  • Childish animation.

  • too bad they didn't initiate the go around when they first spotted the lightning

  • Thank you for the update....

  • Our best machines and at times best efforts pale as to what nature can do. So sad the loss of the flight's passengers and crew. I hope all have been able to find closure in the face of monumental loss.

  • Approach speed was insufficient to deal with a weather cell in its' immediate area. I've read DL191 was immediately behind a bizz jet on final approach which forced DL191 to reduce its' approach speed. I've seen the numbers from the flight data recorder and this L1011 was rolling right & left, and pitching up & down, up to 50 degrees and within fractions of a second of one another, just prior to hitting the ground the first time. The left seat pilot was killed when water tower was struck.

  • From what i understand..the aircraft crash due to a severe loss of airspeed almost 44 knots of indicated airspeed on final...

  • So tragic! They almost made it.

  • That is NOT the way it happened.... take it off or do it right!!

  • @MrTimkimball at no point in the description or in the video does this say "simulation" its dumbasses like you that make fine print necessary. (e.g. not a simulation, do not attempt, professional driver closed course, re-enactment)

  • For the people who say the plane crashed bacause of turbulence, the L-1011 crashed due to a huge microburst, which appeared out of nowhere in a matter of minutes. The NASA company tested on microbursts, risking their own lives. God bless the 137 people who died.

  • @AJM28211, I agree with you, in fact there are 5 crashes that have the flight number, 191.

    1. X-15 Flight 191 (Killed Michael J. Adams)

    2. Prinair Flight 191 (A domestic flight in Puerto Rico)

    3. American Airlines Flight 191 (DC-10)

    4. Delta Airlines Flight 191 (L-1011 TriStar)

    5. Comair Flight 191 (Delta 5191 in Delta Connection)

I think that most airlines wouldn't use 191 as they might worry that the plane will crash on that flight number.

  • @FSXTheGreat

Heck, any flight number that can be flipped around and be the same number is bad luck, not just with the 191's.

United Flight 232, United Flight 585, American Flight 11, Air Canada Flight 797, and Japan Air Flight 404.

  • @FSXTheGreat Also BOAC 911 in 1966.

  • 191 must be a bad luck number

  • I usaly love the sound of the Rolls Royce RB211'S but in this case its just frightening !!!!!

  • First time I see a Tristar's crash.

  • My wife and four year old son were killed in this crash!!! I was at the airport waiting for them and saw the plane go into the ground!!!

  • Terribly inaccurate. You think they flew the plane into the ground nose first?

  • tony the mann above says he lost his wife and son in this crash that happened in 1985..he puts his age at 41 when the comment was made..hmmmm..that means he had a wife and son at age 16?

  • Let me first convey my heartfelt sorrow for everyone involved in this tragedy, then thankyou for your work in helping to shed more light on what happened, aircraftinvest, so that we humans who try desperatly to better ourselves and tame the wildness of our reality, sometimes with utter failure that costs human lives that are too valuable to calculate. I post my vid response to shed even more light, tat this type of accident will never happen again! God bless all involved.

  • This is BS because the plane hit the highway, then came back up and down again. When it hit the road, it took the roof off of the car and decapitated a guy. I was living there when it happened and my mother was working at that airport at the time of the crash.

  • where you have downloaded it :) thx

  • You got the crash wrong. The plane supposed to bounce from the ground then low flies over highway 114 then hits the ground again then crashes into a cyllinder-shaped building which i think it's a tanker. if you want to see the right crash, look at

    Karlamon9's vid.

  • FSDT made a memorial stone i think, at the crashsite

    \

  • my best friend would have been on this flight if it wasn't for the taxi driver being late picking him up god bless all those that lost a loved one

  • not very accurate.

  • @tonythemann R.I.P to your wife and son D:

    To you from the canadians

  • Does not show the whole crash of course. I remember this well since I was living in Grapevine TX at the time, the town they are flying over. The aircraft actually landed in a field just north of Hwy 114, about a mile short of the runway. That field is now an office complex. The pilot was able to get it airborne again but was so low he took out a car on Hwy 114 with his landing gear and went into the water tank just off the north east corner of DFW's east runway.

  • aaachhh wieder diese FS Scheiss

werd mal erwachsen vollidiot, euer videos geht mir auf die eier

geh doch kacken bevor du landest

  • ik ben zo geschroken

  • wow this is one good plane pilot for lasting that long on a strom like that

  • microburst are more severe than wind shears

  • The driver in that car was decapitated.

