i can play other chords easily but with this chord it makes a completley diffrent sound when i try and i have no idea why

I wasn't taught like that according to the "Hal Leanard Guitar Method Book." So either your playing it weirdly or I'm playing the C Chord weirdly. 1 of the 2.

try pressing the middle of the frets please, i hate when you people show beginners chords but you're pressuring the silver bars which is not the fret, the frets are in between the silver bars,

@sidman1408 I'm sorry friend but you are mistaken. The frets are the silver bars on the guitar. If you took your guitar in to a shop to get fret work done they would work on those silver bars. When you play a note inbetween those bars it is common to get fret buzz. Your tone will be more clean if you play just above the "silver bars" aka. The FRETS

@roxy1luver Your finger tips are gonna hurt until you develop calluses. After you've played and your finger tips hurt soak them in rubbing alcohol. That helps toughen them quicker. Don't play right after soaking them though.

@1500mp lol yeah i had same problem but u gotta kinda force them apart, hold them there, and let go of the chord, then repeat lol. its annoying but it helped me out. im a begginer too. idk maybe u already got it. but thought id try to help someone

it takes practice to get your fingers nice and stretched out.

when i started, it was challenging but now my fingers are nice

and flexible. a friend told me to put the neck of my guitar in between

each of my fingers and move my hand in a side-to-side movement to

stretch them out. try it! hope it all works out for you! <3

Don't get frustrated, you'll get it. Try the barre version of the C chord and then get back to it.

if you can't play the c chord, try and learn the f chord then the c chord seems simple compared to that

I couldnt get my fingers to stay in place either since I have short stubby ones but I started going up from the bottom and kinda angled my hand and it worked. just keep practicing. It took me about 3 weeks just to get this chord down which is horrible -_-
