lilangel. I'm not in the business of predicting the future, but lets face it. The Yankees and Red Sox are world class organizations that are built on winning traditions. There not the Marlins, they are not going to be going through any rebuilding seasons after making a playoff run. Not only will either the Red Sox or Yankees take the division, one of them has a better chance of taking the wild card than the blue jays. And lets not cound out other AL teams. By the way, I'm a Yankees fan.

As a die-hard Yankees fan, I can say the Red sox are built to be a winning frachise looking at there success recently, free agent signings, and there payroll.

The Yankees and Red Sox along with a few other MLB teams are the class of the MLB because there owners and management are willing to pay the money to field winning teams every year. I have to disagree with the royals making the playoffs if the MLB puts in a salary cap because the Royals are one of the teams that are NOT willing to pay a lot of cash to field a winning team. The owners of these teams are usually not baseball people rather business people.

The Yankees and Red Sox are willing to pay the money because their owners HAVE the kind of money to spend to pay to buy Daisuke and take on Bobby Abreu's contact and pay 4,000-year-old Roger Clemens. These things do come in cycles; the Red Sox will make missteps just like the Yankees have in shelling out money to old and no-longer-productive players.
