@dvyue Mixing programs or DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) aren't as important as ic placement and room sound. I did the audio for this in garageband.
This has convinced me to buy this mic. Ignore the idiots, they don't get that this mic is impressive BECAUSE it does so well on subtle, beautifully toned soft vocals. Great demo for it!
@TheFlashbackAudio hey my friend i just got one of them mic i need help recording what you use to make your voice sound like that thanks of any help!!!!
@Bboy3RMusic Also, Look up some vids on audio engineering to help you out. I head lots of clipping in one of your tracks. Keep your eye on the level. Good Luck with future uploads. Also, If you are into rap check out my Gold Digger cover. I really changed it up.
@Bboy3RMusic Hey there, The First thing you should try is not compressing the video. Larger file size is always better for both video and music. I had the same problem with my Scar Tissue cover and thats what it was for me. What file type are you exporting your song as? WAV or AIF are the best to use. Also, how high did you have the input level on the fast track? I noticed in one of your vids it looked almost maxed which is never a good thing. Create a nice room sound with your DAW.
Hey! This is a great cover of that song but I also have a question. When I played it, the sound from the microphone is clear and I use te same microphone and when I record and edit the sound is the same but when I upload it, the sound is muffled. If you don't mind, can you take the time to check out a video or two of my covers with the microphone? Either How To Love or The Show Goes On videos. I'm wondeirng how to take the muffle out of my sound. Thanks :D
what exactly is an interface? and how does it work, do i connect it with the mic and computer? also how to get an interface does it come with the rode nt1a or do i need to buy it somewhere else?
@DUMBF0UND3D Your interface is what you use to connect the mic/instrument to the computer. It'll be USB or Firewire. You'll have to buy the interface separately from the mic and for a 1 or 2 input you'll pay around $115. The Rhode will come with the xlr cable, mount and filter.
@SuperBri67 I've only ever used the fast track but you can run the same number of inputs at a time so to me it doesn't really matter. I would probably take the fast track though only cause I hate dealing with digital controls
@AllThingsFresh702 The right is only the reverb and the left is the dry audio. I accidentally recorded in stereo so I was unable to pan the tracks after recording.
Really, REALLY great voice mate, just to say though, if you are going to be messing around with channels (I'm wearing stereo studio headphones and can tell) you are going to want to start with having the vocals on the right, and the guitar on the left. Then have a track where they are both in the middle and mix that over the top. This'll give you a nice, even coverage, but also a split like the professionals.
good job, and really nice singing voice! I'm looking at improving my sound, i'm singin off an iphone and uploading to youtube at the moment, that HAS to change! lol... considering this mic, kristy :-D
Very nice! Hey i have the same mic as u? but for some reason i cant get it to work when im recording my videos. It would constantly feed off the built in mic from my webcam. I even set the Nt1a as my def mic but still wont work? any suggestions?
@rhythms24 Try running it through any DAW. You could use Garageband or even Audacity if you can't get the bigger programs. It doesn't matter which one you use. Record it through there and sync it up to the video after using your computers default video editing software :)
Defently an issue with the balance between the speakers. But doesnt matter for this! The sound is awesome. I bought this myself, and should recieve it within a couple of days. I don't know how much time you put into mastering it, but so far, I love the sound! p.s. nice voice ;-)
@Amotaraso Yeah, i didn't really even touch the mix but the problem was i didn't change the tracks to mono before recording lol. Sweet mic. and thanks :P
@TheFlashbackAudio ahh nice even better :D So the sound from this video is actually a clear natural sound. Looking very much forward to get mine now hehe ^^
@TheFlashbackAudio haha yea can hear the effects tail on the right though, strange hearing the vocals on the laft and the reverberation on the right =P
@Boxietherabbit I would personally prefer this one, but it all comes down to preference. The AKG has the 20dB pads and low cut filter and that... try em out in store and get whichever sounds better to you. I like this for my voice and it sounds great on my guitar as well.
@ItsKnucklez I was in the gulf of Mexico a few years back just leisurely swimming in the ocean. An 8 foot Tiger shark came out of nowhere and started attacking and it took that piece of my ear off. I also have other scars on my body from the incident.
hit me up if you want to sing n my mixtape ill send yo the track and you can put your vocals on it
