting this video.

  • Ultimately one of the best videos ever.....and my favorite PPP song! Loving it!

  • This video is a great piece of work

  • Indeed. The opening scene remembers of famous surreliast painter Magritte, and I have strong suspect that all official Planet P Project videos are directed by Storm Thorgerson (or the art group Hipgnosis of which he was member) which did the most Pink Floyd covers and many Magritte references.

  • Wow...and this is how we learn. I think I'm going to search who Margitte is on Google. Too cool!

  • Magritte (not "Margitte")... if you want to look for culture, rather try Wikipedia...

  • Actually I did go t Wiki right after you posted a reply to my initial post, and I never knew I was aware of so much of his work. Pop culture makes art so convenient that historical figures like Rene' Magritte become only facsimiles of their work. Underneath it all i guess I wouldn't mind being remembered for the essence of my work, it would let me and my lineage know that my work was so powerful that I inspired others to create. Again thank you for guiding me to Magritte.

  • Well said, he was quite influential. I'm not expert.. I discovered him thanx to Storm, and to a friend fan of the Alan Parsons Project (whose covers were done by Thorgerson) and which is a graphical artist. However once I happened to see a show of Magritte paitings.. as with many artists, seeing them live is qiute different than seeing in photo - i just stopped to try understand their impossible titles or sense, and let emotions flow. And I had same feel later at a show of Storm's PF covers.

  • are those girls quadruplets?

  • In the Zone,,,

  • Thank you so much for posting this, makes me so happy...

  • Artemis...

    Cool!

  • And the world went temporarily sane.

  • I barely remember this one but now that I'm older I can see this was a foot step towards death metal , so much for the theory that wasp created it.

  • Saludos de ICC *****

  • Woodpecker grids = electrified cages for splitting the mind, thousands of children were subjected to this in Operation Monarch (MKUltra) (china lake naval base)

  • you made mr cry... with love... future...

  • and so it has come to pass..1984...

"they got the cutest little cameras hanging everywhere, oh yeaaahhhh

after a while you forget their there, oh yeaahhh

    what a perfect place......

    this perfect place...

  • I was thinking the same thing just a few days ago! "he was preachin revolution when he talked in his sleep- oh, yeah... and his mother called security and sold him out cheap, oh yay- what a perfect place!" (this part is coming too, I bet)

  • This all seems like a lifetime ago.

  • I just got this on CD, before i heard the whole thing, I did not know what this was about. I guess a small boy drank bad factory water, gained powers, and took over the world. That's what I thought it is about.

  • Comment removed

  • and as the story on the album continued though he did what people expected of him they betrayed him and took him for granted so he finally said enough and the barrier fell...dont blame the kid, i woulda done the same thing

  • ..i hate obama too but that was just lame. this song was written while he was still munching watermelon in kenya or wherever hes from. definitely not the u.s.

  • One time in the 80's I was sleeping and this came on the radio (boombox) behind my head. I was really asleep but I could still hear it. Way cool!

  • I heard that they are going to release this album on CD in December. That is what they told me at Allied Record Exchange. I think they said the 9th of December.

  • This is such an awesome song, lyrics, music, video - I've grown up loving this album and it has always given me an eerie prophetic feeling - Tony is amazing!

    Jessica Michael

  • Thanks for posting... one of the greatest albums ever made!

  • Another PPP video I've never seen. No surprise, MTV always sucked balls and I probably missed it. BTW, Levittown is brilliant. Tony is great. Thanks for posting.

  • Have to share something- I loved Tony Carey in High School- just was listening to 'First Day of Summer' and then decided to search for another song I enjoyed in high school but havent heard since- Behind the Barrier- I had no idea it was Planet P- no wonder I liked it! Thanks for posting-

  • Thanks I was young and reading alot of Sci fi. Loved to go there in my mind while hearing the album. Another album that took me there was Atom Heart Mother. Respect, Taki

  • good song.. I like it ok!

  • never thought I'd see this video again! Still have this on cassette tape. Thanks for posting!

  • I have not heard this song in 20+ years.thanx.

