As a voice major it annoys me to no end to see people comment things like "Tony's voice is wearing off" Do you actually know what it sounds like when a singer's voice starts deteriorating? Do you know that vocal deterioration is an actual term? Someone's voice sounding different than you're used to does not mean his voice is gone. That's like saying "Tommy's drums sound different here than in the studio. His drumming is deteriorating."

He easily climbs up past the "tenor" C at the end of the song, what exactly is wrong with his voice? Go back and listen to this on FTSOR, It sounds nearly identical. The sound quality on this dvd is the only issue...Every instrument sounds slightly odd on it, why is it okay for the instruments to use the excuse of bad sound quality, yet the singer sucks when hes coming from the same source? You guys are nutty, let's hear your version of this song before you start knockin tony...

@I3lindGuardian I completely agree with you. All these people bashing Tony and diagnosing him with things... Do you actually know a thing about how the human voice works? Can you actually tell the difference between Vocal Deterioration and "He sounds different here"? So refreshing to see another comment on this subject.

They're a bit slow...honestly I'm dissapointed with this concert not only because of Elias as most trashers would say but because they all aren't as wild as they used to be FTSOR is better cause it brings better atmosphere...dafuq is with this audience :S Tony's voice is wearing off

elias's guitar has gotten better over the years, as hes had years to practice the material, when ftsor era he was brand new, and was still learning the material, so he had a few mistakes, eloas is a great guitar player.. im not going into a jani vs elias debate.. but the newer stuff he sounds 100 times better

I think the reason why I don't miss Jani is because I discovered SA in 2010, so Elias was already in the band there. Personally, I think Elias is an amazing guitarist and he seems really awesome as a person, too.

It's easy to say my friend, but as an audio engenier, I must tell you that the guitar is well placed into the mix. Listen to the first verse of "The Last Amazing Grays", then compare to the second one, where the guitar enters. There's a new video by a user called "sonataarcticachile" called "Elias vs Jani 2" or something. Elias's solo for Victoria's secret is much more clean and simply sounds better. I mean no ofense. I just think Elias deserves less hate, and more recognition.

I thought you wrote that he played it better IN FTSOR, implying that he was the guitarist in that as well. Although I have to add that the FTSOR version sounds a LOT better, every song, not because of Elias but because the mixing is horrible - compare with ANY other DVD concert like Nightwish End of an Era or Kamelot One Cold Winter's Night.

@TrapnestShinigami That's very true. Apart from Sonata Arctica's last album being really boring compared to every other album, it wasn't because of Elias, since he doesn't write the songs. He fills Jani's shoes better than anyone could from what I know (except from maybe Syu, but he has Galneryus xD).

He can play anything Jani can play, and he proved that to me live while shredding the Black Sheep solo like a mother fucking boss the first time I saw them live.

Yeah, but again, it has a lot to do with what people like. I myself like TDOG in second place, right after Reckoning Night. I specially love Deathaura more than the whole Ecplitica album. On Elias, some new fans that strated with them in 2008 - 2009 never even cared that much about Jani. But music is a lot about what I like, what you like, but there should not be place for "he sucks". For example, I don't really like Syu, but I don't go arround bashing on him. He has his style

@TrapnestShinigami Ummm.. Actually Tony is spot on here. His overtones and passagio transitions are just as good, if not better, than they were in For the Sake of Revenge. I don't mean to be rude but, don't diagnose singers if you can't tell the difference between Vocal Fatigue and mic quality. But I see that in general you're on Tony's side so, good :)

@relicanth101 The sound of this DVD in general annoys me. The mixing in this song is alright, but on most tracks Tony's vocals and Henkka's keys are far too loud, Elias' guitar is almost inaudible. I'm a huge SA fan and I haven't bothered to buy this yet, I'm happier just listening to the other live albums and the Unia and TDOG studio albums.

@ROONTANG i have uploaded the 5.1 that for some reason mixed like this for youtube, theres a stereo version in the dvd that is exactly like the other albums. i think it sounds clearer as it is now but yes, sometimes the guitar sounds like shit !! buying would be the best option i suppose :)

You can clearly hear the audience in the beginning. The audience is "just" badly mixed.

I think it's not about the crowd, it's about how it's recorded/mixed. People complain about the crowd in a lot of live dvds where you even can actually see the crowd going crazy.
