It's just amazing how she graduated from Columbia while taking breaks to continue her music career in Korea and still be able to be in Phi Beta Kappa. She's always wanted to go back to school and was able to achieve that dream when she was 34 years old. I'm sure it was a great honor for her to sing at her graduation and she probably wanted to make this song her own :)
She has a lovely voice. I'm sure any criticism has nothing to do with her Nationality....but with the "vocal acrobatics" , which so many seem to feel is a necessary augmentation of a difficult ( to sing) National Anthem. Please don't bring race or Ethnicity into it.....that's not it at all.. Personally the "warbling" distracts me as well.....no matter how pure the voice. Save that for Jazz and R&B vocals.

Lena Park didn't overdo it. Everyone sings the national anthem that way. Plus, she's an R&B singer with a background in gospel music, so I don't expect her to sing it just straight out.

It is not all about how you are good at singing.. and trust me you sing better than most Mtv stars in US.. but the fact that you can represent not only koreans.. but the Asians in the US... makes me stand up and clap as hard as i can for your awesome performance.

I recommend you have to listen her other songs in live, you can't understand Korean lylics though. This video doesn't show her real talent. I wasn't a big fan of Park, but I suppose she is great singer.

박정현이 과하다고??? 솔직히 난 이은미 같은 가수보다 훨씬 낫다고 생각함. 이은미씨 물론 실력있는 가수지만 자기 절제를 못하고 과하게 한다고 생각한 적이 많음. 팬들분께 죄송하지만 개인적으로 그렇게 생각함. 쨌든 난 박정현이 과하다고 생각한 적은 없네요.
