As the producer of this clip, I can confirm that it is was made for a promo for a proposed documentary based on Richard Dawkins 2004 book The Ancestor's Tale. He introduced the idea of 'Concestors', or 'common ancestors' - animals that must have existed at the point one species became two, even without fossil evidence to back it up. So this creature has no name ! But with hindsight, the forelimbs were not quite right . The documentary was not commissioned, and the animation never broadcast.
Thanks - Could be ! In fact it was intended as a theoretical ancestor - or Concestor as Richard Dawkins would have it - rather than a species from the fossil record. However, we have animated an Icthyostega previously, and currently a Tiktaalik is underway for the History Channel.
