I was in NYC at that time. I went out a lot but I was not a club kid. Looking back, I can see why it was so tempting for club kids to plunge headlong into that oblivion because literally everything was free if you were young and white and reasonably attractive or looked interesting. That's all you needed. You didn't have to have a job or a thought in your head or money or really anything to offer other than the ability to show up.

I often wonder if Michael even wants to make an attempt to get the Club Kid thing going again with a new generation of people. I feel he's gonna make some money when he gets out but he'll do his drugs all over again,get arrested and then over dose. I feel he won't do well for very long once he gets out. I hope I'm wrong but I've seen this happen alot.

Right now I know that Michael is in a drug rehab program in Coxsackie and maybe getting out in october, when he went out for parol in august he was denied.

Within a few short yrs, many of these "kids" wound up fat, bald, broke and worse. I worked with dozens of ppl who were deeply into this scene during the mid 90s and almost all of them ended up being completely fucked up by the time they were 30. Some were nice and interesting but the majority seemed like shallow attention seekers. Outside the clubs, they drove cabs, waited tables, tended bar, etc. Like Studio 54, the mythology that's grown around the scene is more interesting than the reality.

Angel attacked him! Michael defended himself, Angel was trying to kill Michael, Freeze intervened and hit Angel with the hammer and Angel still tried to go after Michael even after being hit with the hammer twice, the court's must have thought it was in self defense as well since he got charged with manslaughter not murder

Dont get me wrong,I still love michael alig but it was self defense only to a certain point.Michael Alig is clinically insane and permafried from all the drugs.Even after Angel was dead, he poured drain-o down his throat and taped it shut then kept him in his bathroom for over a week.

And the only reason he got charged with manslaughter over murder was because he paid his laywer a lot of money too make it that way so he could have a vcr in his room.He gets out in 2010.Watch his interviews.

@MsMisfits The killing itself was self defense. There's no doubt about that. Michael and Freeze were so high they just didnt know what to do, they were panicking, self defense or not they had just killed somebody. Im sure youd freak out too. So they kind of tried to ignore the problem in their drug haze. They gave him the plea deal because of the DEA not cuz he paid a bunch of lawyers. He's not "permafried" or insane...

@MsMisfits Michael only got 20 years because the fbi was building a case against his former boss. He and freeze were offered less sentences because of their cooperation. Michael was just joking about the vcr. Michael was flat broke when he was arrested. He's lucky to be getting out in 11-18 months. I know. I write him all the time .

@MsMisfits He's not insane and his brain isn't fried. What some people consider insane, others consider creative talent. Think of it this way, one person's trash is another person's treasure. We weren't there, we don't exactly what was said and what Michael was feeling and thinking. I know it was murder but you can't judge anyone for anything. He's a sweet person. He's a good person that did something bad, he's not an evil person. There's a difference... People get the two confused all the time.