  • The aircraft's engine destroyed a car in traffic on the highway (highway 114) north of the airport before hitting two large water tanks.

  • How stupid!

  • Whats stupid? Do you even know what you're talking about?

  • Its just a simulation. I just think its a waste of time.

  • Which runway did it crash on?

  • The GPWS Signal in the final moments and than there is that weird sound it is not that "Woop Woop" sound it is like at 1:43

  • @AndyMcArren1356..they say that' the auto pilot that upon crashing starts saying pulled up???? i mean wth??

hearing this is so disturbing cus i love traveling :(

  • lol ur flying a either a trident, tu-154, or a 727...all three are wrong it was a delta dc-10

  • @KartKing4ever ...You're wrong too!!!! The aircraft that crashed at DFW was a L10-11!!!!!!!!

  • its a lockheed 1011 tristar

  • @Felipe140396 it was called the L-1011 TRISTAR u dope

  • no it was a lockheed L-1011 tristar

  • the real name for the Lockheed L-1011 Tristar is Lockheed 1011 Tristar

  • why r u all so mean to delta airlines???

  • What is that eery "whirring" noise at 1:28 after the pilot says "push it way up"?

  • The sound is the engines of the aircraft at high RPM.

  • yep push it way up

  • @ylekiot43 they were pushing the engines up to a higher speed, which caused the sound...

  • well god bless those who lost there lives on that doomd flight,i lost a friend on 1980 saudia l10 11 firy crash!

i am sorry 4 ur loss but, they r in heaven!

  • OK, I only had to say delta airlines slammed to the ground only 2 times.Pilots tried there best on putting fraps over trying to land the airplane but failed on landing. the sky was foggy and 191 fell from the sky. The ground was smooth over and 191 hits a building I think 3000 feet from the control tower right? but who cares? otherwise love the video.

  • My mom's best friend died on this flight.

    Just thought I'd share that...

  • yea same all thoughts

    to u

  • Comment removed

  • i am sorry 4 your loss......

  • Sorry My Friend for your loss. May God bless you! Regards.

  • @tonythemann On this flight?

  • @tonythemann My heart goes out to you!!

  • @tonythemann RIP from holland

  • @tonythemann I'm very sorry to hear this and am trying to fight tears. May God always be with you and I hope you one day find peace. Very sorry about your lost.

  • @tonythemann I'm so sorry... I hope all is well in the future! :)

  • @tonythemann i feel bad for you dude, im pursuing a career in aviation as a airline pilot when i grow up and i hope to everything that my whole career until i retire ide never have to go through this, i just wanna feel the adrenaline and joy of flying.

  • @tonythemann Wow. So sorry to hear that. May God bless you and your family!!

  • @tonythemann I really fell sorry for you. That was one of the nastiest things I have ever seen in my life. R.I.P.

  • @tonythemann well said man!

  • Well I think we should grieve for the people perished and not debate about the simulation or the program used for that ! It was a very tragic day. Don´t forget that on August 2nd 1985 128 people lost their lifes ! They are dead ! They left papas, mothers, sisters and children ! Whole families collapsed ! So please have more decency ! Who cares if this animation is made with FSX or FS 2004 ? I don´t care about because I feel sorry for the ones left...

  • answer honored

  • wow sad comments :/

    nice simulated man

  • not realistic

  • mierda no suban esos putos juegos

  • stupid thats microsoft simulator

  • WAT GAME IS THIS !!!

  • Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2004

  • that was a game

  • he does know that it was a wind shear that brought the plane down rite?

and the plain had a nose up attitude when it crashed

  • is that a game?

  • either FSX or FS2004

  • did any body die???

  • the crash in dallas happened because of the microburst and it also crashed into a water tank thingy, trust me, my grandfather was there that day

  • Comment removed

  • I know this video is old, but to the guy that made this video, you are not supposed to use rudder unless you have some sort of engine failure or in a heavy crosswind. The amount of rudder deflection you used could have easily ripped the rudder apart if it where a real aircraft and not a stupid video game.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL, the landing gear too.

  • R.I.P FROM CALIFORNIA

  • I reckon The Internet has taken over from CB radio for attracting the most complete idiots on the planet........................

  • Yup.... thanks for joining us !

  • :-)

  • hahahaah

  • it was a microburst that brought this lockheed L1011 airliner down and it didnt nose dive it was pushed to the ground from sevre windshear and the pilots didnt have enough power supplied to the engines to conduct a go around in time!

  • horrible such as your comment

  • F**** oFF!!!

