  • I remember this it was tornado too with ice i was shocked

  • atleast you have free ice cream

  • look for Crise du verglas 1998

  • I hope you have good insurance.

  • Shit, I live in minnesota and I've never seen something like that

  • i suppose the dominator doesn't handle snow too well....

  • I remember me and my buddies in the Linville Gorge got an ice storm the last day of the trip and since we got so damn thirsty we just got a tree with ice and put it in our water bottles, the storm much similar to that one

  • typical Monday morning, will I say.

  • 3:00 was he taking a piss???

  • What Narnia must have felt like LOL

  • At first I was like "This is nothing!" And then he walked outside and I'm like "DAMNNN"

  • I love the crunching sound when he walks

  • freezing rain is rare in ireland but we seemingly had it last night

  • kinda sounds like reed from stormchasers

  • I remember standing outside the liquor store where I worked on Lindsey and Lahoma. Every five seconds you heard trees snapping, you just didn't know where. Half of one fell on our delivery driver's truck when he was pulling into the parking lot.

  • kinda funny how the cars back side window isnt shattered..... yet the car is totaled.... still feel bad for the person though

  • try not having power for two weeks in 90 degree heat in August after a hurricane. Now that is miserable.

  • Damn looks so hot out there. D: I gotta turn on the air conditioner.

  • @NiggaBTrippn You're kidding right?

  • There are few things more beautiful than snow and ice on trees...

  • I bet that was a switch for himlol A whole different kind of wow factor.

  • Is that Reed in the back round doing the commentary?

  • I was still living in Norman with my brother when this happened. Our house was without power for 2 weeks! This storm caused us to temporarily move back home to Bartlesville where I ended up permanently moving shortly after. I'll never forget the sights, sounds, and emotions of the storm and the days that followed. Since then, I've never seen winter weather get that bad.

  • me either i remember all those people who went to the hotels to seek warmth and stuff and all there christmas presents were stolen when the came back me and my family stcuk it out and lived off the firer place and karocine lamps and a gas coleman camping stove we were with out powere for a week the ice storm last month was great for sledding

  • The freezing rain that came through Oklahoma in January was worse to me than the 2007 ice storm. The roads were impossible to drive on, especially in my little Toyota Echo. The road conditions caused me to miss the AC/DC concert in Tulsa. It's ironic, really, because AC/DC is on their "Black Ice World Tour".

  • That was an amazing couple of days. You would constantly hear SNAP, then SHHHHHH as branches fell. LOL. I think we had almost 2 inches of ice coating around our limbs around here. It was insane.

  • This storm was phenomenal. The video doesn't do the storm justice. I consider myself and the residents of Oklahoma to be some of the few lucky ones that experienced this strange weather anomaly.

  • I would be so pissed at that tree if it fell on my car.

  • we just got a major ice storm here in new hampshire. I lost power for almost 2 days but other people lost power for up to 3 weeks. There was and still is alot of tree damage in the area. everytime we get a little wind we end up losing are power again and now they are forecasting more ice for the same area.

  • how long were you out of power we live in FT. Wayne IN and it took us 3 days

  • i drove through this storm coming back from Arizona.. worst hell i've ever been through

  • can't forget about that ominous sound of chainsaws at the end... too familiar to that sound...

  • wow that was pretty bad. Check out some videos of the Springfield MO ice storms......people were out of power for literally a month.

  • I hated still having to go to work (I drive nights) during all this. It was however amazing to see what the city looked like PITCH BLACK. We finally got a generator after all this was over though..

  • our power was out for 4 days...

but i did get to see ozzy in okc like 4 days before lol!

  • i didnt have power for four days.... it pretty much sucked.. since we were out of school we almost had to go back after graduation... yuck.... no more ice

  • good jod I love it it mind we the ice stome we have 1998 good jod

  • we have woods behind our fence and the ice just coated everything down. and let me tell you these trees are huge. fucking humongous branches were every where. after the storm passed away, two weeks later my dad made me, my sister and brother go in the back and clear it all out. it sucked!

  • i hated that storm. i was spending the night with my parents the night of the storm. it was really bad. i had to stay at their house for about 4 days since i was not able to leave because of all the trees blocking the way...and yeah man that car...mine almost looked like that until the next door neighbor came over at 3 in the morning telling me to move it. (one time you are greatful for knock at that door that early...lol). finally got home and found a whole entire tree next to my window.

  • Oh man that storm. tisk tisk tisk it was CRAZY! i was out of school for a week. and no power for a day but i bet thats not as bad as some as u guys got God Bless the people who passed away those couple of weeks.

  • yeah,but i didn't have power for 1 week 1 day.

  • wow my power cam back on at about 10 so we didnt hav even a whole day

  • we were out of power for 8 days with that storm! And inside norman, too. Great video for some bad memories. Hotels were full so we braved it all at home with down comforters and coleman heaters. We're still cleaning up the mess in the back yard!

  • parking your car next to a huge oak tree during an ice storm your asking for trouble.