  • Great Stuff Pinkwrld, I have been into P since it came out. Back thru the Wayback M

achine. Never knew there was 'Pink World' I thought P was a one hit wonder with 'why me'Alas my ignorance.I am trying to d-load this on my reputable site.got all but 6 songs. Man 'Pink World " is going for 60 $ on e -bay. Wore out 2 copies of P's first lp. Thanks for bieng here and turnin me on to Pink World._Bob

  • Oh really, lets put it to you this way, when you record 4 albums, and not make a dime because all your money was embezzeled by Mr.Hauke. Pink World wasnt a grasp..let me see, Tommy,El Dorado, Time,Joes Garage even Sgt Pepper for that matter and the list goes on. So a concept album is just that, most of these guys who did this stuff in the 80's dont remember it anyway haha

    Pinkwrld

  • sorry dude but you are so so wrong, Tony has answered that same question over and over. The two concept albums you compare, 1 of an aging rockstar, loves his heroin, and hallucinates like a son of a bitch, play em both back to back. PW is on my myspace page in its entirety. Sit back, then the wall and admit god i was so wrong. I will have a comment hopefully by this evening from Tony. Sorry reads this, I've made my point and friend of Tonys kinda puts me in the zone Sorry

    Pinkwrld

  • I totally agree, I don't see how anyone could imagine that Pinkworld was some dumb ripoff of the Wall, that's ridiculous! It's not as if the lyrics are clouded in metaphor, they were both pretty straightforward in their meaning, and obviously very different! thanks for posting it!

  • Do you all know that this was all reinterpretation of the Pink Floyd songs....this was the whole point of the band

  • Well, now the more I look at Artemis, the more I think I remember now. Just very fuzzy, thats all. Bits and pieces. Oh well, nothing is sweeter than finding a sapphire (or a pink diamond??:) among rhinestones. You are sweet too pinkwrld.

  • Oh yeah tommyrock, isnt it strange that you remember this album after 25 years. The album has the same luster of a concept album, no different then Tommy or the wall. Tony Carey took this project and wrote, sang and played every instrument on it. Its simply one of many cult albums, that has been remembered by people of our age probably, regardless if liked or not it is remembered, and for some in high regards in our library.

    Pinkwrld

  • So glad to see this...reminds me of when I watched MTV for hours on end and when it wasn't pure crap LOL....I always loved the video and the eerie footage. Loving the skeleton army dudes! No one makes music or videos like this any more. Classic. Genius. Thanks for posting....memories!

  • Incredible stuff isnt it. This is the second half of the "Pink World" video, I had to take them apart to add, but its a perfect cut. Make sure you watch Do You See What I See, for the beginning of Artie haha

    Pinkwrld

  • Again, it's amazing to see the Pink World video again. It's too bad Tony couldn't do a video for the entire album.

I remember being really spooked by those walking dead soldiers (particularly the bit where the one "sings" the refrain in the second chorus).

I'm going to have to break out my pink vinyl LP copy of Pink World now! :-)

  • i think pink world was one of the best lp's of the 80's...this cat didnt care what people thought...hope hes happy

  • pink world was one of the best cd's of the 80's...he was just a dude who did what he wanted and didnt give a f*** what people thought

  • Man, sounds like a Meatloaf story. He made not a dime off 'Bat out of Hell'Sad but True.

  • And many more like them...

    Pinkwrld

  • Its available on CD now. I should know...best friend has bought it twice now...

  • Ones that are available these days are only ones people have kept, in plastic or otherwise. The cd went out of print over a decade ago. They are not sold through Tony's company, so once in awhile it pops up somewhere on ebay, or amazon auction, as far as ever buying a copy, NOPE. TC's manager at the time, embezzeled funds from his first four cds, TC has never made money off I wont be home tonight, some tough city, Planet P Project and Pink World, and doesnt to this day.

    Pinkwrld

  • Actually, the 25 anniversary of that disc is coming next year, oh and its been out of print in early 90's, so lets go back a couple decades haha

    Pinkwrld

  • OMG, I wore out three copies of this cassette and have the fourth still in my collection, but it is on life support! This was genius work that has rarely been matched in modern music!

    DKK

  • OMG!! Thank-you, thank-you!! Haven't seen this in 20+ years. I feel 13 again. This was the SHIT to me when I was 13!!

  • Yep, Das da Shit, lost a few of, as Hercule Poirot would says, "ah but you may be losing some of your little grey cells my friend" during that time....damn the memories haha.....

    Pinkwrld

  • Thank you for posting this video! I haven't seen this thing in over 20 years, but I never forgot the impression it left on my wee littl' brain. I just couldn't figure out which song it was! Took a lot of digging around until now! I can die happy and pacified now (kidding!) Thanks!