  • wow... no this is very innacurate. The plane didn't go nose down. Instead as the wind pushed down they angled up to counter and failed causing a stall. They then pitched down but not a whole lot. then crashed.

  • wtf! a plane flying w/ wheels outside..nyahhahaha

  • ummmm thats normal for landing dumbass

  • When delta 191 crashed it was attempting to land just after taking off, this is an accurate representation of what was happening, the landing gear was indeed down

  • ur an idiot, u obviously know nothing about this crash

  • Exactly what Mancunianforever said, he was attempting to land after taking off, so his landing gear would be down obviously

  • And the friendliest canadian on youtube? im canadian and i wouldnt call someone and idiot just for that.

  • there are documentries all over youtube about why the plane crashed.......he was not taking off and trying to land, he was on final approach from another city.

  • watch?v=wf6tyYFf5EM&feature=related check out that video. "just as the plane takes off, it looses and engine, and aircraft control radios them back in"

  • This seems to be people getting confused about two different crashes. Firstly, American Airlines Flight 191, a DC-10, crashed after its No.1 engine broke off during take-off from Chicago O'Hare, 25th May 1979. Killed, 271+2 people on the ground, survivors,0. Secondly, Delta Flight 191, a TriStar which crashed due to microburst induced wind shear while coming in to land at Dallas-Fort Worth, on 2nd August 1985. Killed 134+1 on the ground, survivors, 29. Hope that this helps clear things up a bit.

  • its about to land. therefore the wheels should be out.

  • wtf u dont even see it land thats a shit vid just shows a cartoon plane flying FOOL!!

  • this is fake for god sake

  • yes its a simulator ="mock up" of an actual accident

  • which part of it is fake? the video? of course it is.

  • What program is it?

  • fsx

  • WHOOP WHOOP YOURE FUCT WHOOP WHOOP YOURE FUCT

*bible pops down on a tube in place of oxygen mask*

  • so shut the fuck up faggots

  • I love how these jackasses are on here always thinking they know everything about planes and whatever the fuck else, listen mother fuckers, you're dumb and don't know shit, you're just on youtube acting like you know shit when really you know NOTHING!

  • ok lets hear it genius....lol

  • actually i'm a senior captain on British airways 747-400's with 15,000 hours so I think i'm fairly qualified to talk about planes thanks

  • congrats fudge packer

  • Forget my last comment, both incidents look similar. The incident relating to my comment was the cause of complete hydrulic pressure loss, the crew elected to manoeuvre the aircraft using thrust on each of the engines to control pitch and yaw. The aircraft decended too fast and too steeply and tumbled and crashed on approach. The wreckage of each of the aircraft look similar too.

  • In the real event with no hydraulic pressure to operate the ailerons/rudder and elevator/vertical stabiliser, why would you extend the flaps? Since the actuators are also hydraulically operated.

  • Wast of my time didn't even see the LAND.

  • Porky: I've listened to just about every CVR I can get my hands on (and there's a lot of them -- a bad habit of mine, I'll admit) and you'd be surprised at just how calm most of them are up until the last moments. The most chilling one I *EVER* heard was ASA529 -- the co-pilot telling his wife he loved her as if he were just walking out the door. They're not ALL calm, but a surprising number are. As if to say "Well, I've done everything I can. It's up to whomever is in charge now."

  • where did you get that L1011 ?

    good vid

  • u fuckin moron!

  • i saw the dent in the big tank the wing of that plane hit

it crushed a guy in his car on the highway by it in the landing gear

i was on that highway today

  • did you know that when the guy got crushed on the highway and died, it was his birthday that day? They made a movie about that. The title is "Fire and rain".

  • wow

  • notice how calm they are? damn

  • this is really inaccurate, the aircraft actually hit a field before crossing the highway, but then managed to get airborne again before hitting a water storage tank at DFW

  • i dont agree with lamfukenripped because it was a very good reconstruction!!!

  • We flew in about 1/2 hr before Flt. 191 got knocked down. The initial contact and subsequent slide along the ground was survivable. One of the wings hit a water tank and the planes' fuselage was spun nose-first into another one. Those cells we flew thru were really fierce. It was a HAIRY flight ! Welcome to a Great Plains thunderstorm. Not recommended flying weather.

  • wow did you see it happen?.

