@djsebex Hi, for this video and the next couple of parts, I used a portal gun that someone called mahalis made for Garry's Mod, but when Gmod was updated to the Orange Box version of Source a couple of years ago, the update broke it, which is why you now get all those errors. There are other portal guns made by someone else, which you can download from the Gmod website, although I haven't tried them yet, so I don't know if they work. But, yes, this portal gun was great - shame it's now kaput!

How did you get the portal gun into Half Life gmod?

Sorry, but the Portal Gun I used in this video, made by Mahalis, was broken when Gmod was upgraded to the Orange Box version of Source - I think he's still working on a fix, but I'm not sure. I haven't tried it (yet!) but you can import the 'real gun' from Portal into HL2 - I don't have a link for you, although if you Google it you should find a step-by-step guide somewhere...(I remember reading that you risk breaking the game if you do try this, though!)

He was using the old Gmod10 i think because the Portal Gun SWEP was only meant to be used in the Old GMOD10 but if you do some texture editing you can get rid of the Black Box and some Lua errors.

Crikey no! To trigger animations and script in NPCs I use Andy Vincent's 'Play Scene' addon for gmod - I also use GCFScape to extract sound files from the original game,(script, music, audio fx), which I'll sometimes chop and change a little...

Well, I know the latest gmod update has broken quite a few addons (don't get me started...!) although a couple of people have posted fixes for Play Scene, so hopefully, if you download one of them, that'll get it working for you.

Yes, a very clever guy, 'mahalis', has made a version of the Portal Gun for Garry's Mod 10. But I didn't put it in the video simply to be 'alternative', or because the gun is 'cool' (even though it is!) but because I thought/hoped it would add something to the story...
