We as the Tuners of them loved them for there light weight, bullet proof motors, and ease of tuning.. The new Civic SI, is Not cheap, as you can get a 300HP Mustang V6 for the same price.. They are Reliable, but they are not great, because the newer 05+ Si manual tranny sucks.. and they are severely bloated.. HEAVY!

@TheManInDboX Honda doesn't only make the Civic, you know? Plus, the Civic SI are sexy as hell. You can get a 300hp v6 for the same price, but buying a new car isn't about which has more horsepower. You generalize ALL tuners to your preference, but in my experience, the K20 is what drives tuners to civic, rsx, ep3. I haven't heard anything about tranny problems on civics, and they are only 300-400 pounds heavier than before. Honda's not wrecked, your perception of Honda is wrecked...

The 1998 Acura Integra Type R vs. The 2005 RSX Type S and you would realize that the Type R embarrasses the the Type S in every way possible. The Same can be said about the 99 Civic SI vs The 11 Civic SI.. The 2011+ is 2900Lbs and does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds Vs the 99 doing it in 7.2, which is really nothing to brag about since its slower in the corners, as well as more expensive at the pump.

@MrWiskytango Si comes stock with a k20z3 with 197 hp. rsx type s 02-04 has a k20a2 with 200 hp and 05-05 comes in a k20z1 with 210 hp. k24 is only found in accords, crv and tsx. the si and the rsx have pretty much the same k20 block. the rsx is just much faster. I love the SI (and my bf has one) but i think id rather get an 05 or 06 rsx type s.

I love my Si, but I don't think its the fastest thing on 4 wheels. People need to just grow up and drive what ever car they like. I love my lil zip zap but I don't plan on it being a 10 second car. For that I'd get a Camaro or a Trans-Am. Also, there is a big difference in "ricers" and "tuners"

For big power American MUSCLE is the way to go.

For good gas milage with a sporty kick, get a zippy zappy honda.. like me :-p

you are wrong the Civic SI is rated at 197 and the RSX-S is rated at 200. The RSX type S has 148 lb-ft of torque and the Civic Si has 139 lb-ft of torque. The only thing that makes the civic a little better is the gearing and higher rev. Acura stock will always have more HP and Torque than Honda's of the same model year. That would piss Acura owners off if they didn't.

For the resale and reliability though. They really aren't as fast as a lot of people like to say they are though. I drive mine as a nice luxurious daily driver. It has plenty of power for what it is but I don't go around thinking I can race everybody. If I wanted a fast car I will get something with a 8 cylinder.