  • i saw the dent it made on the tank

its right by Founders Plaza where you can wacth planes go in and out of the airport

  • This was a very inaccurate video of what happened. The plan sank at its nose long before crossing over the highway, in fact it hit the ground once in a field before the highway, regained minor altitude, and then hit a car on the highway before hitting the ground again, short of the runway. Your video has the plane reaching the runway curtain (it never did). And the constant moving around of POV was distracting.

    Try again.

  • a microburst is not a storm cell......

its the sudden downdraft created by a strong thunderstorm.

  • hard

  • The episode of Seconds From Disaster regarding this crash was on this morning. I have never flown before but I already know I'd need a strong sedative to get me into a plane.

I have a hard time making out anything they're saying except for 'pull-up'. And starting at 1:28 it sounds like there's a train going through the cockpit. Just terrible.

May all those that lost their lives in this and other air crashes R.I.P

  • That 'train' is the sound of the increase of power to the engines made by the co-pilot necessary for them to get back the speed they lost in the microburst.

Its a good episode but I have always loved flying and ACI only made my passion more intense.

  • they almost made it 2 the Apt and,i hate wind shear!

  • At 1:43 someone says "toga" or "togo".

Anyone know the signifigance of that?

  • It was 'TOGA' which refers to the 'Take Off Go Around' button

  • toga means take-off go around. usually is used on landing if they can't land at that time.

  • it means take off go around

  • If you read the description of the accident on wikipedia, this video is totally whack.

  • no, this is very close to what actually happened.

  • Thunder from the nearby lightning strikes disrupted airflow into the engines causing them to lose power. This phenomenon is why jet aircraft aren't supposed to fly thru or near thunderstorms.

  • Very good recreation, and I mean it's important for crews to learn and try to avoid those conditions whenever is possible.

  • DAMN MAMA!!!!!

  • GREAT.

  • It was a .25 Windshear. I misplaced my point. Sorry.

  • It was a 2.5 Windshear to be exact. The crew were caught off guard. The Captain of this plane was an excellent aviator. He should have commanded TOGA, Take-off, Go-around, when he stated, " your going to lose it all of the sudden, there it is. At that point the plane was in a precarious situation. Also, they were not using the Flight Director for Optimal Climb-out manuevers.

  • 2sunk: As an 18 yr Delta flight attendant you ought be ashamed! Your stupidity and foul mouth are indicative of who you are. This was my "family" and my friends who perished in this terrible crash. Get an education loser and learn to speak correct english. Your parents did a sorry job with you.

  • relax and learn english my friend

  • Check your facts. I am a Flight Crash Investigator. It was a Windshear with a Penetrative Microburst in association.

  • Check your facts as well Airframe 34 it was severed hydraulic lines and design deficiencies in the left engine pylon which suffered a stress fracture that gradually worsened each day the plane took flight coupled with improper cost cutting maintenence procedures in using a forklift to remove the engine pylon and the engine as one piece instead of complete engine removal during the plane's recent 8week left engine replacement from maintenence crews who sincecopped a half a million dollar fine.

  • You are referring to American Airlines Flight 191, Not Delta 191 which was brought down by windshear. AA 191 had fatigue cracks in the engibe pylon caused by incorrect engine removal teachniques as you described. But watch what accident to which you refer. Thanks.

  • You are speaking of American Airlines 191, not Delta 191 which is the CVR in this case. It is an eerie resemblance in numbers.

  • No AA 191 is the case where the engine fell of the wing and leaking hydraulic fluid caused an asymmetric flaps condition causing the aircraft to bank out of control and crash.

As an aside. DL 191, AA191, Prinair 191, and Comair 191 (DL5191) have all crashed.

  • Like I stated AA 191 crashed because of fatigue cracks in the Engine Pylon due to an improper removal process. Delta 191 crashed due to Windshear in Dallas, Texas, which is this CVR recording. I work for the NTSB and know my accidents. I was correcting another user who made the same mistake with confusing the Flight numbers with the appropriate airline crash. See my response from 2 days ago where I clarified my remarks. Thanks.

  • Sorry. I guess the real issue here is that, sadly, there are too many accidents to keep straight.

  • Air Crash Investigation via FlightSim is a very funny thing. It will never looks like the real NTSB flight path movies which contains real data. This movie costs a lot of time for wrong results.

  • well they knew there was a storm but the pilots switched comms from weather to the tower comms so they didn't hear the full message all they heard was generally storm

  • it was a microburst acctually

  • Yes, it was a microburst. The pilots could have avoided the situation altogether if they chose not to fly into the storm. The recording clearly proves they were aware of the danger, but decided to take the risk anyway. May all Delta 191 victims rest in peace.
