Chris Jones! I remember him I am sure. A great reader in the library and a good football player. Broke his leg in a house match playing football. Mr Westwood the games and gym teacher was really pissed of about that. I was a couple of years younger than Chris Jones. Left Ackworth School in 69

Simon, I vaguely remember you from Ackworth though you are a few years younger than I. This is a brilliant video and an excellent advert for the school. A few of us climbed up to the clock in our final year. It was a long route involving drain pipes, windows and very loose roof tiles! To stand up there and see the school from a different view was a nice way to leave. I was sad not to see Mr Gosney or Mr Minihan in the video, two real comedians! Good job, Sam.

am not been funny r8 but i used to go to ackworth school and now i got to a normal state school and ackworth school is not a patch on my new school and any adult that are watching this do NOT put your kids in the school its a waste of money and time + they say you have smaller classes so you can work better and its aloud of rubbish do not send your kids here if you want the best for them + its sexist and it has favoritism against certain students p.s its shit

Well I am glad that your new found school has worked hard to improve your grasp of the English language! This school is a phenomenal place to grow up in. The beautiful grounds, historic buildings and pastoral care make it easy and fun to discover yourself. The teachers are truly wonderful people. I was a 'problem' child from day one but the teachers never gave up on me. When I left I was a much better person. If it is feasible send your child to Ackworth. Sam Hornby 1997-2006

Well I attended Ackworth School from 1964- 69. The old buildings don't seem to have changed. Have to visit it one day.
