Man the things that Ahmed was suppose to do but injury did him in.... he was suppose to have a IC title match at summerslam 96 with Farooq but kidney issue took him out (legit)....After joining the nation in 1997...Ahmed was suppose to face Undertaker for the WWF title at canadian stampede (their was talk of giving him the belt) ...but knee injury a week before the ppv did him in. 2 awsome pushes/matches but injurys killed it.
Funny that the faces used the Rocket Launcher and JR didn't say that it was shades of Corny's old tag team the Midnight Express. Sid vs. Vader would have been the main event of Starrcade 93 but Sid was fired after the scissors incident with Arn Anderson in England. Because WWE didn't own the WCW video library in 96, they couldn't have used the Sting-Vader series as a model for HBK-Vader. Even if they did, they wouldn't because that would have meant HBK would have had to do jobs for Vader.
Shawn got more out of a crappy entrance theme than probably anyone before or since. Ahmed's, Sid's and Vader's themes totally pwn Shawn's theme.
Regarding the speculation as to whether Shawn and Ahmed could/should trust Sid, that's one thing that wouldn't have applied to Warrior, since he was a committed babyface.
"Imagine if Vader had a chance to defeat Shawn Michaels for the WWF title." That was the main event at Summerslam the next month.
