Good to hear Blackest Night starts good! Also nice to hear positive things about the Wolverine film, maybe I'm going te see it. Don't know if it's still in the Dutch theaters, though.
I liked wolverine but I agree about Deadpool and Gambit. My comic shop limited only 2 books and I got the best 2. Here's who I think the black lantern hands are. What do u think? Earth 2 Superman Blue Beetle(Ted Kord) Aquaman(hell yes) Sue Dibny Martian Manhunter Ralph Dibny Mirror Master Effigy Firestorm Dr. Light Maxwell Lord Terra(not sure which one though)
I kinda agree with you on the FX. Too many flings in the air, but it was still a nice movie. It sure will not be Marvel's blockbuster of the year. Sorry to say that to Marvel, but it's true. XMO : Wolverine was good, and it had it's moments, but there were too many mistakes in it, making it only a ***1/2 movie.
For what they did to Deadpool, I'll never forgive this movie. The highest praise it'll ever get from me is a spit in the face, for that exactly what its done DP and Gambit and the X-film franchise as a whole.
One thing I know about the movie, Marvel had no say in it, Except Stan Lee but you about stan the man. He's more of a money, movie guy now. Losing touch with comics.
I'm not knick picking but I'm pointing out the obvious, one bad script makes one bad movie. And I loved X3 in theatres. All of them.
And another thing, the CGI looks like post early 90's CG for some scenes.
As one who could care less about the DCU, BN#0 did an admirable job of having me give a damn. Barry and Hals exchange was very nice and the flashbacks of Hal and Batman looked like an an interesting and somewhat uneasy relationship. Their insults towards each other were risible and made the story even more engrossing. As I metioned before, I am not a DC fan, but GL is looking good. Any suggestions on where I good jumping on point is? Or should I skip past issue and just wait for BN?
If you want to wait until Blackest Night starts in July, you can do that, but if you want some good Green Lantern action, go ahead and jump on now. I'll respect anything you choose to do with GL.
You can check out some of my GL vids for a catch up or to check out a few character that caught yer eye.
If you want to spend some cash, Rebirth is great and Sinestro CORPS War of course. Even the Final Crisis stuff like Birth of the Red Lanterns and Secret Origin story arc are all good jump on points.
The retcon of Hal Jordans origin is like vol4 and the last 8 months I think of his current comic.
Wow. All that feels a little overwhelming. BN seems to be the best place start and is the most cost effective way to inroduce myself to GL corner or of the DCU, anyway. Look at me talking about buying DCU books. Never thought it'd happen.
That's ok. If you want to start at Blackest Night, then that's perfectly fine. I can certainly see your hatred toward DC, because Final Crisis sucked, and Batman R.I.P. wasn't nearly as good as I expected it to be. I don't even touch Superman comics.
I wouldn't say I hate DC, I just don't find their squeaky clean, straightforward characters as compelling as Marvels morally ambiguous vigilanties who'll lie, cheat, and steal to serve the greater good.
I can't believe you guys were only limited to 3! I got a bag full of about 15 or so free comics not including BN#0 and The Avengers(which I thought was pretty lame. These characters need another creator to do them justice for Bendis is not one whose take on these character is particularly good, IMO).
I thought Emma Frost has telepathy.??
has she developed telekinesis too, like Psylocke.??
Im confused.. o.O*

What are the chances all these characters will return to their normal, living, breathing selves after all is said and done?

Nice list there Guido!

who do u think the hands are
Guido5595 2 years ago
Pretty much who you said they were, however, did you see the previews for the Blackest Night books with Black Hand standing on Bruce Wayne's grave?
blugoblin01 2 years ago
Woooohooooo FCBD!!!!!! I had my brothers kids get all different and then they ended up with every title as a group.
I won't do any spoilers on Black Lanterns but the few big names mentioned are clearly involved.
Wolverine. I am still the same on it. I liked it and then 2 days later I'm not as high up on it. The FX were slackerish.

That's quite an awesome viewpoint.

Thank you. That is, in essence, why, for the most part, I could care less about DC(save for Batman, of course).
BlackPhoenix06 2 years ago
Meant to say "couldn't* care less".

Our LCS limited to 3 also. I got Aliens instead of Bongo, but the same other two. Blackest Night #0 is easily the best FCBD issue of any year.
I think the word you were looking for was "essence". They didn't capture the essence of what makes Deadpool a great character.

That's the exact word!