  • Hey your welcome man, glad ya got to see it once more before ya died haha. Later

    Pinkwrld

  • This is the greatest video of that year.I used to sneak up to watch"Nightflight"to catch it!Man its great to see it again!

  • Cool stuff eh!!!

    Pinkwrld

  • one huge fan looking. so great to see his stuff out here

  • Hey glad you liked. I've had all of these Tony Carey and PPP videos locked away basically, "no way there mine" Well when I found this Tube thing, now's the time to share, so I hope you enjoyed the others they are very rare some.

    Pinkwrld

  • This video has an interesting conception of the Barrier. I pictured it as a gigantic, shimmering telekinetic barrier protecting the Zone against nuclear missiles and radioactive fallout, but it's intriguing to see the very different interpretation shown in the video. Thanks for posting it.

  • Your quite welcome my friend. Conceptual cds, gotta love em cause like yourself you had your own mental images of your own, which like you said, were totally different then what you expected. What art is all about

    Pinkwrld

  • A fan of Plant P Project. Did you know that Tony Cary go the name Planet P from a Robert A. Heinline novel called Starship Troopers? I got this album through an on-line record store on CD. I later found his first Planet P album at a local music store. And that was some 20 years after it's release. I love the story about Artimus. This is definantly a cult classic. Yet I wish that it got more acclaim than it had. Thanks for a first glimps at this terrific video for me.

  • Quite welcome. Tony released this lp, music was changing in 84 and with the concept thing artists can only get one or two releases, Tony released video Pink World, some play on mtv but being almost 9 min long it didnt fit most stations play if he had have released Power or Boy Who Cant Talk, Pink World for that matter, would have been more play. far as cult cd, its had that status for many years. People still scream to find the cd, now and then a couple pop on ebay or amazon.

    Pinkwrld

  • Are these 2 videos the only from his Planet P Project Album. Behind the Barrier and What I See? If not, where can I see the others. I have already seen Why Me a few times from his first album. But what about The Pink World Album?

  • There was only one video from Pink World, called Pink World. The video combined both songs

Do You See What I See/Behind the Barrier. Play them in that order. I had to split two vids, 9:00 minute long video. From the Planet P album, Why Me, Static. Thats it my friend.I have Static, had on for awhile, but messed up and deleted will be putting that and several other Tony Carey vids up shortly

    Pinkwrld

  • this song always haunted me because of

the way the themes were worked

    ala waters or townsend. timeless...

  • OMG are u for real!!All is required! Pink World and all after that! you are the best pinkwrld. Hey, say hi to Tony for me!-Bob

  • This song takes me waaaaaaay back to the 80's! I remember watching this video on MTV back in the day when they actually played videos. I still have my Pink World CASSETTE! Thanks for a great memory.

  • Thanks for this, I have been trying for Pink World for ages on Ebay. Major PPP fan never knew videos existed of P World. Closest I have to hearing the album.- you have my gratitude. -Bob

  • Not to shabby, the 4 PPP video releases were all compared to Floyd.

    Pinkwrld

  • Good As Pink Floyd!

  • Holy COW! I haven't seen this video (or its companion) since sometime in early 1985. Amazing.

    Thanks a ton for these!

  • Your quite welcome, and I hope you enjoyed the rest, no point in keeping them locked away when many would love to see and hear his stuff again. Got 3 new cds coming out this month, Voyager Tapes, his first since Islands and Deserts, Boystown Tapes Re-Issue and Live in Sweden. His music is just as good today as then

  • I always knew there should have been videos for this concept album!

  • It's amazing that so many years have passed and this album is still so powerful. Thanks for posting this. I never seen it.

  • Welcome my friend, lot of people dropping by to see these ones, like you said, you never seen before. (but noone's subscribing hahaha) Hope you enjoyed em all my friend

    Pinkwrld

  • yes, i commented on that video as well.

Though i like the vision presented in the videos, I always had my own movie playing in my head while i listened :)

  • Bless you for posting this!

I wore out my cassette of this and luckily have it on cd now

  • I'm glad you enjoyed, make sure you enjoyed. The actual video is called Pink World and the two songs were mixed Do You See What I See/Behind the Barrier.

Hope you enjoyed the others as well. Thnx
