  • All these abs exercises in which the legs are involved not the best for the abs because such exercises put much strain on the musculus iliposoas. You can feel it in you hips.

    Better do some sit ups with you calves lying on a bench so you can't involve you hip muscles.

  • The best "exercise" for the abdominal muscles is to cut back on the carbs. As has been stated so many times you can not shrink the abdominals by excessive sit ups or crunches.

    In other words follow Dr. Atkins and have low carb leafy green vegetables and avoid excessive coffee.

  • Why is coffee bad for your abs? I'm under the impression that It has almost zero calories it's extremely high in antioxidants and the caffeine raises your metabolism causing you to burn more calories at rest.

  • Upper body position changes  the range. Sit straight , more work is done @ top of rep. Lean back puts more work @ the beginning of the rep. Neither is really the best exericise for the purpose in the 1st place, but neither is "wrong" at all.

  • You know, you keep saying that - "neither is wrong" or "this isn't wrong".

    Now we both know that in fitness parlance, there is "good, better, best". Its GOOD to get off the couch and move around. Its BETTER to move around with a clear goal in mind, with exercises meant to achieve that goal, and a working knowledge of reps and sets. BEST would be using all that science has to offer, which is light years beyond good and better!

  • Now for us and I think for most other people here, we're interested in whats BEST! Anything that is not best for us, is wrong, because it detracts from what we're after - which is the BEST!

    Thats why I look at this kind of vid and say "thats wrong". Its good, sure. Its better than doing nothing, but its wrong for those of us who are out to be the best we can be, and isn't that who we're addressing?

  • Agreed.Trying to not be even meaner.Wrong: to spend time effort that can no longer be spent more effectively. What are we looking for on perhaps the most argued area?: Stabilization ,movement,appearance, breathing all part of the package. Powerlifters do heavy deadlifts , boxers do high reps & medicine-ball, a yogi does the vacuum, but diet is probably all that's needed for what most people want. You'll never see your abs just from working them.

  • It doesn't matter how odd his abs look but what is important is that they stand out because he has ab muscle and no fat. There is nothing he can do about his abs anyway... the human body is not perfect.

To anyone with a 6th grade education or higher, the ability for these same genetics to determine body shape or musculature would be blatantly obvious.

  • The function of the abs is to bring the ribs to the pelvis, or vice versa. Look at 00:55. His abs are NOT contracting through any ROM, making his movement no better than the "incorrect" version he showed first.

    Again, at 2:44, there is NO improvement between his way and the "incorrect" way.

  • tip: when you do the exercice, concentrate in moving the body using onli the abdominal area... not using legs or body.. concentrate the movement in the abdominals.. this exercices are very good!! thanks for uploading this vid!!

  • I've been doing this daily since I first watched this video and you would NOT believe the change in my abs already! My jeans fit great now...I can't imagine how good I will look in a month, or two months...!

  • This is great. Can you give me an idea of how many reps/sets I should incorporate into each workout? Also, is there a goal of reps/sets I should eventually work to? I have had three kids and while I do abdominal work already I believe this will GREATLY benefit my lower abs!
