Two of my few picks with this movie are during the run: there's the allegation that a guy did well for himself printing "shit happens" bumper stickers, and the absurd happy face print from wiping mud off Forrest's face. That's called messing with the "willing suspension of disbelief" that lets us enjoy a movie we know is fiction. The theatre audience didn't so much laugh at these points as they groaned when I first watched the movie.

So there. I've still watched it four times.

Funny, I am a retired Marine but I teach science, and while I have read plenty of articles that make claims, I have never come across anything that scientifically proves that running is bad for the knees.
