  • HI hope you can "still" read this comment..

im having a problem on selecting the partition.. whenever i "select partition 1" , it says "THERE IS NO PARTITION SELECTED"

hence, i couldnt make it "active"

and also i noticed that from the partition list, there's an '*' before the partition 1 whereas in your video there shouldnt be one..

  • @noisyass2 You should:

Use "list disk" and "select disk" to figure out which drive to use, you should be able to tell by the size of the drives.

Use "list partition" on the disk you selected to see if there is more than one partition.

If there is, you need to figure out which one to use and use "select partition X", where X is the number of the partition to use.

You have to have selected a partition for the "active" command to work.

  • @noisyass2 You go to put list disk and which ever one that has almost the same mb as your usb, is your disk, look what it is called on the left then put selct disk ( no.)...

  • is the repair disc the same as a recovery disc? got a new dell and right from the start it had me back up something on to my external hard drive... then i couldn't find it again. this repair disc was just over 100mb vs my vista recovery disc it took three dvd's.

  • i tried that but it says "The media speed is incompatible with the device. This may be caused by using higher or lower speed media than the range of speeds supported by the device." it wont let me use the cd rom ? HELP !

  • @MzMuda87 I would say try a different disc and see what happens. I don't remember if I tried to burn it on a CD or DVD but either should work.

  • Thank you very much.

  • works well, thanks