  • those southern trees could not handle that ice if you live in the north ice like this means nothing pine trees and northen elms can easily hanldle it and our telephone poles are also built for the weather noone would make a second look there used to it this is not really that bad, and the roads are perfect. by the way and 29 is t shirt weather.

  • I know how you feel we had no electric for 9 days a large limb went through the roof we still got limbs in the back yard to cut down because they quit coming to pick them up.

An FEMA turned oklahomans down for help they suck

  • I live in kenton ohio. we had an ice storm a couple of years ago. they closed the entire county for 3 days, and my house didnt have power for like 5-7 days. branches that are left still fall from the trees that never fell during the ice storm

  • I live in southern California and I visited Norman on this specific week, that was something I dont see everyday.

  • The only thing that sucked was that the sun never came out until after the ice had melted. It would have looked incredible with the sunlight gleeming off that ice! I had some awesome pictures of our last ice storm back in 2000/2001? much more beautiful.. This storm just sucked. Nothing beautiful about it.

  • i was in Norman of Feb. 1st and i still couldnt believe all the destruction! its gona take a long time to recover from this one!

  • glad thats not my car.

  • what the hell, first you talked bad about my favorite sport, then my home state!

  • This is a familiar sight! Back in 96 or 97 we were hit with a powerful ice storm in Southeast Texas. We were without power for 9 days, and some parts of the region were without power for up to 3 weeks. It's a scarey sound to hear trees constantly cracking and crashing around you.

  • We had a storm of similar severity strike in February '05, I believe. They only canceled school for 3 days, though, and this was a 4-5 day event, I believe.

  • lindsay,ok

  • When you aren't accustomed to weather like this, you aren't readily equipped to prepare for it, defend against it, drive in it, or recover from it... so your statement is not particularly fair.

  • Wow thats pretty bad..

  • tuff! tuff!

  • TULSA,OK

  • thanks for posting; we had a big one here in quebec 10 years ago and we still talk about it. Powere out for almost 8 week s in places; we never missed power, due to the fact we are on the hospital grid. We took in people and turned our home into an inn for a while. People coming together; no choice.

  • What city got the worst of the ice storm?

  • Oklahoma City.

  • living in Norman I have to say Norman or maybe some parts of OKC

  • I'm gonna say the whole city got it pretty equally, considering the power outages.

  • U mean the tree froze in to a big Ice sicle and broke off... That's insane!

  • I live in Saint Louis and this stuff was JUST north of us...i was staring and the radar like O.O WOAH! Seriously! this stuff is amazing...we got hit last last week but NOTHING compared to this!!! I remember the ice storm last year it was pretty bad but still nothing of this magnitude! I NEVER heard of or even thought there could be a thunderstorm with freezing rain!!! Stay warm!

  • Some of that is pretty minor compared to our neighborhood. The entire tree next door to use was knocked over at the root. Some pretty bad roof damage I noticed today too on the corner of Robinson and Flood. Our power was only out 12 hours...my sister's is still out.

  • I posted my video commment above showing how bad it got here in Central Missouri (Mongomery County). I just went outside and it is all re-freezing and very slick everywhere you walk.

  • Interesting to see this. It got a brief mention on the news here in the UK but without pictures. So - thanks for the upload.

  • It's worse here in NorthWest Missouri.

  • Thanks for making the effort and showing the damage. Quite amazing...

  • Aw man! I'm feeling for you brother. Just heard that tens of thousands are without power tonite as well which probably means you won't get to read this until when?

    Take care

  • yea, OU's campus is pretty messed up. it HAD to be finals week...

  • I really feel for everybody going through there. We went without power for eleven days last January here in southwest Missouri.

  • thats how Springfield Ill. looked like last year in the early December ice storm of 2006

  • I love living in the PNW. 90% of the time it rains but the temperature is always between 10 and 90.

  • wow..i grew up in that town. i'm sad for everyone there, but i don'e miss it at all. i'm in HOUSTON and its a rockin 74 degrees.

  • You want to see damage? Come to Comanche ST.

  • it was pretty bad in misouri my grandma lost power and i was stuck at home for 3 days

  • where are you at? I'm in St. Joseph, MO

  • wow, that huge tree split in two. at least you guys didn't have to go chasing. the weather came to you.

  • man this isnt even close to my neighborhood its sooo much worse it is like a war zone

  • Crazy weather, be careful.

  • poor trees, but beautiful in a glassy way!

  • wow... thats crazy, your in OK and its 29 degrase, and i am in MD and its in the high 40's low 50's... i think its kinda backwards.... hope you get power soon! p.s. i dont think your trees are used to all that ice:)

  • Did I hear a power surge? That weird sound...I remember when we had those storms it caused that. I could have sworn I saw lightning or sparks from a powerline when we had an ice storm several years ago.

  • good stuff, keep safe!

  • Just out of curiosity, when do you guys sleep? Amazing ice-storm results--thanks for the footage. Hope they get your power back on soon.

  • Thanks for sharing your footage of the freeze with us.

  • thats awesome i love storms especially tornadoes
